Amendola caught 1-of-3 targets for a 19-yard touchdown in Thursday's 27-25 win over the Jets.
Though he didn't catch a pass until his fourth-quarter touchdown on a 3rd-and-goal from the 19-yard line, Amendola helped the Patriots all night with some good work on kickoff returns, and he also drew a key pass interference to set up a field goal at the end of the first half. Two snaps before his shocking touchdown, Amendola caught a short pass near the end zone that was wiped out by an offensive pass interference penalty on teammate Brandon LaFell. While his added kick return duties may be promising in return-yardage leagues, Amendola has just five receptions and 13 targets through seven games, making him waiver-wire fodder in all but the deepest of standard formats.

Amendola, who did not record a catch Sunday, was on the field for 24-of-74 snaps on offense in the Patriots' win over the Bills, ESPN.com reports.
Most of Amendola's work these days is in three-receiver sets, with Julian Edelman and Brandon LaFell clearly the team's top two options at wideout these days.

Amendola caught one pass for seven yards in Sunday's 43-17 win over the Bengals.
Amendola was on the field for 20-of-84 snaps on offense Sunday, and at this point he is clearly behind bothJulian Edelman (69 snaps) and Brandon LaFell (77 snaps) in the Patriots' wideout pecking order.

Amendola revealed Thursday that he underwent offseason adductor surgery to repair the torn groin muscle that troubled him last season, the Boston Herald reports.
It was previously believed that Amendola had avoided such a procedure, and while the wideout isn't inclined to blame his slow start (three catches for 16 yards in four games to date), it's fair to wonder if it has had some effect on his ability to create separation from opposing defenders. In any case, he's off the fantasy radar for now after not catching a pass in his last three games. While we suppose that he could bounce back in the coming weeks, a wait-and-see approach is clearly in order for fantasy owners on that front.

Amendola was on the field for 28-of-50 snaps on offense in Monday's loss to the Chiefs, ESPN.com reports.
At this stage, Amendola is behind Julian Edelman and Brandon LaFell in the Patriots' wideout pecking order and after three straight games without a catch, he's off the fantasy lineup radar for now.
Mon Sep 22 201419:03Amendola on field for 28-of-73 snaps on offense in Sunday's win ...
Amendola was on the field for 28-of-73 snaps on offense in Sunday's win over the Raiders, ESPN.com reports.
Amendola did not catch a pass for the second straight week and it looks like it could take an injury to one of his fellow wideouts for his fantasy prospects to be lifted.
Sun Sep 14 201418:49Amendola did not catch pass in Sunday's 30-7 win over Vikings
Amendola did not catch a pass in Sunday's 30-7 win over the Vikings.
At this stage, it looks like it might take a Julian Edelman injury for Amendola to see a major uptick in targets, though his quiet Week 2 effort is partially explained by the fact that the Patriots were not forced to rely heavily on the passing game on Sunday.
Sun Sep 7 201423:04Amendola caught three passes on five targets for 16 yards in Sun...
Amendola caught three passes on five targets for 16 yards in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins.
Meanwhile, fellow wideouts Julian Edelman and Kenbrell Thompkins combined for 11 catches on 18 targets. It's too early to panic here, but Amendola will need to pick up the pace in the coming weeks -- starting next Sunday against the Vikings -- in order to remain on the PPR radar.

Amendola caught two passes for 13 yards on two targets in Friday's preseason game against the Panthers.
With the Patriots opening in a three-wide set, Amendola got the start alongside Julian Edelman and Kenbrell Thompkins, the latter of whom may eventually lose his spot in the lineup to Aaron Dobson (foot). While he may not get much playing time in two-wide formations, Amendola could end up drawing more of Tom Brady's attention than Thompkins/Dobson, as the Patriots figure to go three-wide quite often. Edelman still appears to be Brady's favorite wideout by a wide margin.

Amendola was among the Patriots' key players who did not play in Thursday's preseason opener, the Boston Herald reports.
Neither did fellow listed starting wideout Julian Edelman, who at this stage the Boston Herald suggests remains QB Tom Brady's favorite wideout target. With Aaron Dobson still hobbled, Amendola thus slots in as the signal-caller's second-favorite wide receiver look, an assignment that carries fantasy value, notably in PPR formats, assuming Amendola can avoid the injury bug.
Mon Jun 9 201408:26Amendola looking good at OTAs
Reporting from OTAs, ESPN Boston says Danny Amendola "once again looks like the player who caught the eye in these practices last year."
Amendola was an offseason star last year, but a serious Week 1 groin injury and downright poor on-field performance turned him into a bust. He's completely healthy now, penciled into three-wide sets and is still just 28 years old, so there's room for renewed optimism. If Amendola can somehow sustain health this year, he'll be well worth a late-round value pick. The Patriots don't want to Julian Edelman catching 105 passes again.

Thu May 8 201410:16Amendola avoided offseason groin surgery
Danny Amendola did not need offseason surgery on his groin.
Amendola tore his adductor longus tendon in Week 1 last year, and it plagued him throughout his entire first season as a Patriot. He now says he's 100 percent and is participating fully in voluntary workouts. There will be plenty of bounce-back appeal in Amendola, especially if Rob Gronkowski (ACL) misses the first chunk of the season.

Wed Mar 12 201409:51$2M of Danny Amendola's salary now guaranteed
$2 million of Danny Amendola's $3 million base salary became guaranteed Tuesday.
Beat man Ben Volin points out that Amendola's deal does contain offsets, but adds that he now "likely stays." It's no surprise given how thin the Patriots are at wideout -- especially now that free agent Julian Edelman is out testing the market. Amendola was a brutal disappointment during his first year in New England, but slogged through a debilitating hip injury. It's always about healthy here, but Amendola will be a huge bounce-back candidate as a potential target monster from Tom Brady in 2014.

Mon Mar 3 201409:27Danny Amendola was looking good before injury
ESPN Boston says Danny Amendola "looked terrific in offseason camps, the preseason and the regular-season opener before significantly injuring his groin."
It's why we were surprised to read a report that Amendola's name has been floated in trade talks. The Patriots don't typically sell low on players, especially one year after prioritizing them over Wes Welker and Julian Edelman. Amendola's disappointing 54-633-2 line was almost certainly a result of his injury. If they cut or trade him, it would be a very quick 180 for Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels.

Sat Mar 1 201411:36Amendola's name has come up in trade talks
Bleacher Report's Dan Pompei says Danny Amendola's name has been "floated" in trade talks.
Amendola posted a disappointing 54-633-2 line in 12 regular season games in 2013 and was an absolute non-factor in New England's AFC Championship loss to Denver. This report comes on the heels of one from the Boston Globe saying Amendola is a candidate for a post-June 1 cut, which would save the Patriots $1.375 million against the 2014 cap. The Pats signed Amendola to a five-year, $28.5 million deal only last March, but his future in New England is in serious doubt.

Sun Jan 26 201410:52Report: Amendola's roster spot in danger
The Boston Globe insists Danny Amendola's roster spot could be in danger.
Amendola inked a five-year, $28.5 million deal with the Patriots last March. It included $10 million guaranteed. $2 million of Amendola's $3 million base salary for 2014 becomes guaranteed if he's on the Patriots' roster come 4 PM ET on March 11. Beat writer Ben Volin thinks New England could designate Amendola as a post-June 1 cut and use the money saved to re-sign Julian Edelman.

Sat Jan 25 201410:49Amendola not expected to need groin surgery
Danny Amendola isn't expected to need offseason groin surgery.
Amendola tore his adductor longs tendon in the season opener, and it played a major role in his disappointing first season in New England. It's believed the injury can heal with rest, so that's the route Amendola and the Patriots will travel for now. Amendola signed a five-year deal last March.

Wed Jan 22 201408:35Danny Amendola's groin injury was to blame?
ESPN Boston says Danny Amendola's groin injury played a major role in his disappointing season.
Amendola tore his adductor longus tendon while catching 10 passes for 104 yards in Week 1. In the 11 games he was active for after that, he averaged 4.0 catches for 48.0 yards and scored two touchdowns. "It's important to remember how much pain he played through. Year 2 -- provided he's healthier -- should be better," wrote Field Yates. The Pats clearly thought Amendola was capable of much more as they gave him a five-year, $28 million contract with $10 million guaranteed last offseason. It remains to be seen if he will get the coveted slot role back in 2014 as free agent Julian Edelman gets set to test the market.
