Fri Mar 10 202310:56Paolo Banchero Puts Together Strong Stat Line In Loss
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero is still the clear favorite for rookie of the year at the moment and he keeps putting up more performances to remind everyone. On Thursday, he posted 26 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and one block while shooting 8-for-17 from the floor and 3-for-4 from deep. He also added seven made free throws out of his 11 attempts. Right now, his biggest knocks against him in category leagues are his field goal and free throw percentages which are common things for a rookie. He'll likely be highly valued in redraft leagues next season and should be coveted in dynasty formats.

Tue Feb 28 202307:53Paolo Banchero Breaks Out Of Slump With 29 Points
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero put his recent struggles behind him with a nice 29-point performance against the Pelicans on Monday. He still couldn't get anything going from deep but shot a good 10-for-18 overall from the field and 9-for-11 at the foul line, leading his squad to a 101-93 victory. Banchero came just two rebounds short of a double-double and posted four assists with one steal. This was a great finish for an otherwise miserable month, as the Duke product shot only 37.4 percent from the field across February. Banchero ended the month with back-to-back games shooting at least 50 percent from the field, which is hopefully a sign that he has regained his scoring touch and will be able to enjoy a good finish to his rookie campaign. The No. 1 pick still leads all first-year players in scoring with 19.9 points, is fourth in rebounds with 6.6 boards per game, and third in assists with 3.6.

Mon Feb 6 202307:48Paolo Banchero Notches A Double-Double Against Charlotte
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero recorded his eighth double-double of the season on Sunday, contributing a team-high 22 points and 10 rebounds in a 119-113 victory over the Hornets. He also had five assists and one steal for a nice line in 35 minutes, but Banchero's recent shooting struggles continued. He was 6-for-20 from the field with a 0-for- 4 record from deep and only managed to get past the 20-point mark with a good 10-for-11 effort at the foul line. The top pick of last year's draft is shooting a miserable 25.9 percent across his last three outings. Banchero hasn't managed to shoot better than 30 percent from the field in five of his last six games, so he's in a really bad shooting slump right now. Hopefully, a run of three straight home games helps him to get back on track.

Sun Jan 8 202307:54Paolo Banchero Has 25 Points In Win Over Warriors
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero led his squad with 25 points as the team took down Golden State Saturday on the road 115-101. He finished with 9-for-20 shooting from the field and had a 4-for-9 record from downtown. In 31 minutes on the court, Banchero also added five rebounds, three assists and one steal to his line. The No. 1 pick had a bad spell near the end of last month, but he has heated up again quickly and is averaging 26.7 points for 2023. He's also typically good for a nice amount of rebounds and dishes out his fair share of assists, so managers have been getting plenty of value out of the 20-year-old.

Fri Jan 6 202308:37Paolo Banchero Posts His Fourth 30-Point Game
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero posted yet another 30-point game in a losing effort against the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night. The rookie with the next highest amount of such games is Bennedict Mathurin with two. The Duke product finished this game with 30 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and one steal while shooting 50% on 20 attempts and 2-for-7 from deep. Banchero has especially been turning up the heat over the last three games as he's averaged 25.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game.

Sun Dec 18 202223:08Paolo Banchero Knocks Down Six Threes In Win Over Celtics
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero had his best shooting night of the season as he knocked down six of his seven three-point attempts in a 95-92 win over the Boston Celtics. The rookie amassed 31 points on 9-for-21 shooting while adding six rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Two solid performances back-to-back against one of the top teams in the East shows a promising sign for the rookie moving forward. So far in the month of December, his shooting percentages have dipped a bit, but his rebounding, assist, and defensive numbers have all went up.

Mon Dec 12 202208:13Paolo Banchero Notches His Fifth Double-Double
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero recorded his fifth double-double of the season Sunday, contributing 20 points and 12 rebounds in a 111-99 win over Toronto. He added five assists, one steal and one block for a nice full line in 37 minutes. Banchero shot 6-for-14 in the game, including 2-for-5 from downtown. The 20-year-old is having a great rookie campaign and his work includes seven 20-point outings in his past eight appearances. His 25-percent three-point shooting clearly needs a lot of work, but that hasn't kept Banchero from averaging 21.8 points per game with 6.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists.

Thu Nov 24 202216:50Paolo Banchero Set To Return Friday
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero (ankle) is set to return to the lineup Friday versus the Sixers. He has been removed from the injury report and should feature following a seven-game absence. Banchero is having an impressive debut campaign, averaging 23.5 points with 8.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists. He will look to register a third consecutive 30-point outing Friday. Chuma Okeke (knee) is set to head to the bench with Banchero returning, and he might miss the game altogether, as the team has listed Okeke as questionable for the game with left knee soreness.

Sat Nov 19 202216:34Paolo Banchero Out Again Versus Indiana
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero (ankle) won't play on Saturday versus the Indiana Pacers, marking his sixth consecutive absence. It's unknown how long the rookie will be out, although his next chance to make it back will come on Monday for the rematch with Indy. Without him, Bol Bol, Jalen Suggs, and Wendell Carter Jr. (foot) should remain the primary scoring options. Chuma Okeke, who has averaged 7.6 points, 5.4 boards, and 1.0 blocks this season as a starter, will likely continue to fill in for Banchero, giving him some value in deep fantasy formats.

Wed Nov 16 202215:17Paolo Banchero Still Out Wednesday
Orlando Magic power forward Paolo Banchero (ankle) will miss a fourth consecutive game Wednesday against Minnesota. The top pick of this year's draft is recovering from a left ankle sprain. He was carrying a questionable tag before getting ruled out, so it appears that Banchero's return isn't far away, but he still needs some time off. His absence has pushed Chuma Okeke to the starting unit, and he's been solid for most parts, but his numbers do have room for improvement, with the 24-year-old having averaged 9.7 points, five rebounds and a block per game in 31.7 minutes. The team definitely needs more from him, especially if Wendell Carter Jr. (foot) also ends up missing the game.

Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero (ankle) is questionable to play Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Banchero has missed three straight games and is in danger of missing a fourth on Wednesday. If Banchero does remain out, Chuma Okeke will likely remain in the starting lineup and continue to see big minutes. Franz Wagner should continue to see a boost in usage as well.

Mon Nov 14 202217:49Paolo Banchero Won't Play On Monday
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. It appears the young forward will miss at least one more contest due to a left ankle sprain. Chuma Okeke is expected to continue filling in and has been playing over 30 minutes during the last two games. He isn't a great streaming option, but is worth looking at in deeper leagues while Banchero is sidelined.

Fri Nov 11 202217:40Paolo Banchero Out Again On Friday
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero (ankle) won't play against Phoenix. The 19-year-old will now miss his second consecutive game as he continues to be sidelined by a sprained ankle. Without Banchero, Chuma Okeke will remain in the starting lineup. Okeke scored only eight points in 32 minutes while filling in for the rookie on Wednesday night, although he's certainly capable of playing much better. With that said, Franz Wagner, Wendell Carter Jr., and Jalen Suggs are the favorites to lead the way offensively on Friday night.

Thu Nov 10 202223:16Paolo Banchero Questionable On Friday Night
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero (ankle) is questionable ahead of Friday's meeting with Phoenix. The rookie has a sprained right ankle and didn't play on Wednesday against Dallas. As a result, he was replaced in the starting lineup by Chuma Okeke, who had only eight points in 32 minutes. If Banchero misses another game, Franz Wagner, Wendell Carter Jr., and Jalen Suggs should do most of the heavy lifting on the offensive end.

Wed Nov 9 202218:13Paolo Banchero Downgraded To Out On Wednesday
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero (ankle) was previously listed as questionable on Wednesday but has since been downgraded to out. The Magic have had issues putting up numbers in the win column as it is, and now Banchero marks their seventh player listed as out for this contest. The rookie has been sensational, as he's been setting scoring marks that haven't been accomplished since LeBron James in 2003. Fantasy managers can look to Franz Wagner, Terrence Rossand Chuma Okeke to get more minutes and opportunities.

Tue Nov 8 202220:01Paolo Banchero Questionable Against Mavericks
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero (ankle) is listed as questionable to play Wednesday against the Dallas Mavericks. The standout rookie appears to have suffered a left ankle sprain after his 30-point performance on Monday. The injury does not initially appear to be serious, but is something to monitor. If Banchero is unable to go, Chuma Okeke and Mo Bamba will likely see increased roles.

Fri Nov 4 202209:32Paolo Banchero Scores 22 Points In Win
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero continues to drop 20-point games in his first season in the NBA. In the win over the Golden State Warriors, Banchero notched his seventh game of 20 or more points which means he's only failed to reach that mark in just two games so far. The rookie registered 22 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and one block on 8-for-17 shooting. While he didn't hit any of his threes, he still provides value from everywhere else on the court. For an ADP that was near the end of the sixth round, he's definitely returning more than expected value in all fantasy formats.

Wed Oct 26 202222:33Paolo Banchero Scores 29 Points Versus Cavs
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero scored a career-high 29 points on Wednesday versus Cleveland. The 19-year-old shot 10-for-19 from the field while making three of his five attempts from deep. He also had eight boards, four assists, two blocks, and a steal. Banchero has had a fantastic inaugural season so far and is currently the highest-scoring rookie in the NBA. He should continue to produce in many areas moving ahead, although his three-point shooting is still a work in progress, much to the dismay of category managers.
