Polk (hamstring) is probable for Monday's game against the Colts, the Eagles' official site reports.
Given that he's behind LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles in the Eagles' RB pecking order these days, Polk is an injury break away from lineup consideration.

Polk (hamstring) participated fully in Thursday's practice.
Polk was unlimited during all three practices in advance of Week 1 but was still placed on the inactive list against the Jaguars. Even if he's able to play Monday at Indianapolis, he'll be the third banana to LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles out of the backfield.
Sun Sep 7 201411:50Polk (hamstring) inactive for Sunday's game against Jaguars
Polk (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Sheil Kapadia of PhillyMag.com reports.
Because Polk is somewhat ailing, the Eagles will stick with two running backs in Week 1. Darren Sproles will cover the looks not handed to standout back LeSean McCoy.

Polk (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against Jacksonville.
Polk was listed as a full practice participant for each day this week, so he should be expected to suit up as LeSean McCoy's top backup at the true running back position, though Darren Sproles will likely see significantly more snaps in his custom running back/wideout hybrid role.
Wed Sep 3 201416:44Polk (hamstring) practiced fully Wednesday
Polk (hamstring) practiced fully Wednesday.
Despite returning to practice on Aug. 23, Polk tweaked the hamstring that had hindered him throughout camp. As a result, he didn't get in any preseason action but is slated to be available out of the Eagles' backfield Sunday against the Jaguars.

Polk (hamstring) was a full participant at Tuesday's practice and expects to be ready for Sunday's regular season opener versus the Jaguars, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Polk suffered a Grade 2 partial tear of his hamstring in late July, which subsequently kept the running back sidelined for all four preseason games. Nonetheless, Polk survived roster cuts over the weekend and is slated to serve as the Eagles' No. 3 option out of the backfield behind LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles. While Polk expects to be ready to play Sunday, his participation in Wednesday's padded practice could offer further insight regarding his Week 1 status.
Sat Aug 30 201414:22Polk (hamstring) not among Eagles' roster cuts Saturday
Polk (hamstring) was not among the Eagles' roster cuts Saturday, the Star-Ledger reports.
Meanwhile, Kenjon Barner, Matthew Tucker and Henry Josey were all waived by the team, leaving Polk -- who has been battling a hamstring injury -- as the team's presumed No. 3 running back behind LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles. Assuming his return health and no further additions at the running back position, Polk thus remains a McCoy injury away from fantasy relevance.

Polk had a minor setback with his hamstring in advance of Thursday's preseason finale against the Jets, CSNPhilly's Geoff Mosher reports.
While the report indicates that Polk is expected to be okay for Week 1, it remains to be seen if he sticks with the Eagles following upcoming roster cut-downs. Perhaps helping his cause is that fellow RBs Matthew Tucker and Kenjon Barner were banged up in Thursday's game, though Henry Josey presumably helped his chances by recording 121 rushing yards on 22 carries in the contest.

Polk (hamstring) was not in uniform for Thursday's preseason finale against the Jets, CSNPhilly's Geoff Mosher reports.
It's possible that Polk, who has been hampered by a hamstring injury of late -- but had hoped to play Thursday -- was held out as a precaution. We'll be watching the Eagles' upcoming roster cuts with great interest this weekend to see if Polk -- who had been expected to factor in the team's backfield mix behind LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles -- is retained by the team.

Polk (hamstring) is aiming to take the field for Thursday's preseason finale versus the Jets, ESPN.com reports.
Polk sustained a Grade 2 partial tear of his hamstring in late July, which has held him out of the first three exhibitions. However, after returning to practice Saturday, he's champing at the bit to show his worth out of an Eagles backfield in which Kenjon Barner, Matthew Tucker, and Henry Josey are all competing for what are likely two reserve running back spots.
Sat Aug 23 201413:11Polk (hamstring) returned to practice Saturday
Polk (hamstring) returned to practice Saturday, the Star-Ledger reports.
After missing close to three weeks with his hamstring issue, Polk will give it a go Saturday, with an eye toward cementing a role in the Eagles' backfield mix behind roster locks LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles. Also jostling for slotting on the team's RB depth chart are Matthew Tucker, Kenjon Barner and Henry Josey.

Polk (hamstring) will not play in Thursday's preseason game versus the Steelers, CSN Philadelphia reports.
Polk hasn't practiced in more than three weeks since suffering a Grade 2 partial tear of his hamstring. That time will cost him a third preseason game Thursday, although Polk expects to return to practice next week. Whenever he does take the field next, Polk will face fresh competition at running back, as the Eagles traded for ex-Panther Kenjon Barner on Tuesday.
Fri Aug 15 201418:21Polk (hamstring) won't play Friday against Patriots
Polk (hamstring) won't play Friday against the Patriots.
With Polk, Matthew Tucker and David Fluellen out Friday, look for rookie Henry Josey to see his share of reps working behind LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles.

Polk (hamstring) did not participate in Thursday's morning walkthrough, csnphilly.com reports.
The same applies to fellow running backs Matthew Tucker and David Fluellen, with the trio unlikely to play in Friday's preseason contest against the Patriots. Assuming that's the case, Henry Josey figures to be in line for added reps (behind LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles) on Friday.
Sat Aug 9 201401:58Polk (hamstring) did not play in Friday's preseason opener again...
Polk (hamstring) did not play in Friday's preseason opener against the Bears.
Polk is No. 3 on the depth chart behind LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles, which essentially puts the third-year player one injury away from a significant workload, as Sproles had more receptions than carries in his final two seasons with the Saints. Matthew Tucker, who is firmly entrenched at No. 4 on the depth chart according to head coach Chip Kelly, carried eight times for 40 yards and two touchdowns while working with the second-team offense in Friday's game. The strong outing doesn't make Tucker a threat to Polk's standing, but it could be something to keep an eye on, particularly if Polk's seemingly-minor hamstring issue lingers.
Wed Jul 30 201413:37Polk slowed in training camp by hamstring tweak
Polk has been slowed in training camp by a hamstring tweak, csnphilly.com reports.
It appears as though Polk is past his offseason shoulder surgery, but for now, he's slowed by what looks like a minor hamstring issue. While Polk is expected to slot in behind LeSean McCoy and change-of-pace option Darren Sproles (in terms of touches) in the Eagles' offense -- assuming he is not supplanted by a player such as Matthew Tucker or Henry Josey -- he'll maintain value as McCoy's likely replacement in the event of an injury.
Mon Jul 7 201409:34Chris Polk should have an expanded role
CSN Philly's Geoff Mosher believes Eagles RB Chris Polk could average "between six and eight touches per game."
With Bryce Brown now in Buffalo, the Eagles are relying on Polk as the primary backup to LeSean McCoy. Brown saw around five touches a game in the backup role last season, but Mosher believes Polk's versatility will allow him to be more involved in the offense. While he will not carry much redraft value on his own, Polk is the handcuff to target for McCoy owners.

Thu Jun 12 201409:18Polk would lead committee if Shady went down
Eagles RB Chris Polk would likely lead a committee if LeSean McCoy got hurt.
Darren Sproles might see a slight bump in carries in the event of a Shady injury, but his role as a strict passing back would stay mostly intact. Polk is the traditional back that impressed coaches last year, starring on special teams and averaging 8.9 yards on his 11 carries. With Bryce Brown gone, Polk is the handcuff for McCoy owners. He's past his offseason shoulder surgery and participating fully in OTAs.

Tue Feb 25 201413:42Chris Polk to have bigger role in 2014
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Chris Polk is expected to have a more prominent offensive role in 2014.
The Eagles are expected to try and trade Bryce Brown this offseason after he proved to be a poor fit in coach Chip Kelly's offense. Brown simply wastes too many yards going East-West, and Kelly prefers Polk's North-South running style. Polk is already a solid special teamer and averaged 8.9 YPC on 11 totes in 2013.
