Exum was benched in the second half by head coach Quin Snyder in favor of Trey Burke, who took advantage and cashed in with 23 points and six assists in 36 minutes. Exum has been a disapointment offensively, failing to score in double digits in February. He's in danger of losing his starting gig and should be avoided in most formats.

Exum averaged 30.3 minutes on the court over his last four games but has only compiled averages of 5.3 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists during that span.

Exum seems to be coach Quin Snyder's starting point guard moving forward, although the rookie is clearly struggling to produce during his significant time on the court. His future is bright, but the Australian's rookie campaign has been a lackluster affair. When analyzing his season-highs, 15 points, five rebounds, five assists, three steals, and one block, it should be apparent that Exum provides limited value even on his best nights.

Exum was held scoreless in 20 minutes as the starting point guard Tuesday against the Trail Blazers. He contributed three rebounds, one assist, and two steals in the contest.

The 19-year-old rookie continues to have growing pains as Utah's starting point guard. Exum has been getting less minutes than Trey Burke an has been held scoreless in two of his last five games. Although it appears he'll continue to see over 20 minutes of playing time, it'd be best to wait until Exum strings a couple good games together before considering him for your lineup.

Exum will make his second straight start against the Nets on Saturday, Jazz announcer David Locke reports.

Exum's move into the starting lineup means that Trey Burke will continue coming off the bench as coach Quin Snyder is less concerned about individual players and more concerned about effective lineups as a whole. Whatever the reason, Exum's value is trending upward while Burke's value is taking a dive at this point in the season, especially after Exum put up 15 points (5-12 FG, 5-10 3Pt) during his start against Milwaukee on Thursday. However, Snyder said that he will continue to tinker with his starting lineups for the rest of the season.

Exum had 15 points, all coming from three-point range (5-12 FG, 5-10 3Pt), to go along with five assists and three turnovers in 35 minutes Thursday.

The rookie got the start over Trey Burke and had a career-high 15 points. Burke played 24 minutes off the bench and scored 10 points on 4-of-11 shooting. It remains to be seen whether Burke will remain on the bench for the next game, so check back before Saturday's game to see who get the nod at point guard against the Nets.

Exum will start at point guard Thursday in Milwaukee, the Jazz's official site reports.

Because the Jazz are currently without Derrick Favors (personal), Alec Burks (shoulder), and Rodney Hood (foot), coach Quin Snyder believed that an offensively-challenged bench unit required a jolt. However, his per-36 production -- 8.9 points, 3.9 assists, 2.6 rebounds, 1.5 three-pointers, and 0.9 steals per contest -- is more indicative of his potential output.

Exum came off the bench for 29 minutes against the Cavaliers on Wednesday but only managed to contribute four points and five assists during his time on the hardwood.

Exum enjoyed extra time on the court Wednesday since coach Quin Snyder only allowed normal starter Trey Burke to play for 19 minutes in a disappointing outing. This change isn't likely a long-term fixture and Exum hardly took advantage of the added playing time anyway. Look for Exum to slot back down to his normal 18.9 minutes per game over the haul of the season.

Exum returned to the bench Wednesday and finished with two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and three assists in 24 minutes.

Exum still managed 24 minutes which is an encouraging leap from his 18 minute per game average however he is likely to see an uptick anytime the Jazz are on either end of a blow out.

Exum had 13 points (5-14 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 0-0 FT) in 30 minutes in his first career start Monday against the Pacers. However, he did not record a rebound or an assist in the contest.

Just one day after coach Quin Snyder somewhat challenged Exum, the rookie guard got his first NBA start. Exum played a season-high 30 minutes Monday, but his lack of assists and rebounds was disappointing. He got the start for Trey Burke, who was out with strep throat, so it's unclear whether Exum did enough Monday to get more starts once Burke returns.

Burke is dealing with strep throat, which allows the Australian product to earn his first career start. Exum's per-36 numbers so far include 9.7 points (on 39 percent shooting), 3.8 assists, 2.9 rebounds, 1.7 three-pointers, and one steal per game.

Exum will step in as the starting point guard Monday if Trey Burke (illness) is unable to play, Jody Genessy of the Deseret News reports.

Burke came down with an illness Sunday and did not participate in Monday's shootaround. He's considered a game-time decision, and coach Quin Snyder said Exum would make his first NBA start if Burke is unable to go. In 34 games off the bench this season, Exum is averaging 5.0 points and 1.9 assists while shooting 39.1 percent from the floor. He shot 38.2 percent from beyond the arc in the month of December, knocking down just under one three-pointer per game.

Exum has made an appearance in all 29 games for Utah this season, although he's only spending 18 minutes on the court per game.

Exum entered the 2014 NBA Draft as a mysterious prospect when considering that scouts based his talent mostly off of international competition when playing for his home country of Australia rather than the traditional route via the United States' collegiate system. It seems pretty clear in the early goings of the season that the Jazz are content with slowly acclimating the rookie to the NBA rather than overloading him with minutes that he isn't ready for. As evidence of this, the 19-year-old's highest total of minutes this season was just 27, and he rarely sees over 20 minutes during any given game. There's a possibility that coach Quin Snyder could slowly give Exum more minutes deeper into the season, although that won't likely manifest until the final third portion of the season, if it happens at all.

Exum scored a career-high 12 points (5-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT) to go with two rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block in 21 minutes off the bench Tuesday.

Exum is averaging 4.4 points, 1.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.8 three-pointers in 17 minutes per game this season. He is the definitive backup point guard on the Jazz, but he doesn't see much run at shooting guard, leaving Exum only spot minutes after Trey Burke gets his minutes as the starting point guard each game. While Exum has intriguing value in dynasty leagues, as long as Burke is healthy, Exum will struggle to be of use in anything but the deepest of leagues.

Exum came off the bench for 14 minutes against the Raptors on Wednesday and managed to put up two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 0-1 FT), two rebounds, one assist, and one block.

Exum has been used sparingly off the bench this season, averaging just 17.8 minutes on the court over the first 19 games of his rookie campaign. All hope is certainly not lost for his long-term potential, although at just 19-years-old, he should only be considered in deep formats at this point in the 2014-15 season.

Exum scored nine points (3-5 FG, 3-5 3Pt), with five assists and one rebound in 15 minutes during Tuesday's win over the Thunder.

Exum is still being brought along slowly, and he's going through ups and downs, but he's showing flashes of his potential. Tonight, he was obviously feeling it from three-point land, and had no issue dishing out assists as well. Currently, he should only be owned in deeper leagues, but can be considered a "stash" player for the time being in most leagues.

Exum is off to a slow start to his rookie campaign, although the Jazz have openly acknowledged that he's a work in progress. At just 19-years-old, Exum hasn't spent more than 27 minutes on the court this season and should only be owned in deeper leagues as a result.

Alec Burks and Trey Burke played most of the minutes in the backcourt for the Jazz, with Rodney Hood also getting 17 minutes off the bench. Besides his sub-par shooting performance, Exum did not have a single rebound, assist, steal or block. This was also on a night when Burke and Burks both went over 15 points. Exum will likely continue to come off the bench as long as those two are producing.

Exum only came off the bench for 10 minutes but was able to come up with five points (2-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt), one assist, and one steal against the Rockets on Tuesday.

Exum had an underwhelming start to his NBA career as he was used in limited fashion Tuesday. The Australian import has received a lot of attention since the NBA draft this summer, although fellow teammate and rookie Rodney Hood was given more than double the amount of minutes (21) that Exum was. It may be a bit early to jump to conclusions but Exum won't have much of an impact if he continues to be brought along this slowly.

Exum and the Utah coaching staff will work to improve the rookie's shooting technique throughout the course of the season, the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Exum is openly viewed as a project in the eyes of the Jazz organization and improving the effectiveness of his jumper is part of this process over the next couple of years. This is evidenced by his 36 percent shooting from the field over five preseason games. With this in mind, fellow point guard Trey Burke seems to be heading into the regular season as the better option in Utah. Although, Exum will be striving to take over the starting role as he continues to improve his game.

Exum has struggled through five preseason games while shooting just 40.7 percent from the field to go along with 2.8 turnovers committed during an average of 20.0 minutes per contest.

Exum certainly won't be able to correct all of his rookie hiccups before the Jazz start their regular season against the Rockets on Wednesday, rather, he'll be coming off the bench and learning the ropes at an appropriate pace. He will start the season in a time share at point guard with Trey Burke, although Burke seems like the better fantasy option at this point in the preseason. The import from Australia will likely progress his abilities over the stretch of his rookie campaign even though things have gotten off to a slow start as coach Quin Snyder seems to think that Exum's lack of strength is affecting his propensity to turn the ball over. This may ultimately cause Exum's value to be curbed until Snyder has faith in putting the 19-year-old at the helm of Utah's offense.
