Mon Feb 20 201218:18Baron Davis expected to debut
Baron Davis is expected to make his Knicks debut Monday.
With Iman Shumpert (knee) out, Davis is going to serve as the backup point guard. Coach Mike D'Antoni had previously said that Baron would only play in garbage time this week. We wouldn't expect more than a fistful of minutes.

Mon Feb 20 201216:47Baron Davis to play in garbage time
Coach Mike D'Antoni said Baron Davis will only see minutes in garbage time over the next three games.
Davis is active and ready to play, but there's no room to ease him in right now. The veteran may need a Jeremy Lin injury to accrue significant minutes at any point this season.

Sun Feb 19 201216:02B-Diddy active on Sunday, but doesn't play
Baron Davis was active for the first time this season but did not play on Sunday against the Mavericks.
Davis was hoping to make his season debut against the defending champions, but it wasn't meant to be. Sunday's contest was close throughout, which probably played a role in coach Mike D'Antoni's decision to hold him out. There is a good chance we will see Davis on Monday against the Nets, although nothing is official yet. Fantasy owners should avoid Davis at this point.

Sun Feb 19 201210:27Baron Davis expects to make debut on Sunday
Baron Davis expects to make his season debut on Sunday vs. the Mavericks.
"It will be a good chance for me to get some minutes," he said. "I want to get out there and see where I am, what I need to work on, what's bothering me and the things I need to correct." Fantasy owners should leave him on the waiver wire unless he gives us a compelling reason to change our stance.

Sat Feb 18 201213:05Baron Davis might finally be ready on Monday
Baron Davis (back) played 3-on-3 again on Saturday and could play as soon as Monday vs. the Nets.
Although it sounds like Baron will actually return this time, he's not a tempting pickup with Jeremy Lin in command at PG and J.R. Smith entering the rotation. Also, the odds of his getting re-injured are really high.

Fri Feb 17 201218:53Baron Davis nearing return for Knicks
Baron Davis reportedly played 3-on-3 on Friday and is nearing a return for the Knicks after sitting out all season with several different ailments, including a balky back and infected elbow.
Davis might get some backup point guard minutes if he proves he's healthy enough to play, but with Carmelo Anthony, J.R. Smith and Davis all ready to come back in the midst of the Knicks on an incredible hot streak, only Melo is guaranteed heavy minutes. And for the record, this is Jeremy Lin's team now, meaning Davis is now an afterthought. Leave him on waivers for now.

Mon Feb 13 201212:31Baron Davis not practicing Monday
Baron Davis (back) did not practice Monday.
The daily Davis questions have stopped now that Jeremy Lin has taken over. Even if Davis was surprisingly able to get to 100 percent and sustain health, he's an extreme longshot to take over for Lin.

Sat Feb 11 201215:57Baron Davis returns to workouts for Knicks
Baron Davis resumed working out this week, but he hasn't been cleared for contact and there is no timetable for his return.
The emergence of Jeremy Lin has made Baron an afterthought, and Alan Hahn writes that "it's as if [Davis] is starting all over again [in his rehab]." Given his poor health and conditioning, he's not worth clogging up a bench spot in average leagues.

Sat Feb 11 201210:59Baron undergoes blood-spinning treatment
Baron Davis recently underwent blood-spinning therapy, according to DeShawn Stevenson.
Stevenson, Baron and Gilbert Arenas all went to the same doctor, and presumably Baron had the therapy performed on his knees. Baron just got over an infected elbow but his conditioning is poor and his back is a constant threat -- with the rise of Jeremy Lin, Baron is an even less appealing stash.

Tue Feb 7 201210:23Baron Davis says elbow issue now behind him
Baron Davis said that his infected elbow "has been taken care of," but doesn't expect to practice this week.
It's been the same swan song for Davis all season. After multiple reports that he was close to a debut, it sounds like B-Diddy was never all that close to seeing game action. Davis says that the rest has helped, but the Knicks aren't expecting him back before the All-Star break. With Linsanity taking over New York, the Knicks won't rush Davis back until he's 100 percent healthy.

Mon Feb 6 201218:30Baron Davis' setback was elbow infection
Baron Davis said his latest setback was triggered by an elbow infection.
According to Davis, the elbow infection caused pain in his troublesome back. We're not really sure how the two are related, but the bottom line is that the Knicks are not expecting Davis to debut anytime before the All-Star break. Jeremy Lin is their starting point guard for now.

Mon Feb 6 201212:11Baron Davis has setback, now out indefinitely
Baron Davis (back) has had another setback with his recovery and is out indefinitely.
The Knicks are not expecting Davis anytime before the Feb. 23 All-Star break. He's not practicing, leading to concerns that his conditioning will further deteriorate. Even if Davis does make it back onto the floor this season, he remains a poor bet to sustain health at age 32. Jeremy Lin has been installed as the Knicks' starting point guard.

Mon Feb 6 201211:35Baron Davis not expected to play this week
Coach Mike D'Antoni does not expect Baron Davis (back) to debut this week.
No surprise here. Davis has had multiple setbacks and issues with his herniated disc. We can't safely project any kind of realistic target date. Jeremy Lin was named the Knicks' starting point guard on Monday.

Thu Feb 2 201216:17Best-case scenario for Davis is next week
The "best-case scenario" for Baron Davis' return is next week, according to coach Mike D'Antoni.
Davis' situation is growing less clear by the day. He isn't practicing with contact and continues to have trouble with his herniated disks. Even when/if he gets cleared, the chances of Davis sustaining health in this compacted schedule appear slim.

Wed Feb 1 201213:59Baron Davis doesn't practice, back flaring up
Baron Davis (back) was unable to practice on Wednesday due to back soreness.
Not good for an aging point guard rehabbing from a herniated disc. Davis' timetable has been all over the place, but the chances of him playing before next week at the earliest appear very slim. At this point, even next week might be an optimistic outlook for B-Diddy. He couldn't take contact due to soreness in his back, meaning Iman Shumpert and Toney Douglas will continue to see extended run at point guard for the foreseeable future.

Mon Jan 30 201213:48Baron Davis (conditioning) doubtful for Tues.
Baron Davis (conditioning) is doubtful to play on Tuesday.
This is no surprise since a report on Friday said he might not make his debut "for another week or two." He's been inactive for nearly nine months and is simply working himself into game shape.

Sun Jan 29 201209:23Baron Davis unlikely to debut for 1-2 weeks
Baron Davis isn't expected to make his Knicks debut "for another week or two," according to the NY Times.
Davis is physically healthy but his conditioning isn't good enough for game action, as he's been out of commission for nine months. This stings for all those owners who have him stashed away, and puts even more pressure on the reeling Knicks, who are 7-13 as we near the 1/3 mark of the shortened season.

Fri Jan 27 201210:58Baron Davis ruled out for Friday against Heat
Baron Davis (back) will not play on Friday.
Davis is not quite ready to take the floor yet, and our guess is that he debuts some time next week, possibly on Tuesday. He'll start at point guard whenever he's ready to go, but his timetable remains fluid.

Thu Jan 26 201214:16Baron Davis (back) to return on Tuesday?
After back-to-back games, Baron Davis (back) and the other Knicks reserves are expected to take place in an informal workout on Thursday.
According to Howard Beck of the New York Times, Davis probably won't play on Friday or Saturday, but may be in line to return on Tuesday. After some early reports that he could return as early as this week, Boom Dizzle has taken a little longer than expected to return to the lineup. Stay tuned.

Wed Jan 25 201217:43Baron Davis won't make Knicks debut Wednesday
Baron Davis (back) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game.
There was some hope that Davis would make his Knicks debut against the Cavs on Wednesday, but he's not quite ready. Iman Shumpert and the streaking Landry Fields (15.8 points in his last four games) should see extensive minutes again in the backcourt, with Davis' next chance to suit up coming on Friday against Miami.
