Thu Jun 17 201014:13Figgins is starting to heat up
Chone Figgins is batting .317 (20-for-63) over his last 18 games, raising his batting average from .198 to .230.
We knew it would happen sooner or later. Figgins has also cut down significantly on his strikeouts, compiling a 6/9 K/BB ratio during the same timespan. There's no question that he's been a tremendous disappointment this season, but the time to buy-low has likely passed.
Tue Jun 8 201010:35Figgins not happy batting ninth
Chone Figgins was not happy about being dropped to the ninth spot in the batting order on Monday night.
"I think I've about earned enough respect as a player," said Figgins. "I'm still battling and I'm doing good, I should stay where I was hitting." Figgins enters play on Tuesday with a disappointing .230 batting average, but he has hit .375 (9-for-24) over the first seven games this month. If he keeps it up, he won't stay down there for long.

Mon Jun 7 201017:10Figgins bumped to ninth in the batting order
Chone Figgins has been bumped to the No. 9 spot in the lineup on Monday.
Odd timing, especially considering that Figgins is batting .300/.391/.350 over the first six games this month, but apparently Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu has seen enough. Milton Bradley will now bat No. 2, at least for now.

Wed Apr 28 201017:22Mariners' Figgins knocks in two in victory
Chone Figgins had two hits, including a two-run triple, as the Mariners edged the Royals 6-5 on Wednesday.
Rob Johnson broke a 5-5 tie with a sac fly in the top of the eighth. Figgins also walked and stole a base today. He snapped a skid of 10 straight games in which he had struck out at least once, and he upped his average from .183 to .200.
Tue Apr 27 201000:18Mariners' Figgins fans three times
Chone Figgins went 0-for-4 and struck out three times in Monday's loss to the Royals.
Figgins has walked 15 times in 20 games to date, but that's the only contribution he's made offensively. He's hitting .179 and slugging .239 in his 67 at-bats. The Mariners probably won't try a change at the top of the order yet, but Figgins may find himself elsewhere if his slump lingers on for a couple of more weeks.
