Tue Nov 23 201003:38R-Willie getting some run off the bench
Reggie Williams played 30 minutes off the bench on Monday, scoring 16 points on 4-of-13 shooting (1-of-7 from downtown) with one rebound and two assists.
He is inconsistent coming off the bench, but he has been getting about 25 minutes per game in his last four games and has scoring outputs of 14, 18, five, and tonight's 16 points. We know where he plays and we know he can get hot, and for those reasons he's worth consideration in most formats.
Sat Nov 20 201002:03Reggie Williams has big fourth quarter
Reggie Williams got hot in the fourth quarter to finish with 18 points, five rebounds and four 3-pointers on 6-of-9 shooting in a loss to the Knicks.
Williams hasn't gotten much love from Keith Smart this season, but made his case tonight. However, he'll have to do this a couple more times before we're convinced he's turned the corner.
Tue Nov 16 201004:02R-Willie gets 30 minutes of run vs. Pistons
Reggie Williams got 30 minutes of run with the Warriors' starting backcourt in foul trouble, and scored 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting (including two threes) with one rebound, two assists, and a block.
It's nice that he had a semi-serviceable line, but the fact it took both Stephen Curry and Monta Ellis getting into foul trouble to see this level of production isn't so endearing. Keep an eye on him, but he's not worth owning until he shows us more.
Sun Nov 14 201004:01R-Willie scores 11 points with five boards
Reggie Williams scored 11 points on 4-of-11 shooting with five rebounds, two treys, and no assists in 24 minutes off the bench on Saturday.
Once Monta Ellis (back) returned to action miraculously on Wednesday, a lot of Williams' fantasy appeal was lost. Based on production alone, he has not done enough to be worth owning in standard-sized leagues. He is worth keeping an eye on, though, because of the upside he has in the W's offense.
Tue Nov 9 201000:26R-Willie in line for minutes if Ellis is out
Reggie Williams played just eight minutes on Monday, scoring two points on free throws with three rebounds and one assist, but could be in line for more consistent minutes if Monta Ellis' back injury is serious.
He has been very inconsistent with Ellis, Stephen Curry, and Dorell Wright holding things down on the perimeter, but he has enough standalone value that combined with the potential for Ellis to miss time he is a must-own at this point.
Thu Nov 4 201003:58Reggie Williams moves to bench, blows up
Reggie Williams was pulled from a starting job (where he was replacing Steph Curry at point guard) and had 16 points, four rebounds, a career-high eight assists, a steal and two 3-pointers on 5-of-11 shooting Wednesday.
It figures that he drops eight dimes off the bench after struggling as the starting point guard in his last one. He's about ready to turn it on and the Warriors have found the right spot for him. He looks like an excellent pick up at this point.
Wed Nov 3 201009:35Williams won't start at PG
Coach Keith Smart said that Reggie Williams will not longer serve as a point guard.
That means Williams won't start in place of Steph Curry (ankle) Wednesday night. "I'm not fooling anyone by trying to make Reggie into a point guard, because that takes away from his natural game," Smart said. This is a blow to Williams' already meager value. Look for something around 20-24 minutes tonight.

Mon Nov 1 201001:27Reggie Williams struggles in start for GSW
Reggie Williams started in place of injured point guard Stephen Curry Sunday, but hit just 2-of-6 shots for five points, three boards, four assists, a steal and a 3-pointer in a blowout loss to the Lakers.
Oh well. We were excited about his start, but he failed to live up to the hype. He's still an interesting fantasy player to own and will suddenly get it going at some point this season, even if coming off the bench.
Sat Oct 30 201019:25Williams probable starter for Sunday's game
Beat writer Matt Steinmetz believes that Reggie Williams will draw the start in place of injured Stephen Curry (ankle) in Sunday's game.
So do we. He has picked up backup PG duties ahead of Jeremy Lin and at this point he should be owned in most leagues. He may only start for a game, but he could solidify his presence in the rotation and carry that momentum over to when he returns to the bench.

Sat Oct 30 201002:23Warriors' Williams could start at PG
Reggie Williams got 26 minutes off the Warriors bench on Friday, but managed just five points and three assists on 2-of-6 shooting.
He did have a steal, three and block tonight, and could be ready to start a couple games at point guard if Stephen Curry will miss time with his ankle injury. He's not a must-own player, but could be on the verge of breaking out. Take a look at him if he's available in a deep league.
Mon Oct 25 201020:48Williams to see some minutes at the point
Reggie Williams may see some point guard duties when Stephen Curry and Monta Ellis are not on the court this season.
He had eight assists against the Lakers on Friday, and news like this can only help his value. "Reggie can play some point guard when he's in game situations and you can't put your hands on him," said Keith Smart. "That was a big plus and a big surprise, because I was a little suspect at first."

Sat Oct 23 201001:31Reggie Williams goes for 27 & 8 in start
Reggie Williams started at shooting guard for injured Dorell Wright Friday and hit 8-of-14 shots, two 3-pointers and 9-of-9 free throws for 27 points, eight rebounds and two steals.
Raise your hand if you'd like to see Williams start over Wright. Williams should get plenty of minutes off the bench this season and still qualifies as a deep sleeper. And given the fact Wright's never proved himself despite plenty of opportunities, Williams could end up starting at some point.
Fri Oct 22 201002:39Reggie (groin) returns for Warriors Thursday
Reggie Williams (groin) returned to action on Thursday, scoring 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting with three rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 20 minutes off the bench.
The groin injury put the brakes on any preseason hype he has gotten, but he has performed well enough for us to remain optimistic about his ability to score and hit threes off the bench. Chances are he'll be available in the last few rounds of your draft.
Tue Oct 19 201004:15Williams (groin) misses Monday's game
Reggie Williams missed his second straight game Monday against the Blazers due to a groin injury.
Rodney Carney took his place off the bench and had nine points on 4-of-6 shooting. The injury doesn't sound serious, but it's keeping owners from evaluating him in the new Warriors system. We're optimistic that he'll have a good year, but we're relegated to taking him as a flier pick.

Sun Oct 17 201005:50Williams (groin) held from Saturday's game
Reggie Williams, who was a game-time decision because of a groin injury, did not play on Saturday against the Blazers.
His 20-point performance last week showed he still has the magic, but owners do have to take a small leap of faith that he will keep it up this year under new head coach Keith Smart. The groin injury doesn't help matters, but there are worse players to take in the later rounds of your draft.
Fri Oct 15 201017:41Reggie Williams (groin) game-time for Sat.
Warriors swingman Reggie Williams (groin) is a game-time decision for Saturday's game against Portland.
Groin injuries tend to linger, but hopefully Williams won't be endangered for the start of the regular season. He remains a solid sleeper candidate after last year's brilliant late-season performance, but might have to win over new head coach Keith Smart.

Sat Oct 9 201003:15Williams scores 20 off the bench vs. Clips
Reggie Williams poured in 20 points off the bench in the Warriors' 127-87 route of the Clippers on Friday, hitting 7-of-16 shots from the field (including four 3-balls) with three rebounds and one assist in just 22 minutes.
He looks poised to take on the role of gunner off the bench, but let's see him do it again before we pronounce him this year's Jamal Crawford. That said, don't hesitate to make a move if signs start pointing his way. This isn't Nellie's roller coaster ride anymore, and roles will be more clear.
Mon Sep 13 201014:15Reggie Williams to play some PG for GSW
Reggie Williams will likely help back up point guard Stephen Curry for the Warriors.
And given the fact that rookie Jeremy Lin is the other back up, and the team doesn't plan on signing Jannero Pargo, it's possible Williams could see heavy minutes for the Warriors this year, playing both guard spots as well as small forward. Go ahead and put him on your sleeper list.

Thu Jul 15 201019:07Reggie Williams leaves with strained hammy
Warriors swingman Reggie Williams left Thursday's summer league game with a strained right hamstring.
Williams had been averaging 23.8 points through four SL games, second only to Cleveland's J.J. Hickson. We should soon know the severity of the injury and hopefully it's nothing that will linger into training camp.

Tue Jun 22 201009:14Warriors want a SF?
Warriors GM Larry Riley said that one of his top priorities is to add a small forward with size that can create shots for himself and others.
The Warriors are widely expected to take a big man -- Greg Monroe, DeMarcus Cousins -- at No. 6 overall, so Riley may have something up his sleeve. The Warriors do have a second-round pick, but they traded back to No. 44. Either way, it's a sign that the Warriors see last year's D-League breakout star Reggie Williams as a bench player.
