Quincy Pondexter started at shooting guard Wednesday and socred a career-high 17 points to go along with six rebounds, two assists and a 3-pointer.
Tony Allen was out with hip and knee injuries, but is day-to-day. Once he's back, Allen is the starter and Pondexter's big night is more fluke than anything else. But he probably earned some extra minutes with the solid performance.

Thu Dec 22 201101:00Pondexter injured during double-double
Quincy Pondexter started for the Hornets on Wednesday, going off for 14 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and a block, but hurt his knee in the process.
They're running tests on the knee and it's possible the injury could be serious. Trevor Ariza sat this one out in order to rest, meaning Pondexter is not going to have a huge role in New Orleans, but at this point, we're just hoping his knee injury isn't serious.

Quincy Pondexter started for injured Trevor Ariza (groin) on Friday, scoring four points on 2-of-5 shooting with four rebounds and no other statistics in 29 minutes.
He is the NBA version of the empty fantasy calorie right now, and he should be ignored until he takes a more active statistical role in the events taking place on the court, assuming he's on the court.

He failed to impress when given the chance this past month, but he's young and has time to refine his game. This year, however, he is a longshot to offer any fantasy value.

Quincy Pondexter was replaced in the starting lineup by Sasha Pavlovic on Wednesday, but is also dealing with ankle soreness.

Quincy Pondexter started again for injured Trevor Ariza (ankle) on Monday, but managed just four points on 1-of-5 shooting with one rebound, one assist, and one steal in 20 minutes.

Sun Feb 6 201101:10Pondexter shut out against the Lakers
Quincy Pondexter lasted just 14 minutes against the Lakers on Saturday, and did not post any statistics other than three missed shots.
Ron Artest got angry at him and Monty Williams yanked him from the game, and maybe Williams thought the opponent was too much for the rookie. Either way, this debut all but eliminates any fantasy consideration he may get, though the rookie does have some tools that may develop down the road.
Sat Feb 5 201120:14Pondexter starts at small forward for Ariza
Quincy Pondexter started for injured Trevor Ariza (ankle) at small forward on Saturday against the Lakers.
He has a bit of a sleeper quality to him, but with Ariza returning in two weeks he will only have value for the short-term. If he gets hot tonight, give him a look if you don't have to drop anybody of real value.
Thu Feb 3 201110:07Pondexter to start with Ariza out?
Beat writer John Reid guesses that Quincy Pondexter will get the start at small forward while Trevor Ariza (ankle) is out.
Ariza missed one game earlier this season and Pondexter got the nod. In that game, the rookie out of Washington put up seven points, three rebounds and two assists in 27.5 minutes. Willie Green played 24.5 minutes and Marcus Thornton played 21.5 minutes. Only deep leaguers should be making a move here.

Thu Feb 3 201100:49Pondexter could fill in for injured Ariza
Quincy Pondexter filled in for Trevor Ariza, who left with an ugly ankle sprain, and finished with 10 points, four rebounds, two steals and a 3-pointer in 33 minutes.
Ariza could miss several games and Pondexter looks like the guy who would start in his place. If you're in a deep league, give him a look, but Cleveland's Christian Eyenga might be a better roll of the dice.
Fri Jan 21 201123:08Pondexter scores seven in start for Hornets
Quincy Pondexter started in place of injured Trevor Ariza on Friday and had seven points and three rebounds.
Ariza isn't likely to be out for long, but even if he is, it's hard to imagine Pondexter being worth owning in many leagues.
