Coach Quin Snyder said a lot of Exum's eight turnovers in Monday's preseason game can be attributed to a lack of strength, the Salt Lake Tribune's Tony Jones reports.
Exum finished that game with nine points on 3-for-5 shooting from behind the arc, along with four assists and one rebound in 22 minutes off the bench. However, Snyder citing a lack of strength as the cause for the turnovers doesn't necessarily suggest that the coach thinks it's something that can be curtailed through coaching and repetition. Meanwhile fellow rookie Rodney Hood appears to be impressing the coaching staff on both ends of the court, and once Alec Burks is returns to action in the near future, Exum may start seeing even fewer minutes in the preseason.

Exum (ankle) scored four points (1-5 FG, 2-2 FT) to go with three rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 29 minutes in Tuesday's win over Portland.
Exum had a minor ankle sprain this summer while playing for the Australian national team. While he was able to play through it during the FIBA World Cup, his performance during the tournament made scouts question whether he is NBA ready. Exum showed great pick-and-roll abilities but was also seen as careless with the ball. Coach Quinn Snyder provided him with plenty of minutes Tuesday, and Exum showed he can do a little bit of everything. He will likely have many more minutes this preseason, and at this point it isn't likely for him steal the starting job unless an injury were to occur to Trey Burke.

Exum (ankle) is projected to come off the bench behind fellow point guard Trey Burke this upcoming season, the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Exum is still expected to see significant time on the court this year, but he'll have to prove to new coach Quin Snyder that his highly touted athletic ability deserves more minutes than Burke. It'll likely be a season-long learning process for Exum who could see his value rise as his rookie campaign progresses. As for now, Burke seems like a safer pick when considering that Exum has a lot of unknowns coming from Australia with little high-level competion on his resume.

Exum tweaked his ankle while playing for the Australian National Team, but he's been able to continue playing, indicating that the injury is not serious.
Exum was drafted by the Jazz with the fifth overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft in June. He played well at the NBA's Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 7.2 points, 2.6 rebounds. 2.8 assists, and 1.4 steals in 27 minutes per game for the Jazz. Exum is expected to backup Trey Burke at point guard and Alec Burks at shooting guard in his rookie season.
Mon Jul 28 201409:47Dante Exum all set for FIBA World Cup
Dante Exum made the Australian basketball team and will play at the FIBA World Cup in Spain.
He needs to adjust to playing against guys who are bigger than him and just needs as many reps as possible. Exum was overmatched in Las Vegas and couldn't get many easy shots. He was also a bit lethargic without the ball, which is something he'll have to improve if he wants to play more shooting guard minutes.

Wed Jul 23 201409:46Dante Exum adjusting to NBA's physicality
Dante Exum finished Summer League with 14 assists vs. 15 turnovers, and admitted that he's adjusting to a new level of physicality and competition.
"The last games I played was high school games and I'm one of the bigger guys out there that can push guys around," he said. "Here, I get into the paint and I'm getting knocked over." Exum considers himself a PG but the Jazz already have Trey Burke, and Exum's learning curve may be eased by deploying him at SG more often than not. Either way, it will be interesting to see how coach Quin Snyder manages his backcourt rotation.

Tue Jul 15 201401:22Dante Exum's favorite play is pick-and-roll
Dante Exum said after Monday's game that pick-and-roll is his favorite play.
He also said he didn't think he played well in the win. The Jazz ran a ton of pick-and-roll with Exum and Rudy Gobert, which was a thing of beauty tonight. He finished with six points, two rebounds, three assists, one 3-pointer and three turnovers. He continues to show massive potential.

Sun Jul 13 201400:34Dante Exum shows off athleticism in debut
Dante Exum made his pro debut against the 76ers on Saturday, scoring 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting with three rebounds, three assists, one steal, one turnover, no fouls and one 3-pointer.
He put on a show all night with flashy crossover dribbles, effective pick-and-rolls and leading several fast-breaks. Exum was a bit stagnant on offense without the ball and sat in the corner a little too often. It was easy to see why the Jazz grabbed him at five, but he is going to need some to develop any sort of consistency.

Wed Jul 9 201409:32Dante Exum shares PG role w/ Trey Burke
Jazz coach Quin Synder has been impressed by rookie Dante Exum's speed, passing and ability to direct pick-and-rolls.
Exum and Trey Burke have been sharing point guard duties during recent practices, which seems to be Utah's vision for the upcoming season. "He's a good player and I think we can definitely play together," Burke said. "It puts pressure on a defense when you have two guys who can be primary ball-handlers. It was good to sometimes bring the ball up, or sometimes go to the corner and spot up and let someone else do the work." Fantasy owners should keep a close eye on Utah's backcourt throughout Summer League and the preseason.

Sat Jun 28 201410:30Dante Exum to play in Las Vegas Summer League
Dante Exum will play in Las Vegas Summer League in July.
"When I step on the court at summer league, I'm just going to play hard and show them the Australian type of basketball that we like to play," Exum said. "I've prepared for this moment. I'm going to keep working hard and come to the gym every day." He's saying all the right things and it wouldn't be a surprise to see the 18-year-old start his career off with a bang in his rookie season.

Fri Jun 27 201419:03Dante Exum hoping to get even faster
Dante Exum said on Friday that he is "looking to get faster" this offseason.
He's 6'6" and is already a candidate to threaten John Wall, Russell Westbrook and Ty Lawson as the fastest players in the open floor. There isn't a lot of information on the 18-year-old Aussie, but his ceiling is off the charts. If he has a big summer league, it's possible Exum unseats Trey Burke, who struggled mightily in his rookie season.
