Ellington got the start at shooting guard Monday, scoring 13 points (5-12 FG, 2-3 3P, 1-1 FT) with five rebounds in 29 minutes during a loss to the Trail Blazers.
Kobe Bryant was getting a rest on the second night of a back-to-back, so Ellington got the nod and put up his usual production when he's afforded starter's minutes. Unless he's getting those minutes though, his fantasy value is extremely limited.

Ellington had eight points (3-6 FG, 2-4 3Pt), three rebounds, and four assists in 16 minutes Tuesday night against the Nuggets.
As many predicted, Ellington's production has come crashing back to earth since Kobe Bryant returned from rest. Ellington has just 10 points in 31 minutes in the two games since Bryant's return and isn't a viable option for your roster.

Ellington scored 12 points (4-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT) for a third consecutive game and added on five boards, three assists and two steals Friday against the Mavericks, starting once again with Kobe Bryant (rest) out.
Bryant is going to come back in the next game or two, presumably, so Ellington's increased playing time will be short-lived. In his past three games, Ellington has combined for just 12 rebounds and three steals, so he's not filling the box score enough to be used in daily leagues either with Bryant out.

Ellington made his second-straight start Christmas Day in place of Kobe Bryant (rest) and was able to contribute 12 points, two rebounds, and two assists during his 35 minutes on the court.
Bryant seems to be dealing with general soreness and could return to the lineup at any time, although he's already considered doubtful to play Friday against the Mavericks. As a result, Ellington will likely continue to see additional time on the court for as long as Bryant stays sidelined.
Thu Dec 25 201420:12Ellington making second straight spot start at shooting guard in...
Ellington is making a second straight spot start at shooting guard in place of Kobe Bryant on Thursday, the Lakers' official site reports.
Ellington started Tuesday's win over the Warriors, too. He put up 12 points and five rebounds in 25 minutes. Bryant is unlikely to miss much time, so Ellington's increased value will likely be restricted to leagues with daily moves.
Wed Dec 24 201401:01Ellington logged 25 minutes Tuesday in Kobe Bryant's stead
Ellington logged 25 minutes Tuesday in Kobe Bryant's stead. He scored 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt) to go along with five rebounds and two assists.
Ellington was averaging 16.7 minutes coming into Tuesday night's game. It's not likely that he'll have this amount of minutes on a regular basis moving forward as long as Kobe Bryant is healthy. Nick Young also saw a bump in minutes Tuesday night, logging 30 minutes after averaging 25 minutes per game coming in to the contest.
Tue Dec 23 201420:59Wayne Ellington: Will Start Tuesday
Ellington will start in place of Kobe Bryant (rest) on Tuesday against the Warriors.
Ellington is averaging 16.7 minutes per game this season, although that number will likely increase after the completion of Tuesday's game. However, Nick Young will likely absorb some of Bryant's normal minutes as well, so Ellington's opportunities on the court might be curbed in that respect.

Ellington played in his first game Friday since his father was murdered last weekend.
Ellington came off the bench to contribute eight points (3-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT)and two rebounds in twelve minutes. With Nick Young's return earlier this week, it may take a few games for the Lakers to settle upon a new wings rotation.
Fri Nov 21 201419:11Ellington (personal) available
Ellington (personal) is available, but probably won't play Friday, Mike Trudell of Lakers.com reports.
Ellington rejoined the Lakers Thursday after his father was murdered last weekend. He'll be available to play Friday, but it's highly likely he's held out. His next chance to play would be Sunday if he doesn't play Friday.
Fri Nov 21 201413:48Ellington (personal) rejoined Lakers Thursday
Ellington (personal) rejoined the Lakers Thursday, but is questionable for Friday's game against the Mavericks, Orange County Register's Bill Oram reports.
Ellington was allowed to take temporary leave after his father was murdered last weekend. He's missed five games now, and will be questionable for Friday. If he does play, he'll continue to serve as a a reserve and play around the 20 minutes he's averaged so far this season. If he doesn't participate Friday, it seems as if he would be able to play in the Lakers' next game Sunday against the Denver Nuggets.
Tue Nov 18 201418:18Ellington (personal) will rejoin Lakers on Thursday
Ellington (personal) will rejoin the Lakers on Thursday, the Orange County Register's Bill Oram reports.
This means he should be able to return to his reserve role in Friday's game in Dallas after missing over a week due to a personal matter.
Tue Nov 18 201413:12Ellington (personal) expected to rejoin Lakers later this week
Ellington (personal) is expected to rejoin the Lakers later this week, Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Ellington was granted a leave of absence from the team following the tragic murder of his father in Philadelphia last weekend, and he's missed the last four games. If he returns Wednesday, he could be available against the Rockets. Otherwise, Friday against Dallas may be more realistic.

Ellington was granted an indefinite leave of absence from the team following the murder of his father Sunday in Philadelphia.
Ellington's father was shot and killed, and it's understandable that Ellington will take some time away from the court to deal with this tragedy.

Ellington scored 13 points (6-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 0-0 FT) in 25 minutes for the Lakers despite suffering a concussion on Friday.
Ellington was cleared to play in Wednesday's loss to the Suns, and backed up Kobe Bryant all night. However, his value ended after his scoring. Ellington didn't have a single assists, and had just one rebound and one assist. Barring an injury to Bryant, Ellington will be relegated to bench minutes.
Wed Oct 29 201419:22Ellington (concussion) available to play Wednesday against Suns
Ellington (concussion) is available to play Wednesday against the Suns, Lakers reporter Mike Trudell reports.
The Lakers will only have 11 players in uniform, so there's a good chance Ellington sees some run off the bench.

Ellington (concussion) will not play in Tuesday's opener against the Rockets, Bill Oram of the OC Register reports.
Ellington sustained a concussion during Friday's preseason finale against the Kings, and coach Byron Scott initially labeled him "dicey" to play in the opener. He's now officially ruled out, which should mean an even bigger workload for Kobe Bryant and Nick Young in the short term. Consider Ellington questionable to play Wednesday in Phoenix.

Ellington suffered a concussion in the Lakers' preseason finale against the Kings in Las Vegas on Friday, InsideSoCal.com reports.
Ellington (concussion) is set to evaluated over the weekend, but due to the nature of his injury, will need to pass the league's concussion protocol before he is able to resume practice and playing. Coach Byron Scott said it was "dicey" that Ellington would be right to go for Tuesday's opener against the Rockets, further depleting the Lakers' backcourt, which is missing Nick Young (thumb), Xavier Henry (knee), and possibly, Ronnie Price (knee). Even when healthy, though, Ellington is a fantasy option only in super-deep formats.

Ellington dropped 12 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT) in the Lakers' blowout loss to the Warriors, adding two rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 28 minutes Sunday.
Ellington has now seen over 24 minutes in all three preseason games, but this was his most productive game from a scoring perspective. He's managed to grab at least one steal in all three games, but is likely getting extended run due to the injuries to Nick Young (thumb) and Xavier Henry (back) and when they return, will likely go back to an insignificant role, and therefore, out of consideration for most leagues.
Mon Sep 22 201418:48Wayne Ellington: Signs With Lakers
Ellington officially signed with the Lakers on Monday.
Ellington will likely be buried on the depth chart behind Kobe Bryant, Nick Young, Xavier Henry, Jordan Clarkson and Wesley Johnson at shooting guard. However, we witnessed the Lakers' backcourt get spread thin last season with injuries, so anything is possible. As for now, the 26-year-old will start out at the bottom of the pecking order and should stay off most radars during fantasy drafts.
Thu Sep 4 201412:29Ellington waived by Kings
Ellington has been waived by the Kings, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.
Ellington has already switched teams twice this offseason, but will need to search for yet another team for the upcoming season. His fantasy value appeared weak behind a couple young guards in Sacramento, but now he has the opportunity to sign with a team that can make use of his 3-point shooting.
