Tue Jul 9 201314:48Jermaine O'Neal gets one-year deal with GSW
Jermaine O'Neal agreed to a one-year, $2 million contract with the Warriors.
The Warriors don't exactly have the most durable centers in the league with Andrew Bogut and O'Neal on their roster, so Festus Ezeli and Marreese Speights could be important pieces. Even with JO's lack of durability, it's a solid signing for Golden State. O'Neal probably will be expected to play around 18 minutes per game and won't be worth drafting in fantasy leagues.

Sat Jul 6 201318:47Jermaine O'Neal drawing interest from teams
Jermaine O'Neal is drawing interest from the Warriors and Mavericks.
The Rockets are also in the mix for J.O. He played in 55 games last season with the Suns, which is more than he played in the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons combined. He played 18.7 minutes per game last year and that's about the expectation he'll have with his new team.

Mon Apr 29 201309:52Jermaine O'Neal will talk to Blazers in FA
Jermaine O'Neal said that he plans to talk to the Blazers about signing with the team as a free agent.
"I'm very open to Portland. They're definitely a team I'm looking forward to having talks with this summer," he said. O'Neal would fit a need for a backup center ahead of Meyers Leonard, but the Blazers desperately need a legitimate starting center with LaMarcus Aldridge wanting to remain at power forward. Ideally, the team would get a rim protector to complement LMA.

Thu Apr 18 201313:34Jermaine O'Neal intends to play next season
Jermaine O'Neal intends to return for an 18th season next year.
"I feel like I can still play and take a team over the hump, and that's on either end of the court," he said. O'Neal's kids want him to continue playing, so the veteran will give it at least one more try after he had a somewhat surprisingly productive season in Phoenix. The training staff in Phoenix did wonders for O'Neal, but it's unlikely he'll hold up all season next year no matter where he lands.

Wed Apr 17 201319:24Jermaine O'Neal out again on Wednesday
Jermaine O'Neal (shin) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.
He was always a risky asset for the Suns and the loss of Marcin Gortat certainly put him in harm's way with the extra minutes. Luis Scola and Markieff Morris both exploded on Monday, so they should be viewed as must-start players tonight against the up-tempo Nuggets.

Mon Apr 15 201314:42Jermaine O'Neal (shin) ruled out Monday
Jermaine O'Neal's bruised shin will keep him out again on Monday against the Rockets.
No surprise here, while it looks like Luis Scola and the Morris boys will hold it down in the middle for the Suns tonight. It would also be surprising if O'Neal plays in Wednesday's finale at this point, but he hasn't been ruled out as of yet.

Sat Apr 13 201323:10Jermaine O'Neal out again w/ bruised shin
Jermaine O'Neal (bruised shin) was a late scratch on Saturday.
There was no warning of his absence, which led to Luis Scola playing 35 minutes and Hamed Haddadi logging 10 minutes off the bench. J.O. is a walking game-time decision so this doesn't really change his status for the Suns' final two contests on Monday and Wednesday.

Sat Apr 13 201309:22Report: O'Neal leaning toward another season
Jermaine O'Neal is leaning toward playing next season, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
Next season would be O'Neal's 19th in the league, which is crazy to think about. O'Neal traveled to Germany last summer for the knee procedure that Kobe Bryant and Alex Rodriguez made famous. He noted in February that he plans to go back to Germany this summer for the same procedure on both knees. He's no longer the player he once was, but O'Neal can still be a depth option for big-needy teams.

Wed Apr 10 201323:41Jermaine O'Neal blocks seven shots in win
Jermaine O'Neal, who felt terrible after costing the Suns a win on Tuesday with basket interference at the buzzer, had four points, six rebounds and seven blocks in 24 minutes of Wednesday's unlikely win over the Mavs.
O'Neal's defense helped the Suns snap a 10-game winning streak and likely knocked the Mavs out of the playoffs, but he also hit just 2-of-10 shots on the night. If you're desperate for blocks, he might be worth an add for the Suns' final three games of the season.

Wed Apr 10 201300:27Jermaine O'Neal plays 26 minutes vs. HOU
Jermaine O'Neal played 26 minutes against the Rockets on Tuesday, scoring six points with six boards and one block.
He was called for basket interference at the buzzer to cost the Suns the victory. JO is dealing with shin splints and he's going to be tough to count on for 30 minutes. He can blocks shots, so he's worth owning for big-needy owners.

Tue Apr 9 201314:33Jermaine O'Neal will play on Tuesday
Jermaine O'Neal (shin) will play in Tuesday's game against the Rockets.
O'Neal ends up missing just one game with his shin bruise. In the three contests before going down, he averaged 15.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks as the first big off the bench.

Mon Apr 8 201315:42Jermaine O'Neal (shin) expects to play Tues.
Jermaine O'Neal (shin) practiced on Monday and expects to play on Tuesday.
His return is a welcome relief for the Suns, who have dropped nine straight games while deploying an undersized frontcourt with Luis Scola at C and Markieff Morris at PF.

Sun Apr 7 201321:51Jermaine O'Neal out Sunday w/ bruised shin
Jermaine O'Neal (bruised shin) will not play on Sunday.
Stop the presses. This is O'Neal's 24th DNP of the season, and without Marcin Gortat the Suns will again rely on undersized Luis Scola and Markieff Morris, backed up by Hamed Haddadi and Marcus Morris.

Thu Apr 4 201301:36Jermaine O'Neal scores 18 points vs. Clips
The Suns got a nice lift from Jermaine O'Neal, who scored 18 points and grabbed eight boards in Wednesday's loss to the Clippers.
J.O. made 7-of-10 FGs, part of an efficient bench scoring effort, but the Suns' defense had more holes than a mosquito net and they wound up losing 126-101. Starting 'center' Luis Scola had 10 points and 11 boards, and Lindsey Hunter shows no inclination to change his lineup.

Sun Mar 31 201300:43Jermaine O'Neal (calf) has 13 pts in return
Jermaine O'Neal (sore calf) returned with 13 points, five boards, one steal and one block on Saturday, but the Suns lost their fifth straight game.
J.O. may well return to the Suns' starting lineup this week, possibly displacing Luis Scola (eight points in 16 minutes). He has sat out 50 percent of the Suns' games in March, of course, so use him with a light touch.

Thu Mar 28 201301:33Jermaine O'Neal plays 16 minutes in loss
Jermaine O'Neal played through his sore calf on Wednesday and hit 1-of-7 shots for three points, four rebounds and a block in 16 minutes.
O'Neal didn't sound optimistic about playing prior to the game, but was able to give it a go. The Suns have nothing to play for, so don't be surprised if O'Neal is shut down at some point once his legs fully give out.

Wed Mar 27 201310:40Jermaine O'Neal pessimistic about Wednesday
Jermaine O'Neal (calf) was pessimistic about his chances of playing on Wednesday after practicing on Tuesday.
"If I still feel the same (tonight), then I won't play," he said. O'Neal put his health at about 80 percent, but given how fragile he is, he's got to be 100 percent to give his team anything. The calf bothered him prior to Friday's game, so the team should let him get back to full health before he plays again. Assuming he sits out, Luis Scola is in line to draw another start with Hamed Haddadi playing more minutes off the pine.

Tue Mar 26 201315:12Jermaine O'Neal returns to practice Tuesday
Jermaine O'Neal (calf) returned to practice on Tuesday.
This is positive considering O'Neal was hopeful on Monday he'd practice on Tuesday, and as long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks, O'Neal should be good to go for Wednesday's game against the Jazz. If he is forced to sit out a third straight game, Luis Scola would draw another start at center with Hamed Haddadi picking up time off the bench as well.

Mon Mar 25 201302:40Jermaine O'Neal (calf) targeting Wednesday
Jermaine O'Neal (calf) hopes to practice on Tuesday and return for Wednesday's road game vs. the Jazz.
J.O. recently had the flu, but it's a strained left calf that caused him to miss the Suns' past two games. Luis Scola has been wanting as the team's makeshift center, and O'Neal should get as many minutes as his body can handle.

Sun Mar 24 201320:10Jermaine O'Neal (calf) out again on Sunday
Jermaine O'Neal (flu, strained calf) will not play on Sunday.
Phoenix will have Jared Dudley (flu) in the lineup, however, and O'Neal has improved enough that he was a game-time decision tonight. With J.O. out vs. the Nets, Luis Scola, Hamed Haddadi and the Morris brothers will do their best to slow down Brook Lopez.
