Cutler completed 25-of-38 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns in Monday's 27-19 win over the Jets. He lost a fumble and rushed for 17 yards on two carries.
Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) looked much improved from a week ago, while Brandon Marshall (ankle) briefly left the game and finished with just one reception. It was tight end Martellus Bennett who caught both of the touchdowns, including one in the first quarter on an excellent throw from Cutler. The Bears once again failed to get their running game going, and the offensive line also struggled in pass protection. Though he missed a few throws and averaged a modest 5.9 yards per pass attempt, Cutler mostly played a solid game. He'll face a shaky Packers defense next week, and his receivers should only continue to get healthier.

Cutler completed 23-of-34 passes for 176 yards and four touchdowns, adding five carries for 25 yards in Sunday's 28-20 win over the 49ers.
After struggling through most of the first half, Cutler mounted a touchdown drive right before the break, and then scored on each of his three second-half drives. The rally was aided by Colin Kaepernick turnovers, as Chicago's final two touchdown drives went for a combined 45 yards. While still somewhat up-and-down from a real-life perspective, Cutler is off to a strong fantasy start, after throwing for 349 yards and two touchdowns last week. Even with only 176 passing yards to show for his night, Cutler did well to pile up four touchdowns when his star wide receivers were both banged up. He should find success next Monday night in the Meadowlands, against a weak Jets secondary that was shredded by Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson on Sunday. One thing to keep an eye on: Cutler took a vicious hit to the chest in the second quarter of Sunday's game, and while he was fantastic after the blow, it was clear at the time that he was in quite a bit of pain.

Cutler completed 34-of-49 passes for 349 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against the Bills, though he was also picked off twice.
Cutler connected on passes to eight different players, with wide receiver Brandon Marshall, tight end Martellus Bennett and running back Matt Forte each catching eight, with the former two scoring touchdowns. And while the two interceptions were costly, he was still able to lead the Bears on a 12-play, 61-yard drive that led to a game-tying field goal with 30 second remaining to send the game into overtime. Cutler's 49 passing attempts were more than he had in any game last season, so while fantasy owners should continue to anticipate more passes than rushing attempts from the Bears, that level will likely not be maintained.

Cutler went 12-for-20 with 157 yards and an interception as the Bears' first-team offense failed to generate any points against the Seahawks.
Facing about as tough of an opponent as any in the all-important third preseason game, Cutler struggled to move the ball while playing most of the first half. He appeared poised to at least end his night on a high note when Martellus Bennett hauled in a 23-yard pass at the Seahawks' one-yard line to put the Bears in position for a score, but Cutler threw a goal-line interception three plays later to kill the momentum. Friday's performance aside, Cutler has performed much better in his second training camp under coach Marc Trestman, and could be on track from a career-best season if health permits.

Cutler completed seven-of-nine passes for 75 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's preseason game against the Jaguars.
Cutler looked good for the second week in a row, and one of his two incompletions came on a drop by Brandon Marshall. With his uber-talented supporting cast healthy, and the offensive line looking good, Cutler has all the pieces in place to put together a big season. The only real question is whether he'll be able to avoid turnovers and injuries, the two issues that have plagued him the last few seasons.

Cutler completed 9-of-13 passes for 85 yards and a touchdown in Friday's preseason opener against the Eagles.
The Bears' first drive only lasted three snaps, but the second was a 13-play, 69-yard work of art. Cutler obviously has no competition for playing time, and his supporting cast is among the league's best.
Wed Jul 30 201409:46Cutler sharp in four practices at training camp thus far
Cutler has been sharp in his four practices at training camp thus far, ESPNChicago.com reports.
Although he was slow to adapt last summer to coach Marc Trestman's playbook, Cutler seems to be more comfortable this time around. High expectations will be placed on Cutler after he signed a seven-year, $126 million contract in January, but with a sturdy offensive line and a talented stable of weapons in the receiving game, he could set career highs in nearly every category this season if he can merely stay healthy.
Fri Jul 11 201420:18Cutler 'more familiar' in Trestman's offense
Jay Cutler confirmed he's more familiar in second-year coach Marc Trestman's offense this season.
"This is only the second or third time I've been in an offense multiple years," Cutler said. "Talent-wise and being in the system, all that adds up. Hopefully we stay healthy and see where this goes." Cutler expects to play faster now that he's acclimated in Trestman's scheme and will have more flexibility at the line of scrimmage. He was on pace for a career-high 31 touchdowns last year, but missed five games to injury. Signed to a seven-year, $126 million extension in January, Cutler is owed $54 million guaranteed over the next three seasons.

Tue Jun 10 201414:34Trestman: Jay Cutler is 'bigger and stronger'
Coach Marc Trestman says Jay Cutler is "bigger, he's stronger than a year ago."
"Jay has really worked hard in the offseason, and he has always been a hard worker in his conditioning and his training, but he has really amped it up," Trestman continued. Cutler is going to be a 2014 value pick. If we combine his and Josh McCown's numbers from 2013, they would have been fantasy's No. 5 quarterback. Cutler has one of the best supporting casts and an ultra-friendly system under Trestman. The main concern, as always with Cutler, is durability.

Mon Mar 24 201417:38Bears restructure Jay Cutler's contract
The Bears have converted $5 million of Jay Cutler's 2014 base salary into a "signing" bonus, creating $4 million in cap room.
The Bears just signed Cutler to a seven-year, $126.7 million contract on January 2, so the fact that they're already having to restructure could be considered a small reason for concern. His base salary dropped from $22.5 million to $17.5 million, and Cutler "loses" no money in the "new" deal. The Bears will likely use the salary cap savings to get their incoming rookie class signed.

Mon Jan 6 201412:49Bears can get out of Cutler deal after 3 yrs
The Bears can cut Jay Cutler three seasons into his new seven-year deal with no cap hit.
Everyone that freaked out over the length of Cutler's deal can breathe now. He got no signing bonus, only guaranteed base salaries of $22.5M in 2014, $15.5M in 2015 and $16M in 2016 for a total of $54 million guaranteed. If the Bears want to move on in 2017 when Cutler turns 34 years old, they'll be able to do so with no strings attached.

Tue Dec 31 201317:43Jay Cutler expects to find 'equal ground'
Impending free agent Jay Cutler expects to find "equal ground" with the Bears in contract talks.
"I don't know when it's going to happen," Cutler admitted. "And eventually it might not happen. But we're going to take a crack at it, I'm sure. ... You never know how it's going to go." Cutler's ambivalence could be taken as a side that the sides are indeed planning a divorce, but it's likely neither party yet knows how things are going to turn out. It's extremely rare for franchise-caliber quarterbacks to simply walk in free agency. We doubt Cutler will be the exception.

Mon Dec 23 201310:19Bears sticking with Jay Cutler for Week 17
Coach Marc Trestman confirmed the Bears will start Jay Cutler in Week 17.
Cutler was not sharp in the 54-11 loss at Philadelphia on Sunday night, completing just 57.1 percent of his passes for 222 yards with one touchdown and one interception. But he had zero protection, getting sacked five times and taking a ton of hits. Trestman has already proven that he's going to ride or die with Cutler as he sat down a white-hot Josh McCown for Week 15. The Bears will face the Packers with the NFC North title and a playoff berth on the line in Week 17.

Sun Dec 22 201323:36Cutler throws for 222 yards, TD in loss
Jay Cutler completed 20-of-35 passes for 222 yards, one touchdown, and an interception in Sunday night's Week 16 loss to the Eagles.
Cutler struggled to move the Bears offense and took seven sacks before being rested late in the fourth quarter. His touchdown came on a back-shoulder throw to Brandon Mashall from six yards out. Cutler threw a brutal pick-six to Brandon Boykin against a soft zone defense on his final drive before being removed. Josh McCown completed 2-of-4 passes for 20 yards in spot duty. With the loss, the Bears will play the Packers in a winner-take-all game in Week 17.

Thu Dec 19 201315:54Trestman 'leaves door open' to rest players
Speaking Thursday, Bears coach Marc Trestman "left the door open" to potentially resting players in Sunday night's game depending on the results of the Lions and Packers games.
Although that's likely sending a chill down every Jay Cutler owner's spine, that would require not only the Packers to lose, but Eli Manning and the Giants to defeat Ndamukong Suh and the Lions on the road. It's not going to happen. Start Cutler, Matt Forte, Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall as you normally would.

Sun Dec 15 201317:49Cutler emerges from return healthy
Jay Cutler said following Sunday's win that he emerged from the game "in good physical condition."
Cutler made a mostly-sparkling return from a high ankle sprain to drop 265 passing yards, three touchdowns, and two picks on the Browns. He was "cleated once" in the game, but looked as mobile as ever and made several big-time throws downfield. He's going to be a QB1 in Week 16 against Philadelphia.
