Fri Feb 7 201423:19Danny Granger doesn't do much in start
Danny Granger made his second start of the season with Lance Stephenson (back) out on Friday, scoring seven points with six boards, three assists, two blocks and one turnover on 3-of-10 shooting in 40 minutes.
His usage rate is worse when he plays with the starters and the Pacers are obviously not comfortable running plays for him too often. Granger is a shell of himself and doesn't have much fantasy value in almost any format. What's more, Stephenson is only day-to-day, making Granger an undesirable pickup.

Fri Feb 7 201411:28Danny Granger to start for Stephenson Friday
Danny Granger will start Friday's game against the Blazers.
Lance Stephenson will not dress due to his bruised lower back, and is day to day going forward. This will be Granger's second start this season. The first time (Jan. 8 at Atlanta), he posted 14 points, five rebounds, three assists, one block, one steal and one 3-pointer. Granger is a shell of his former All-Star self, but his game remains fantasy friendly. He's a steal in FanDuel formats at a $3600 price tag.

Tue Feb 4 201422:39Danny Granger cools off on Tuesday
Danny Granger played 23 minutes and hit 2-of-7 shots for eight points, four rebounds and one assist in a win over the Hawks.
We expected Granger to become more of a factor once Lance Stephenson left the game with a frightening fall in the third quarter, but Granger never got it going. He had 16 point and three 3-pointers on Monday, but played more like he has been tonight. If Stephenson misses Friday's game against the Blazers, Granger will be an interesting daily play, but we're guessing Stephenson will be ready for that one despite his lower back injury.

Mon Feb 3 201421:54Danny Granger scores a team-high 16 points
Danny Granger scored a team-high 16 points against the Magic during an easy 98-79 win on Monday, adding four boards, three assists and three 3-pointers in 25 minutes.
He has been a ghost on both ends of the court and in the stat sheet lately, averaging 8.1 points, 3.6 boards, 1.2 assists, 0.5 blocks, 0.0 steals and 1.1 triples on 36.3 percent from the field. Granger is not the same player he was before his knee issues and is not worth owning in most leagues until he can really string some games together.

Wed Jan 29 201402:10Danny Granger scores 10 points in win
Danny Granger hit just 3-of-10 shots, but also drained a couple 3-pointers for 10 points, six rebounds and one assist in Tuesday's win.
Granger helped the Pacers on a night when Paul George couldn't hit a shot. Granger didn't exactly burn the nets up tonight, but hit big shots when it mattered. He's still too shaky to be relied upon in most fantasy leagues, but is an injury to a teammate away from becoming relevant again.

Tue Jan 21 201401:29Danny Granger disappears in win
Danny Granger played just 18 minutes against the Warriors on Monday with two points, five boards, one assist and one block.
He shot 1-of-5 from the field and coach Frank Vogel may have finally seen enough after giving him 24.4 minutes per game in his previous games this month. Granger's agility is shot, he's been exposed on defense and he's really nothing more than a spot-up shooter. He's not worth owning in almost any league.

Sat Jan 18 201422:32Danny Granger still can't score vs. LAC
Danny Granger's offensive struggles continued on Saturday vs. the Clippers with 12 points, four boards, two assists, one block and two 3-pointers.
He shot just 4-of-13 from the field in 27 minutes of action. Granger just can't beat guys off the dribble anymore and he was starting to get phased out of the offense a little. Monday's game against the Warriors will make it one month since his season debut and he's done very little to suggest he's going to come around. Leave him on the wire most leagues.

Fri Jan 10 201421:56Granger chills out in 19-minute effort
Danny Granger hit just 1-of-7 shots on Friday, finishing with two points, three rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes.
Granger also did not record a steal or block and this steals away much of the relative momentum he had acquired since returning. This awful night could be any number of things including conditioning, aggravation to past injury, rust or the return of Lance Stephenson. If you were in a deep league and added him you may want to call this a speed bump, and if you were considering him it's time to simply watch.

Wed Jan 8 201422:15Danny Granger plays well in start for Pacers
Danny Granger started with Lance Stephenson nursing a knee injury and hit 4-of-10 shots for 14 points, five rebounds, three assists, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer in 32 minutes on Wednesday.
He's played 32 minutes in two straight games and while we still don't fully trust him, he's officially playing well enough to be given a close look in fantasy leagues. He's scored in double figures in five straight games and is averaging 12.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.4 3-pointers over that stretch. Keep in mind he benefitted from Stephenson's absence tonight, and Stephenson is still iffy for Friday, according to coach Frank Vogel.

Wed Jan 8 201418:36Danny Granger will start vs. Hawks
Danny Granger will start against the Hawks on Wednesday.
It will be his first start of the season and he's coming off a season-high 32 minutes on Tuesday. Granger still has doesn't look to be back to his old self and he's really struggled in driving past guys and getting his own shot, but he's looked a little better. We'll let you know how he does tonight.

Tue Jan 7 201423:56Danny Granger plays 32 minutes in win
Danny Granger played a season-high 32 minutes on Tuesday and finished with 13 points, six rebounds, a steal and a 3-pointer on 5-of-10 shooting.
There's no telling how long he'll be able to stay healthy, but if he's going to be getting between 25 and 30 minutes per game, he's worth a close look in fantasy leagues, as he should only get better from here, assuming he can actually stay out of street clothes.

Sun Jan 5 201421:08Danny Granger plays 26 minutes vs. Cavs
Danny Granger played a season-high 26 minutes against the Cavs on Sunday with 10 points, three rebounds, one assist and two 3-pointers.
He still can't get to the basket and create much offense on his own, but at least he's getting some bigger minutes. Granger is down to just 35.9 percent shooting on the season and is still not worth stashing in standard leagues. Simply put, he's not the same player as he was before his injury-plagued 2012-13 season.

Sat Jan 4 201423:09Danny Granger scores 13 points
Danny Granger scored a season-high 13 points during Saturday's 99-82 win over the Pelicans, adding five boards, one assist, one steal and two 3-pointers.
He played 21 minutes and shot 4-of-7 from the field. Granger's minutes have held steady at 21.0 per game on the year and it's still going to be a while before the Pacers really allow him to play over 24 on a consistent basis. He can be left on the wire in standard leagues.

Wed Jan 1 201421:55Danny Granger hits double digits again
Danny Granger had 11 points, two rebounds, three assists, a steal and a 3-pointer on 4-of-7 shooting in 23 minutes on Wednesday.
Granger scored 12 on Tuesday and while Lance Stephenson has been quiet in those two games, we're not ready to hit the panic button on Stephenson just yet. We're also not convinced Granger can stay healthy, but if he keeps playing this well and Stephenson struggles in a couple more, we might change our tune.

Tue Dec 24 201301:07Danny Granger can't score in 15 minutes
Danny Granger shot 0-of-7 from the field for no points with two boards and one block in 15 minutes against the Nets on Monday.
He didn't have any legs under his shot and didn't look healthy. Granger only played five games last year and he's going to take a long while to get back to his ways of being a reliable scorer. The Pacers have no reason to mess with their rotation and Granger is one of the riskiest players in terms of health, so he's not exactly worth owning in standard leagues.

Sun Dec 22 201320:38Granger hits four 3-pointers in 25 minutes
Danny Granger played 25 minutes in his second game of the season on Sunday, scoring 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting from downtown with five rebounds and one block.
Granger shot 1-of-7 from the field with five turnovers in his debut but looked much more assured tonight. While it's unlikely that he'll overtake Lance Stephenson at SG (Larry Bird recently said Stephenson has "earned" the job), fantasy owners in need of scoring and 3s might want to take Granger for a spin.

Sun Dec 22 201310:08Larry Bird honestly appraises Danny Granger
Pacers president Larry Bird envisions Danny Granger coming off the bench all season, adding, "It all boils down to how he defends, and that'll determine how many minutes he gets."
Bird also said that while he's not actively trying to trade Danny Granger, he would consider any deal that "would help the franchise." That is the logical stance of every GM in the league, so it doesn't mean too much, and it's quite possible that Indy will keep their veteran and let his deal expire this summer. Bird went on to praise his toughness and perimeter shooting before once again pointing out the elephant in the room -- "What we're going to need is for him to defend."

Sat Dec 21 201300:50Granger predictably quiet in return to action
Danny Granger (calf) returned to action in Friday's 114-81 blowout win over the Rockets, scoring five points on 1-of-7 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and five turnovers in 22 minutes off the bench.
Granger has never been an elite defensive producer but he used to be decent, and perhaps there is a path to value if he decides to focus on some steals, blocks and threes. But that's a lot of ifs for a guy with plenty of risk and a likely 20-25 minute role for the rest of the year. If you were wondering about Lance Stephenson, he scored 16 points with six boards, six assists and two threes tonight.

Thu Dec 19 201315:05Granger will play Friday, likely 15-20 mins
Pacers coach Frank Vogel confirmed that Danny Granger (calf) will make his season debut on Friday.
Granger will likely be limited to 15-20 minutes and conditioning may be his biggest concern, at least initially. His return is bad news for Rasual Butler's small bench role, but we doubt he'll have an appreciable impact on Lance Stephenson or Paul George.

Thu Dec 19 201310:40Danny Granger to cut into Paul George's mins?
Danny Granger (calf) may assume some of Paul George's minutes upon his return in an effort to keep George's overall minutes down.
Coach Frank Vogel would like to make sure that Paul George isn't close to 40 minutes a game and will use Granger to help fill that void. "We'll take all the backup wing minutes and give those to Danny and let him work his way in and we'll take it from there," Vogel said. "Just playing Danny Granger 10 minutes a game is probably not enough." George owners need not worry about this news as the Pacers' star will still have plenty of opportunities to shine. This could be interesting for Granger, however, as he should become fantasy-relevant again if his minutes start to creep up towards 25 per game. He's not worth a pickup in shallower leagues just yet, but this news should put him on watch lists.
