Cosart (1-1) picked up his first victory of the season Wednesday with six strong innings in Philadelphia, giving up just a solo home run among four hits while striking out four without a walk.
Cosart's been an interesting mixed bag of results in his first three outings of the year -- he was effective in his first start despite a 1:3 K:BB, got blown up his second time out despite a 5:1 K:BB, and now this. It all adds up to a 3.63 ERA and 1.04 WHIP so far, but Cosart's 10:4 K:BB over 17.1 innings isn't very exciting and the Marlins don't appear poised to do a lot of winning.

Cosart gave up five runs on seven hits and walk over 5.1 innings Thursday against the Mets. He struck out five.
So far in the early going, Cosart's not showing many signs that he's evolved into anything better than the below-average pitcher he was last year. He'll get a better matchup his next time out, as he'll get a home draw against the Phillies.

Cosart picked up the win Saturday over the Braves, twirling seven innings of shutout baseball.
Cosart allowed seven hits and a walk to go along with five strikeouts while posting his fourths straight quality start. The Marlins' acquisition of Casart looks to have been a shrewd move for Miami's front office with the hurler notching a 1.64 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 33 innings since joining the team ahead of the July non-waiver trade deadline. Cosart will look to duplicate his effort Friday against the Braves, this time in Miami.

Cosart covered six innings Tuesday against the Rangers and yielded one run but didn't factor into the decision in the Marlins' 4-3 victory. The right-hander struck out two and walked two in the outing.
That's two strong outings in a row for Cosart, who has made up for a lack of strikeouts by generating ground balls at a decent clip. Unfortunately, Cosart's 55.8 ground ball rate isn't easily quantified in the fantasy game, and his unimpressive 5.5 K/9 IP rate and 4.14 ERA aren't good enough to prop up his value.
