Wed Jan 22 201419:53Eagles RB Polk undergoes shoulder surgery
Eagles RB Chris Polk underwent shoulder surgery earlier this week.
Polk originally injured his shoulder in Week 6 against the Bucs. He rushed 11 times for 98 yards and three touchdowns this past season, adding 61 more yards on four catches. Depending on how significant the operation was, Polk should be ready to compete for the No. 2 job in training camp.

Chris Polk did not touch the ball in Saturday's Wild Card loss to the Saints.
Polk won a roster spot with a big training camp and ended up stealing some backup passing-down work from Bryce Brown. He finished the season with 11 carries for 98 yards with three touchdowns and four catches for 61 yards. Polk will have to earn a roster spot as the No. 3 back again in next year's camp.

Mon Dec 16 201308:50Chris Polk moves ahead of Bryce Brown?
Chris Polk appeared to move ahead of Bryce Brown in Sunday's Week 15 loss at Minnesota.
The Eagles coaches have been talking up the play of Polk lately. On Sunday, neither backup runner recorded a carry, but Polk played more snaps and saw one target. It's an indictment of Brown, who has rushed 64 times for just 188 yards (2.93 YPC) on the season. He's draws to the sideline like a magnet while Polk hits holes hard inside.

Sun Dec 8 201316:49Chris Polk breaks off a long TD run
Chris Polk rushed four times for 50 yards with one touchdown in Sunday's Week 14 win over the Lions.
Due to the heavy snow on the field, the Eagles used Polk ahead of Bryce Brown in ball-control situations. The power back rewarded them as he busted through the line for a 38-touchdown with under three minutes remaining to ice the win. Don't expect Polk to move ahead of Brown permanently.

Sun Sep 29 201320:07Chris Polk gets a TD in loss
Chris Polk rushed three times for 33 yards with a touchdown and caught two passes for 19 yards in Sunday's Week 4 loss to the Broncos.
Polk's touchdown came when LeSean McCoy had the wind knocked out of him and Bryce Brown was getting a breather. He's not a threat for No. 2 running back duties, but Polk is a very talented No. 3. Polk is a name to watch if McCoy ever misses a game.

Fri Aug 16 201311:29Chris Polk loses fumble against Panthers
Eagles RB Chris Polk rushed five times for 24 yards but lost a fumble in Thursday night's preseason game against Carolina.
Polk finally ripped off a few decent runs, but the lost fumble could put him in Chip Kelly's doghouse as Polk attempts to hold off Bryce Brown. Kelly detests fumblers, and has made that known repeatedly in interviews. Through two preseason games, Polk has 31 yards on nine carries (3.44 YPC) with a nine-yard catch.

Fri Aug 9 201321:54Chris Polk struggles in preseason opener
Eagles RB Chris Polk rushed four times for seven yards in Friday night's preseason opener versus New England.
Philly's blocking was ineffective, but Polk didn't show the ability to turn nothing into something, either. He did get the "start" with LeSean McCoy resting, playing ahead of Bryce Brown. Of course, Polk was also severely outplayed by Brown, who rushed five times for 22 yards and a touchdown, and added 19 yards receiving. If it comes down to talent, Brown will beat out Polk handily.

Tue Aug 6 201316:10Chris Polk legit contender for No. 2 job?
NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah "(wouldn't) be surprised" if Eagles RB Chris Polk claimed No. 2 duties.
Polk has been making waves all camp, but we'd still be surprised if he could edge the far-more talented Bryce Brown behind LeSean McCoy. That could change if Polk's progress translates to the preseason, and Brown continues to bounce too many runs outside while struggling with ball security.

Sun Aug 4 201317:47Chris Polk having outstanding training camp
According to CSN Philly, second-year RB Chris Polk is "making the best impression so far" of all the Eagles' running backs.
Polk dropped weight in the offseason and is reportedly ripping off "eye-opening carries" while taking away some second-team reps from Bryce Brown. Polk is worth monitoring in Dynasty leagues, but it's still difficult to imagine him emerging as a re-draft factor behind LeSean McCoy and more talented Brown.

Wed Jul 31 201317:07Chip Kelly praises Chris Polk
Eagles coach Chip Kelly praised RB Chris Polk Wednesday.
"Really truly understands the blocking scheme," Kelly said. "I think the last couple of days he's really come across. ... (He) has versatility and can catch a ball coming out of the backfield. I think he's not just a one‑dimensional guy." We haven't seen anything to suggest Polk is pushing Bryce Brown for No. 2 duties, but with the Eagles offense likely to be extremely run heavy, this could be an indication Kelly has a role in mind for his former Pac 12 foe. Polk remains off the fantasy radar, however.

Thu Apr 11 201313:57Chris Polk slims down to 210 pounds
Eagles RB Chris Polk has slimmed down to 210 pounds.
Polk is listed at 5-foot-11 and 222 pounds on the Eagles' official website. The second-year pro is dropping weight in order to play in new coach Chip Kelly's offense, which Polk says he is "excited" about. With Dion Lewis out of the mix, Polk is Philly's No. 3 back behind LeSean McCoy and Bryce Brown.

Eagles RB Chris Polk was spotted on crutches and in a walking boot Thursday.
The Eagles won't miss Polk if he misses time. The undrafted rookie power back has zero offensive touches in seven appearances this year while playing behind LeSean McCoy and Bryce Brown.
