Thu Feb 6 201400:56Shawn Marion returns, plays 33 minutes
Shawn Marion (shoulder) returned from a two-game absence on Wednesday with eight points, two boards, one assist, three steals and two 3-pointers in 33 minutes.
It's not the greatest line in the world, but the output in steals and treys made this more than just useful in fantasy formats. Marion's versatility in the stat sheet has made him one of the best fantasy players in the past decade and he's still a sneaky must-own player in all standard leagues.

Wed Feb 5 201419:54Shawn Marion in the starting lineup vs. MEM
Shawn Marion is back in the starting lineup against the Grizzlies on Wednesday.
He was expected to play barring any setbacks and should be fine after missing two games with a sore shoulder. Marion has been terrific in fantasy leagues this year with across-the-board production despite his 35-year-old frame. He should be owned in all standard leagues.

Shawn Marion (shoulder) said that he'll play on Wednesday barring any setbacks.
The injury has nagged at Marion for weeks now and it might be something he has to manage and play through until the offseason, but for now he's feeling good enough to suit up. Jae Crowder will shift back to a reserve role upon Marion's return.

Mon Feb 3 201419:39Shawn Marion (shoulder) ruled out on Monday
Shawn Marion (shoulder) has officially been ruled out on Monday.
He is hopeful to play on Wednesday night vs. the Grizzlies. Marion's shoulder has been a problem for much of 2014 and maybe the time off will help him get back to 100 percent. Jae Crowder will start and is a decent source for steals and 3-pointers in standard leagues.

He remains questionable to play in Monday's game vs. Cleveland, but a report like this seems to push the needle towards unlikely. Check back for more updates closer to the tip on Monday.

Fri Jan 31 201411:57Shawn Marion will rest sore shoulder vs. SAC
Shawn Marion (shoulder) will not play in Friday's game against the Kings.
Marion originally hurt his right (shooting) shoulder on Jan. 7 and sat out four games. But he's been a shell of himself since returning, averaging just 10.0 points and 5.9 rebounds per night. Now he's going to rest in an attempt to get back closer to 100 percent. Look for Jae Crowder, Brandan Wright and Vince Carter to chop up his minutes as part of a low-upside timeshare.

Mon Jan 20 201416:29Shawn Marion scores 18 points in win
Shawn Marion didn't finish Monday's game after playing one of his better games of the season, making 7-of-8 from the field for 18 points, three boards, one assist, one steal and two 3-pointers.
He was taken out of the game and was seen on the bench in some pain. The team announced he was just sick, as is an upset stomach and not "sick" like the kids are saying these days. No matter what you call the Matrix, he's having a great season and should be owned in all leagues. It's worth adding Marion has been hot from deep in his four games since his shoulder injury, making 8-of-12 from beyond the arc. He should be considered probable for Wednesday.

Sat Jan 18 201402:03The Matrix returns to Phoenix in style
Shawn Marion played well against his former team on Friday with 16 points, seven boards, two assists and three 3-pointers in 36 minutes vs. Phoenix.
He hit a clutch 3-pointer in the corner tonight and was active on both ends. Marion is a bit of an under-the-radar fantasy stud and is an integral part of Dallas' plan this season, so he shouldn't be on any waiver wires.

Shawn Marion (shoulder, ribs) went through shootaround on Wednesday.
He practiced on Tuesday and expects to be in the lineup vs. the Clippers on Wednesday night. Marion was putting up some terrific numbers, so he shouldn't be sitting on any waiver wires in standard formats. His return will decrease the playing time of Jae Crowder.

Shawn Marion (shoulder, ribs) will not play against the Magic on Monday.
This will be his fourth game out of the lineup with his shoulder injury. All the tests have been negative and Marion is just day-to-day for now. Jae Crowder and Vince Carter should benefit from Marion staying off the court tonight.

Mon Jan 13 201411:53Shawn Marion (shoulder, ribs) game-time Mon.
Shawn Marion (ribs, shoulder) will be a game-time decision on Monday.
He did go through shootaround, which is encouraging, but we're unlikely to get a definitive update until pre-game warmups. Jae Crowder will continue as the Mavs' primary SF if Marion isn't ready, but Crowder is averaging a mere 6.8 points and 3.5 minutes as a starter.

Sat Jan 11 201419:03Shawn Marion (shoulder, ribs) out Saturday
Shawn Marion (shoulder, ribs) will not play against the Pelicans on Saturday.
It will be his third game out of the lineup after a brutal fall in Tuesday's game. Marion has been putting up mid-round value in fantasy leagues, so his owners should just hope he can suit up for Monday's game vs. Orlando. Jae Crowder and Vince Carter will pick up the slack tonight.

Fri Jan 10 201413:22Shawn Marion out Friday, doubtful Saturday
Shawn Marion (ribs, shoulder) is out on Friday and doubtful for Saturday.
The bruises on Marion's right side are severe enough that it looks like he's going to miss at least three games. Perhaps he'll target Monday's home game against the Magic for his return. There's not much meat to chew on in his absence as Wayne Ellington and Jae Crowder have struggled.
