RHP Domingo German was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before the Sunday game. German started his fourth stint with the team after being on New York's active roster June 11, June 15-July 4 and July 16. In 20 games (19 starts) between Double-A Trenton and Triple-A, he went 8-6 with a 2.88 ERA. He also was 1-0 with a 3.65 ERA in two minor league postseason starts.

RHP Domingo German pitched four shutout innings in relief on Saturday in a 5-2 loss to Oakland. German allowed four hits, struck out six and walked three. He was called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday. "Really good," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said of German's outing. "The kid did a good job, and both outings he's done a good job. He's young and really hasn't pitched a lot because he's been hurt, but he did a nice job." German has allowed zero runs over 6 2/3 innings in his two appearances for the Yankees this season.

RHP Domingo German was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday. He said he found out he was joining the Yankees late Saturday afternoon and arrived in New York Saturday night. In games (nine starts) between Double-A Trenton and Triple-A, he is 3-5 with a 3.34 ERA. He was promoted to Triple-A May 18 and in his second start there, German recorded 10 strikeouts. "Walking in here, it's exciting," German said through an interpreter. "You walk in here and I see some of my ex-teammates here. I'm super happy, super excited for the opportunity to be here. I didn't think I was going to get here this fast. A lot of people told me that it was going to be hard. At the same time, I'm just happy for the opportunity." After pitching the final 2 1/3 innings Sunday he was optioned back to Triple-A and the Yankees said they were calling up RHP Ben Heller on Monday.

The Yankees made a slew of call-ups Tuesday with the rosters expanding, and one easy decision was to place German on the 60-day DL to clear a spot on the 40-man roster given that he underwent Tommy John surgery earlier this season.

German was sent over to the Yankees as part of the trade that brought in Nathan Eovaldi, and appeared to be in line to start the season with High-A Tampa. General manager Brian Cashman said they'd make a decision on German's status as his visit with the team doctors, but at this point it seems as though the 23-year-old may need to miss the entirety of the 2015 season.
