Thu Sep 23 2021 | 08:05 | Anthony Santander Dealing With A Hamstring Injury |
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander (hamstring) was held out of Wednesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies due to a hamstring injury. Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters that Santander sustained the injury during Tuesday's game. The severity of the injury isn't clear at this point, but he should be considered day-to-day. Ryan McKenna, who started in left field on Wednesday, would see an increase in playing time if Santander is forced to miss additional games. Over 108 games on the year, Santander is slashing .244/.289/.432 with 17 home runs, 48 RBI and 53 runs. |

Wed Sep 22 2021 | 18:24 | Anthony Santander Sitting Out On Wednesday |
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander is absent from the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Zack Wheeler and the Philadelphia Phillies. Cedric Mullins, Austin Hays and Ryan McKenna will patrol the outfield for the game. Santander has been regularly hitting third in the lineup lately. He had a strong month of August, slashing .309/.350/.617 with eight home runs, but he's slowed down in September. He's slashed just .225/.257/.380 with three home runs this month. He should continue to be a regular in the team's lineup going forward. Expect to see him back on the field for Thursday's series opener against the Texas Rangers. |

Mon Sep 13 2021 | 12:06 | Anthony Santander Homers Again Sunday |
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander hit his third home run in the last four games in Sunday's 22-7 loss to the Blue Jays. Santander went 1-for-3 with a solo shot, a walk, and a strikeout. He has brought the power lately but his three HR, eight RBI, and .256/.273/.488 slash line in September still isn't all that impressive. The O's have tough matchups this week against the Yankees and Red Sox, so Santander may not be the best waiver wire option even with the HR lately. |

Tue Sep 7 2021 | 09:46 | Anthony Santander Hitting Woes Continue Monday |
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander had another hitless game with a strikeout in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Royals. The 26-year-old has struggled to produce all season long but has just two hits so far in the month of September. He had been a useful fantasy option over the past several seasons, so 2021 has been a big disappointment for Santander. He still holds fantasy appeal in dynasty and keeper leagues, but he should have been long-dropped in single-season leagues by now. |

Sat Sep 4 2021 | 12:19 | Anthony Santander Heads To Bench Saturday |
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander isn't in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the New York Yankees according to MLB.com. Ryan McKenna will bat eighth and play left field in his place. Santander hasn't been able to replicate his productive 2020 season, in which he posted a .890 OPS, hitting .247 with 14 HRs and a .438 slugging. He shouldn't be rostered in most leagues but offers double-digit home run numbers for fantasy managers in very deep leagues. Those rostering him should change their lineup accordingly. |
