Wed Dec 10 201422:43Garnett underwent X-rays on foot following Wednesday's game
Garnett underwent X-rays on his foot following Wednesday's game, Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News reports.
Garnett played 26 minutes Wednesday before heading for the X-rays, which came back negative. It's not yet clear if the injury will cost him any further action moving forward.
Sat Dec 6 201402:41Garnett (rest) returned to starting lineup Friday against Hawks
Garnett (rest) returned to the starting lineup Friday against the Hawks. He scored four points (2-5 FG) and grabbed six rebounds in 16 minutes.
The Nets were outscored 36-13 in the second quarter, and they never recovered. Losing so significantly, the who starting lineup played decreased minutes, especially Garnett. This game is not representative of what to expect of the aging veteran going forward.
Wed Dec 3 201417:58Kevin Garnett: (Rest) Out Wednesday
Garnett (rest) will not play Wednesday against the Spurs, ESPN New York's Mike Mazzeo reports.
It is the second day of a back-to-back, so the rest for Garnett makes sense. The saddest part of this news is that Garnett likely won't ever face Tim Duncan again, as the veteran is in the midst of his final season. Look for him to back in the starting lineup Friday against the Hawks.
Sat Nov 22 201413:48Kevin Garnett: (Rest) Will Miss First Game Of Season
Garnett will miss his first game of the season Saturday as scheduled rest, the New York Post reports.
The Nets are on the final leg of a back-to-back which is why Garnett will be given time off. As a result, Miles Plumlee, Mirza Teletovic, and Jerome Jordan will likely see more time on the court.

Garnett scored 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-2 FT), with 10 rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Suns.
Garnett racked up a double-double during the loss, and had a productive night. He's a pretty consistent power forward in most fantasy leagues, but won't post any massive numbers in the near future more than likely.

Garnett was plenty effective on Sunday, finishing with eight points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and a steal in 28 minutes.
In his later years, the aging Garnett isn'e leaned on heavily by his teams to put up the numbers that he used to. As a result he doesn't play heavy minutes and is usually rested heavily throughout the season to keep him fresh for the playoffs. While it is encouraging to see him still able to put up versatile numbers, he remains only an option for those looking for rebounding in deeper leagues.

Garnett had 18 points (7-15 FG, 4-4 FT) and 14 rebounds in 35 minutes in the win over the Pistons on Saturday.
Garnett had just 10 points and six rebounds in the opener, but stepped into the time machine against the Pistons. He helped get Andre Drummond in foul trouble, but fantasy owners should not expect these kind of numbers from the 20-year veteran.

Garnett (illness) started Wednesday and scored 10 points (5-8 FG) to go with 6 rebounds and 3 assist in 23 minutes of action.
KG had battled a particularly nasty stomach bug during the preseason, however he looked to be over that in the regular season debut. Garnett's 23 minutes are about what we should expect out of the 38 year-old, but it was a bit surprising he did not get a little more run with fellow big man Brook Lopez (foot) out. This illustrates that his age might be the biggest limiting factor on his fantasy production this season.

Garnett (illness) will miss the Nets' preseason finale Wednesday against the Celtics, the New York Post reports.
Garnett is battling a stomach virus that has kept him out of action for more than a week since the Nets returned from China. With the regular season not set to begin until next Wednesday, however, Garnett's absence is nothing to worry about, as it affords the veteran extra rest, if nothing else. Once healthy, Garnett is expected to open the season as the starting power forward under new coach Lionel Hollins.
Mon Oct 20 201413:15Garnett (illness) will miss Monday's game against 76ers
Garnett (illness) will miss Monday's game against the 76ers, the Wall Street Journal's Alex Raskin reports.
The stomach virus continues to sideline Garnett, but the team likely doesn't mind him sitting out preseason games, given the miles on his body. We would expect him to be ready for the start of the regular season, but it's something to keep an eye on.
Sun Oct 19 201413:45Kevin Garnett: (Stomach) Out Sunday
Garnett continues to deal with a stomach virus and will be held out of Sunday's game against the Celtics, the New York Daily News reports.
Garnett's issue with a stomach virus has lingered longer than most originally thought it would, but even so, it's not a type of illness that should affect him in the long term. His next opportunity to hit the court will be Monday against the 76ers.
Sat Oct 18 201412:14Garnett (illness) missed practice Saturday
Garnett (illness) missed practice Saturday, ESPN New York's Mike Mazzeo reports.
This was his second straight practice missed with a stomach virus, but it's unlikely to affect his status for the regular season.
Fri Oct 17 201413:02Garnett unable to practice Friday with stomach virus
Garnett was unable to practice Friday with a stomach virus, Mike Mazzeo of ESPN reports.
Garnett has stayed injury free this preseason and this absence should hardly scare away potential owners of the aging veteran. He'll likely return to the court in the near future but will be a game-time decision for Sunday's preseason contest against the Celtics.

Garnett is expecting to average more than 20 minutes per game at the allowance of new coach Lionel Hollins this season, the New York Post reports.
Garnett was under a minutes restriction last year under former coach Jason Kidd and averaged 20.5 minutes per game over 54 contests. The veteran would certainly deserve a bump in value if he were to see more time on the court this season than last. While his abilities as a 38-year-old will still limit his viability to deeper leagues, things are lining up in Garnett's favor after he had the worst statistical season of his career in 2013-14 with averages of 6.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

Garnett won't be under the minutes limitation in place during his initial season with the Nets in 2013-14, the Bergen Record reports. "[I'm letting] coach [Lionel Hollins] know that I'm not 18," Garnett said. "If you can, let's be on the same page as far as minutes and stuff like that, just so I have something to give."
Since Hollins was hired in the offseason, he's intimated that he won't be as strict as predecessor Jason Kidd with regard to Garnett's workload, which could be a boon to the big man's prospects, if he can bounce back to the 30 minutes per night he regularly received in Boston. Such a development could provide owners with decent, if not steady, point and rebounds totals, but defensive counting stats could oscillate from game to game. Nevertheless, how Garnett fares on the injury front will more than likely determine his eventual output.
Mon Sep 15 201418:36Garnett will start at power forward this season
Garnett will start at power forward this season, according to head coach Lionel Hollins, the New York Post reports.
The Nets aren't very deep at power forward, and starting Garnett will likely be more of a formality than anything else. He played only 21 minutes per game last season and doesn't figure to exceed that average this season, especially given the development of Mason Plumlee, who is coming off of an impressive summer with Team USA. Hollins is notorious for favoring veterans over young players, but Garnett is 38 years old and likely won't hold much fantasy value regardless of whether or not he starts.
Mon Jul 14 201410:12Report: Garnett 'excited' to play next season
Despite Brooklyn losing Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett reportedly likes the direction that the Nets are going, and is "excited" to suit up for next season.
The 2014-15 NBA season will be Garnett's 20th season in the NBA, and likely his last. There were questions about whether or not Garnett would return after his longtime running mate Paul Pierce elected to sign with the Wizards, but all the reports as of late have Garnett playing out the final year of his contract in which he will earn $12 million. Garnett is a ferocious competitor, but his best year's are behind him as he averaged career-lows across the board last season. He is no longer a fantasy option.

Sun Jul 13 201412:51'Strong sense' Kevin Garnett returns with BK
There is reportedly a "strong sense" that Kevin Garnett will be back with Brooklyn for the 2014-15 season.
Garnett will make $12 million in the final year of his contract, and he reportedly wants to play. Garnett averaged just 6.5 points, and 6.6 rebounds with the Nets last season, so he's off the fantasy radar.

Wed Jun 25 201413:11Nets expect Kevin Garnett to return next year
Nets GM Billy King is confident that Kevin Garnett will return for the 2014-15 season.
KG is slated to earn $12 million in the final year of his contract, which is a compelling reason to delay retirement for one season, and King has expected him to return for weeks. Fantasy owners should avoid the 15-time All-Star given his dwindling role on the court -- he averaged 20.5 minutes in 54 appearances last season, and was a daily candidate for a DNP.

Mon Jun 23 201413:14Nets hopeful KG will return next season
The Nets are quietly optimistic that Kevin Garnett will be back next season.
It's more about KG helping the case to re-sign Paul Pierce because he certainly won't be worth the $12 million he's due based on pure statistical production. Garnett played just 20.8 minutes per game in the postseason, so it's not like the Nets were resting him much like the Spurs did with Tim Duncan. He's not a fantasy option in standard leagues.
