Tue Nov 16 201015:21Jonny Flynn (hip) won't play Wednesday
Jonny Flynn (hip) didn't practice on Tuesday and will not play in Wednesday's game.
Flynn is day-to-day and is worth keeping an eye on if you're in need of a PG, but his appeal is seriously dampened by the presence of Luke Ridnour and even Sebastian Telfair.

Mon Nov 15 201018:51Wolves' Flynn not ready for action yet
Jonny Flynn isn't expected back on Wednesday as he continues to recover from hip surgery.
Luke Ridnour, out with a hamstring injury, now sounds likely for that game, while Flynn will remain day-to-day. "I don't think he's physically ready to play," Kurt Rambis said of Flynn.

Thu Nov 11 201016:38Jonny Flynn targeting Wednesday for return
Jonny Flynn (hip) is targeting Wednesday's game against the Clippers for his season debut.
With Luke Ridnour (hamstring) considered week-to-week, Flynn should be on a roster in all formats at this point. He should get plenty of burn as the point guard of the future even if he ends up in a timeshare with Ridnour. Flynn's return will also end brief fantasy relevance of Sebastian Telfair. Flynn has 15 points, five assists upside to go with a three and a steal.

Wed Nov 10 201010:30Flynn not likely to be back this week
Jonny Flynn (hip) hinted that he is not likely to return this week.
Coach Kurt Rambis conceded that nobody knows exactly when Flynn will be back. It could be next week, or it could be three weeks down the line. It sounds like Flynn will be reevaluated Monday. In the meantime, Sebastian Telfair is going to log heavy minutes nightly as Luke Ridnour (hamstring) is also out. Telfair is worth a look as a short-term helper in all formats.

Tue Nov 9 201011:15Flynn's status still unclear
Jonny Flynn (hip) could return in just days or in a couple weeks, according to beat writer Jerry Zgoda.
In other words, Flynn is taking it day-by-day. With Luke Ridnour (hamstring) sidelined, Flynn has a golden opportunity to get back and seize the job. The problem is that previous reports don't have him back until late this month. Flynn remains a roster stash.

Thu Nov 4 201009:48Flynn wants to scrimmage Thursday
Johnny Flynn (hip) says that if the Wolves scrimmage Thursday, he'll be there to participate.
Flynn is chomping at the bit to get back out there. He is obviously healthy and the time is now to add him. Luke Ridnour isn't to blame for the Wolves' ugly 1-4 start, but Flynn is the future. Flynn should push for 25-30 minutes once he gets up to speed.

Tue Nov 2 201019:46Flynn (hip) a little tight after practice
Jonny Flynn said he was experiencing a little tightness in his hip after his first full-contact practice on Monday, but called the feeling normal and said he's feeling good.
He's being limited to 30-35 minutes of contact practice and was set to go for five minutes during the team's scrimmage but it was canceled due to court conditions. He's targeting a mid-to-late November return, and nothing we've seen has him missing that time-frame.

Mon Nov 1 201019:05Flynn (hip) returns to full contact practice
Jonny Flynn (hip) returned to full contact practice on Monday, and said afterward "it feels good, still not going full 100 percent, about 80."
He has been targeting a return in mid-to-late November, and by this quote we're inclined to think he's on target. When he returns he will likely be in a timeshare with Luke Ridnour, so he's not a must-grab guy by any means, and Ridnour's owners should have been selling from day one, anyway.

Wed Oct 27 201018:12Flynn (hip) starts limited practice Tuesday
Jonny Flynn, who underwent hip surgery this summer, participated in his first "light" practice on Tuesday, and is still targeting a return in mid-to-late November.
Next week he can begin contact workouts and from there we'll know more about his return date. He will need to work his way back into the rotation, and there is no guarantee that he will takeover starting PG duties from Luke Ridnour.

Wed Oct 27 201009:41Flynn targeting mid-November
Jonny Flynn (hip) is targeting mid-November for his season debut.
Flynn took two months off from jumping or any serious athletic activity, so there is going to be a significant adjustment period. He'll gradually be eased in before battling Luke Ridnour for the starting job. Flynn remains a stash candidate for now.

Tue Oct 26 201013:53Jonny Flynn to resume full practice next week
Jonny Flynn (hip) has been cleared for limited practice now and is expected to resume full activity next week.
That November return is looking more and more likely. Once Flynn gets back in a full practice, it shouldn't be too much longer before we see him in games. Current starter Luke Ridnour is going to have his hands full trying to hang on to the starting job, and an even timeshare will likely be the end result. Flynn's 13.5 points and 4.4 assists per game from last year are well within reach once healthy.

Tue Oct 19 201012:02Flynn headed to doctor
Jonny Flynn (hip) will go to Vail, Colo. on Monday for a checkup.
Flynn is going to see the doctor that performed his surgery. If all goes well, Flynn may be cleared to finally start running and jumping. That early November timetable remains a possibility, meaning Luke Ridnour could be splitting time with Flynn sooner rather than later.

Thu Oct 14 201020:13Flynn to have hip re-evaluated Oct 25
Jonny Flynn is scheduled to have his surgically repaired hip re-evaluated on Oct. 25.
He has not yet been cleared for anything light drills and shooting without jumping. He's targeting a November return, at which time he'll start competing with Luke Ridnour for minutes. A time-share is likely in order, but there are no guarantees at this point.

Mon Oct 11 201020:57Flynn starts stand-up shooting Monday
Jonny Flynn (hip surgery) started to take shots while standing still on Monday, and will travel with the team to Syracuse for Friday's preseason game.
He's still a ways from playing and is currently targeting a return sometime in November, but any news like this is good news. Unfortunately for his fantasy prospects, he'll be following up last year's uninspiring campaign as the backup to newly acquired Luke Ridnour.

Sun Sep 26 201010:14Jonny Flynn hoping to debut in November
Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis hopes that Jonny Flynn (hip surgery) will make his season debut sometime in November.
Flynn continues to rehab the injury and we're not likely to hear much more until he has a follow-up appointment on October 18. In the meantime, Luke Ridnour will pick up the slack as the Wolves' starting PG.

Fri Sep 24 201015:23Flynn not traveling to Europe, rehab instead
Jonny Flynn will not accompany the Timberwolves to Europe and will instead stay home to continue rehab on his surgically repaired hip.
Luke Ridnour is currently the starting point guard for the T-Wolves, and should be targeted in front of Flynn in fantasy leagues this year.

Tue Sep 21 201010:40No time frame on Flynn
Wolves coach Kurt Rambis said that Jonny Flynn (hip) is "progressing nicely," but offered no timetable for the point guard's return.
Flynn is very questionable for the start of the regular season and likely will miss most of camp. Luke Ridnour remains the expected opening night starting point guard, with Flynn batting for minutes once healthy. It's a fantasy situation to avoid.

Tue Aug 31 201016:27Jonny Flynn (hip) finally off crutches
Jonny Flynn wrote on Tuesday that he is finally off crutches, six weeks after having hip surgery.
Flynn had a pool workout and seems to be on pace with his rehab, but there is still a chance that he'll miss the start of the season. Don't expect to see him during training camp or the preseason but hopefully we'll get more positive updates.

Tue Jul 27 201014:10Jonny Flynn has hip surgery, out 3-4 months
Timberwolves point guard Jonny Flynn had left hip surgery on Tuesday. There is no specific timetable but he is expected to miss about three-to-four months.
Flynn was injured in the second-to-last game of the 2009-10 season, then aggravated the injury while working out with the team before summer league. His injury vaults Luke Ridnour into the starting lineup, and could mean that Sebastian Telfair will stick around as a backup PG.
