Pridie was called up from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday. |
The 31-year-old journeyman sure enjoyed his first season in the Pacific Coast League, slashing .310/.380/.515 with a career-high 20 homers and 89 RBI in 127 games with the Sounds. Pridie, a second-round pick in 2002, has had very little success at the major league level to this point, and the A's don't have much reason to give him a look as he's likely not a part of their long-term plans. |
Tue Dec 16 2014 | 20:32 | Pridie signed deal with SK Wyverns of Korea on Monday |
Pridie signed a deal with the SK Wyverns of Korea on Monday, Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com reports. |
A second-round pick in 2002, Pridie has appeared in just 15 games at the major league level over the past three seasons, including two in 2014. He's just a .225/.298/.364 career hitter at the major league level, but the 31-year-old Pridie will look to recoup some value overseas before perhaps looking to return to American baseball in 2016. |

Pridie appeared in two games earlier this past week with the Rockies as temporarily roster filler, but at 30 years old, he was never viewed as a viable part of the organization's long-term plans. He'll function as a depth player at Colorado Springs, where he was slashing .274/.340/.425 over 339 at-bats. |

Sat Aug 2 2014 | 16:10 | Pridie called up by Rockies on Saturday |
Pridie was called up by the Rockies on Saturday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. |
The move may portend Carlos Gonzalez's (ankle) placement on the disabled list, after missing his fourth game in the last 10 on Saturday. While the aforementioned transaction hasn't come to pass, Pridie will nonetheless provide depth to the Rockies' outfield. In 87 games at Triple-A Colorado Springs this season, he's slashed .275/.341/.426 with 10 homers and 22 stolen bases (in 28 attempts) across 338 at-bats. |
