Wed Nov 27 201300:18Jermaine O'Neal turns back clock, scores 18
Jermaine O'Neal was outstanding in his start at center with Andrew Bogut suspended on Tuesday, shooting 9-of-12 from the field for 18 points with eight boards in 26 minutes during a 102-101 win over the Pelicans.
He was a little emotional and playing well meant a lot to him at less than 100 percent. "I got the groin, I got the knee, I got the wrist, I got a viral infection," O'Neal said in a post-game interview with the Warriors broadcast team. This will probably be the most minutes he'll play for a while, so we wouldn't suggest adding him in most formats.

Tue Nov 26 201319:40Jermaine O'Neal (knee) in the starting lineup
Jermaine O'Neal (knee) is listed in the starting lineup to face the Pelicans on Tuesday.
The Warriors really need him with Andrew Bogut serving his one-game suspension tonight. O'Neal missed four games with knee and groin issues and his one of the more fragile players in the NBA, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him not reach his 17.3 minutes per game. Dewayne Dedmon is up from the D-League and will help.

Tue Nov 26 201313:35Jermaine O'Neal makes it through shootaround
Jermaine O'Neal made it through shootaround despite groin and knee injuries, but remains a game-time decision for Tuesday's game against Anthony Davis and the Pelicans.
This is important because O'Neal may start for suspended Andrew Bogut, while Davis looks like as strong a play as there is in the NBA tonight with this match up. And if JO can't go, things get even worse in the middle for the Warriors, as Dewayne Dedmon could be forced into action.

Tue Nov 26 201310:54Jermaine O'Neal could start for Warriors
Jermaine O'Neal, who has been out with groin and knee injuries, could start at center for the Warriors on Tuesday due to Andrew Bogut's suspension.
While the Warriors get credit for being deep, once you get past Bogut things get pretty raw in the middle. Along with the old man, young buck Dewayne Dedmon could also see heavy action tonight. Look for Anthony Davis to bounce back in a big way after being stifled by Tim Duncan on Monday night, as he shouldn't have any problem outrunning O'Neal, and flat-out dominating against the likes of David Lee and Dedmon.

Thu Nov 21 201306:35Jermaine O'Neal could play on Tuesday
Jermaine O'Neal (groin, knee) plans to test his injuries over the next two days and could return as soon as Tuesday vs. the Pelicans.
Considering the frequency of O'Neal's injuries, it would be a mild surprise to see him back in the lineup so soon. Although, the Warriors lost Ognjen Kuzmic on Wednesday, so they need some depth up front badly. JO can remain on the wire in most leagues until he's back on the court.

Wed Nov 20 201321:06Jermaine O'Neal on a stationary bike
Jermaine O'Neal (knee, groin) has been on a stationary bike and will be doing some light running Thursday.
It's great to hear that JO is at least active in practice after his scary injury on Monday. O'Neal is still going to miss some time and is not worth owning in almost any league.

Mon Nov 18 201313:52Jermaine O'Neal has knee bruise, groin strain
An MRI revealed that Jermaine O'Neal has a bruised right knee and a minor right groin strain, and he's listed as day-to-day.
He didn't travel with the Warriors for Monday's game, but this is essentially a best-case scenario after he hurt himself doing an unintentional split on Saturday. His 17 minutes per game will be temporarily absorbed by Andrew Bogut, Marreese Speights and possibly Ognjen Kuzmic.

Sun Nov 17 201301:01Jermaine O'Neal to be re-evaluated Sunday
Jermaine O'Neal suffered a right knee sprain and a right groin strain in the second half of Saturday's game against the Jazz.
Ouch. The injury did not look good at all and the Warriors are likely to be without their backup center for at least a couple games. He's had a few groin injuries in his career as well as countless knee problems. Marreese Speights could be looking at plenty of extra minutes for the foreseeable future.

Sun Nov 17 201300:27Jermaine O'Neal suffers injury on Saturday
Jermaine O'Neal suffered a leg injury in the second half of Saturday's game.
He did a bit of a split and went to ground in a lot of pain. O'Neal had to be helped off the court by his teammates and could barely walk on his way to the locker room. He's had a very tough time staying healthy, so there's a good chance he may have to miss time. Hopefully, this is nothing serious. Marreese Speights would pick up some extra playing time should JO miss time.

Wed Nov 13 201303:08Jermaine O'Neal goes for 17 & 6 in win
Jermaine O'Neal played 23 minutes and hit 7-of-8 shots for a season-high 17 points and six rebounds in Tuesday's cakewalk over the Pistons.
O'Neal hadn't scored more than seven points in a game this season, so tonight looks like a garbage-time fluke more than it does a breakout game. Andrew Bogut looks healthy and is playing very well for the Warriors, but if Bogut goes down at some point with an injury, O'Neal might be worth a pick up. Having said that, he has plenty of his own injury concerns, and would be an unreliable option, even if he were forced into the starting lineup at some point.

Thu Nov 7 201301:16Jermaine O'Neal plays 25 minutes
Jermaine O'Neal played 25 minutes in Wednesday's 106-93 win over the Wolves and had five points, six boards, one assist, one steal and three blocks.
Any minute total over 20 is risky business for JO, but the Warriors took a chance with Andrew Bogut in foul trouble. O'Neal won't be seeing this much playing time on about 90 percent of nights this season.

Mon Nov 4 201312:46Jermaine O'Neal (foot) cleared to play Monday
Mark Jackson confirmed that Jermaine O'Neal (bruised foot) will play vs. the Sixers on Monday.
J.O.'s injury isn't serious but he's averaging just 5.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks as Golden State's backup center. For deep league owners considering O'Neal, at least the Warriors' four-game week provides a bit of insurance against another DNP.

Sun Nov 3 201313:52Jermaine O'Neal (foot) likely to play on trip
Jermaine O'Neal (foot) expects to be active for the Warriors' upcoming four-game road trip.
We'll continue to list him as questionable for Monday's game in Philadelphia, but his bruised foot shouldn't keep him out much longer. The veteran averaged 18 minutes per game before getting hurt, and should fill a similar role all year as Andrew Bogut's primary backup.

Sat Nov 2 201323:42Jermaine O'Neal not playing on Saturday
Jermaine O'Neal is not playing on Saturday due to a right foot contusion.
The injury wasn't announced until game time, but this hardly comes as a surprise. O'Neal can't stay healthy these days and even 20 minutes per game would likely be too much for him.

Fri Oct 25 201301:30JO puts up identical numbers Wed. and Thurs.
Jermaine O'Neal shot 3-of-9 from the field for six points in 19 minutes against the Blazers on Thursday.
He had those same exact numbers on Wednesday in his return from back spasms, but he added two steals tonight. O'Neal's minutes will be monitored due to his chronic back issues, so he likely won't have much value outside of a plug-and-play option in deep daily leagues on light NBA nights.

Sat Oct 12 201309:30Jermaine O'Neal (back spasms) soon to return
Jermaine O'Neal (back spasms) is expected to return for Tuesday's game in Beijing.
The Warriors play the Lakers twice in China and J.O. should be in uniform for both of the games. Although this recent spate of back spasms was minor, it's a good reminder of O'Neal's perennially fragile health.

Thu Oct 10 201316:04Jermaine O'Neal out with lower back issue
Jermaine O'Neal remained out of practice on Thursday with his lower back pain.
The Warriors next preseason game isn't until Tuesday, so perhaps JO can make it back by then. O'Neal is one of the most injury-prone players in the league and the Warriors should keep his minutes in the teens this season.

Tue Oct 8 201320:29Jermaine O'Neal doesn't make trip to Utah
Jermaine O'Neal didn't make the trip to Utah and will not play in Tuesday's game.
He has lower back pain and will stay behind. Back issues are nothing new for JO and he's hurt way too often to be a factor in fantasy leagues. If the Warriors want him to have a shot at 60 games played, they're not going to let him play more than 18 minutes per game.

Sun Oct 6 201313:51Bogut, O'Neal may be paired for stretches
Mark Jackson said that he will pair Andrew Bogut and Jermaine O'Neal at times this season.
"Both of those guys are big-time defenders," Jackson said. "Jermaine gives us a post presence. They're great guys to set screens and create openings." Though interesting, and a move away from the small-ball lineups of past years, the Bogut/O'Neal frontcourt won't be common often enough to have a substantial fantasy impact.
