Williams scored six points with five assists in 21 minutes in Friday's preseason win over Chicago.
Williams enters the season as the backup point guard to Ricky Rubio. If the T-Wolves decide to keep J.J. Barea on the roster, Friday's outing could be a typical night for Williams since Minnesota played it's likely regular lineup except for injured Andrew Wiggins.
Tue Oct 7 201418:12Williams will sit out Tuesday's preseason game
Williams will sit out Tuesday's preseason game.
The T-Wolves will give the veteran guard the night off so he can rest, and so that the team can evaluate the younger players.
Wed Jul 30 201417:55Wolves sign Mo Williams to a deal
Timberwolves sign G Mo Williams.
"We are excited to bring Mo into the fold this season," head coach Flip Saunders said. "His veteran leadership and excellent three-point shooting ability will be a valuable addition to our team." He will likely run the point for the second unit, which means rookie Zach LaVine may have to play off the ball more in his rookie campaign. Williams isn't worth a draft pick in standard leagues.

Tue Jul 29 201420:49Mo Williams takes to Twitter about POR fans
Mo Williams said on Tuesday that all the Blazers fans who are bashing him for leaving "don't have a clue what's going on."
"If [the] Portland Trailblazers wanted to sign Mo Williams, in all retrospect, they could have," Williams said on Twitter. "That's [going to] be my first [and] last [time] addressing that. It's a business people." Speaking in the third person aside, there was little reason to bring Williams back and he was clearly not part of their plans, especially after C.J. McCollum looked great in Las Vegas. Williams was a phenomenal pickup last season for the Blazers and he'll have similar chance to perform with the Wolves in 2014-15.

Mon Jul 28 201416:59Report: Mo Williams nearing deal with Wolves
Mo Williams is reportedly nearing an agreement to sign with the Timberwolves.
Williams had stated that his goal during this free agency period was to sign a long-term deal, so perhaps that's what's in the works in Minnesota. Williams wouldn't have much value in the Timberwolves crowded backcourt, but things could change depending on how the pieces are moved in a Kevin Love deal.

Tue Jul 15 201409:53Dallas Mavericks still hopeful on Mo Williams
The Dallas Mavericks are still hoping to land unrestricted free agent Mo Williams.
While the Mavericks would like to sign Williams, there isn't much money or playing time to go around in Dallas. Mavericks president Donnie Nelson admitted that Williams would likely have to take a pay cut as compared to what other teams are offering him and would be fighting for playing time behind Monta Ellis, Raymond Felton, and Devin Harris. "We've been trying to figure out a way to get Mo in a Maverick uniform for years now. He's a Dallas guy, from Memphis but live in Dallas with his family, so we're hopeful that we can work something out," Nelson said. It's just how much of a pay cut are guys willing to look at and we're understanding and respectful of the market place and there's other places that may have more playing time and more financial flexibility that we do."

Thu Jul 10 201410:23Mavericks hope to get Mo Williams at minimum
The Dallas Mavericks are hoping ton sign Mo Williams at the veteran's minimum.
The Mavericks would seem to have a better chance of signing LeBron James than Williams at the minimum at first glance, but the team is hoping Williams' desire to be closer to his family will play into his decision-making process. Williams wouldn't bring much fantasy value to the table in Dallas, but he would provide a solid bench option for the Mavs after averaging 9.7 points and 4.3 assists with the Blazers in 2013-14.

Sun Jul 6 201411:23Mo Williams would still like to return to POR
While Mo Williams has met with the Mavericks, there remains mutual interest between him and the Trail Blazers, according to his agent.
"The doors aren't closed with Portland," Williams' agent Mark Bartelstein told CSNNW.com. "We're still in constant communication with [general manager] Neil [Olshey] everyday. We're just weighing all of our options at this point. We'll continue to talk with [owner] Paul Allen and Neil to see if something can be worked out. Mo loves it in Portland and they want him back. It's still an option." Williams reportedly is more interested in a long-term deal, than a big-money deal.

Thu Jul 3 201415:10Mo Williams meeting with the Mavericks
Mo Williams met with the Mavericks on Thursday.
The Mavericks won't be too eager to make an offer to Williams with their eyes on bigger free agents. Williams is expected to re-sign with the Blazers and there seems to be mutual interest between the two.

Tue Jun 24 201401:25Report: Mo Williams to opt out of Portland
Mo Williams is going to opt out of his contract with the Blazers, according to his agent, Mark Bartelstein.
Williams might still have a little gas left in the tank, but injuries are a concern and at this point, he might not be more than a good guy to have in the locker room for a team interested in winning a title. He had a groin injury in the playoffs, and averaged 9.7 points and 4.3 assists off the Blazers bench last season.

Wed May 14 201414:37Mo Williams will miss Game 5 vs. Spurs
Mo Williams (groin) will miss Game 5 vs. the Spurs on Wednesday night.
He's aggravated his groin strain multiple times in the playoffs and will miss his third consecutive game. The Blazers fared well without Williams in their Game 4 win on Monday and will look to extend their season in San Antonio tonight. Will Barton logged 30 minutes and was excellent off the bench, so he should be a key piece in the second unit again.

Mon May 12 201413:20Mo Williams (groin) doubtful to play Monday
Blazers coach Terry Stotts confirmed that Mo Williams (groin) is doubtful to play in Monday's must-win Game 4 in Portland.
The Blazers will likely be without their sixth-man for the second straight game, though the veteran guard hasn't yet been ruled out. If there's any chance Williams could be productive he'll certainly suit up with his season hanging in the balance, but Stotts' statements at shootaround give no cause for optimism.

Mon May 12 201410:47Mo Williams (groin) doubtful to play Monday
Mo Williams (groin) is not expected to play in Game 4 vs. the Spurs on Monday.
Blazers coach Terry Stotts said on Sunday that there was "no update" on Williams' status, which means he's likely to pick up a second straight DNP. The Blazers bench combined for six points without Mo available in Game 3, and they'll need to find some reserve production to avoid being swept away on their home court.

Sat May 10 201414:21Mo Williams (groin) will not play Saturday
Mo Williams (groin) has officially been ruled out for Saturday's Game 3 in Portland.
Blazers coach Terry Stotts said that Earl Watson and Will Barton will assume bigger roles with Williams sidelined. Mo aggravated his injury a few times before finally missing a game, and he's iffy to return for Game 4 on Monday. The Blazers' thin bench just got even thinner.

Fri May 9 201417:40Mo Williams not expected to play in Game 3
Mo Williams (groin) is not expected to play against the Spurs in Game 3 on Saturday.
He has aggravated his groin injury in each of the last three games, which is certainly enough evidence to sit him down. Williams has battled injuries for much of his career and the Blazers are already playing with house money a bit. If he sits, expect starters Damian Lillard and Wesley Matthews to get a couple more minutes while Earl Watson and Will Barton could get more run.

Fri May 9 201409:26Mo Williams' groin has been nagging a while
Mo Williams said he originally hurt his groin during Game 6 against the Rockets.
That means Williams has been nursing the strain for more than a week now. He aggravated it during Game 1 against the Spurs and probably shouldn't have even tried to play in Game 2 as he lasted just nine ineffective minutes. Williams may try to gut it out in Saturday night's Game 3, but the Blazers can't count on their sixth man for a real spark.

Thu May 8 201423:48Mo Williams out for game with groin issue
Mo Williams aggravated his groin injury on Thursday vs. the Spurs and will not return.
He aggravated his groin issue in Game 2 and there's a decent chance the Blazers might have to sit him down for Game 4. Williams finished with four points and one turnover in nine minutes of action. Will Barton and Earl Watson could pick up some extra minutes.

Thu May 8 201412:23Mo Williams will play Thursday night
Mo Williams (groin) will play in Game 2 Thursday night against the Spurs.
Williams re-aggravated an existing groin pull during Tuesday's Game 1 loss and sat out Wednesday's practice, but will be ready to go Thursday night. "It's the playoffs, man," Williams said. "I got to grind it out. The [expletive] hurts, but I'm going to do what I can. It's tough. You need your groin. Running off them damn screens. It's tough, you know. But I wouldn't miss this for nothing." Williams is Portland's highest bench scorer, so they'll need him on the court to counter the Spurs deep bench, which is arguably the league's best.

Mon Apr 21 201401:21Blazers win despite poor bench production
Mo Williams scored three points on 1-of-6 shooting in Sunday's comeback, as the Blazers won in OT despite their bench combining for seven points on 14.3 percent shooting.
Portland's bench averaged a league-low 24.7 points per game during the regular season, so the lack of production is nothing new, but to come back in the series they'll need to get some production from Williams, Thomas Robinson, Dorell Wright and Joel Freeland.

Wed Apr 16 201420:52Mo Williams gets night off for Blazers
Mo Williams will rest in Wednesday's finale.
He's been dealing with some knee issues and is no spring chicken, so it makes sense for the Blazers to give him a rest. LaMarcus Aldridge will join him in street clothes.
