Joe Dumars has been met with a lot of criticism over the years after handing out numerous bad contracts, and he is not likely to be the GM in Detroit for much longer. However, to hire a guy who as general manager of the New York Knicks, built loser after loser, pulverized the team's cap structure and exposed Madison Square Garden to an eight-digit sexual-harassment lawsuit would be a questionable decision at best. We got a dose of 'good Josh' tonight, as he even hit 3-of-4 free throws to give his owners some love from the line for a change. He rarely shoots it this well, so owners should bask in the glory before he likely falls back to earth on Monday against the Warriors.

He was Cheeks' assistant in Philly and Portland, so chances are he's not going to be the long-term solution for the Pistons. The team reportedly fired coach Mo Cheeks without any particular replacement in mind, so Loyer could stick around for a while. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait a little while longer before we see Rasheed Wallace as a head coach.

After hitting just 9-of-30 shots in two games, he's caught fire over his last three, averaging 26.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocks on 34-of-62 shooting over his last three.

Greg Monroe is a more likely trade target, and he could earn a mint as a restricted FA this summer, but according to USA Today "it will take a major offer to convince the Pistons to part ways with Monroe just yet." The rumor mill is churning at full speed with the trade deadline less than two weeks away, and this isn't the last we'll hear about Smoove and Monroe as trade options.

Josh Smith suffered a right ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Friday's game and did not return.

He didn't go to the locker room right away and the training staff just put ice on his ankle. Smith stepped on Reggie Evans' foot and his ankle did not look to be seriously injured. His stat line was solid in the win, finishing with 23 points, eight boards, seven assists, four blocks, one steal and one 3-pointer in 35 minutes. He should be considered questionable for Saturday vs. Denver.
