Mon Jan 20 201409:01Danny Amendola made no impact on 41 snaps
Danny Amendola played on 41-of-59 snaps in Sunday's season-ending loss to the Broncos.
In a microcosm of Amendola's season, he was held without a catch despite the heavy usage and committed a third-quarter drop. His brutally disappointing first year in New England yielded just 54 catches for 633 yards and two touchdowns as he battled a serious early-season groin injury, losing slot duties to Julian Edelman in the process. Amendola's 2014 stock will be impacted greatly by whether Edelman returns to the Patriots as an unrestricted free agent.

Sun Jan 19 201418:19Amendola held catch-less in AFCCG
Danny Amendola was held catch-less in the Patriots' AFC Championship game loss to the Broncos.
A ghost in the first half, offseason free-agent bust Amendola made his presence felt in a negative way by dropping a third-quarter pass from Tom Brady over the middle. Amendola signed a five-year, $28.5 million deal with New England last March to "replace" Wes Welker. Instead, he suffered repeated injuries and was convincingly surpassed by Julian Edelman as the Patriots' top receiver. Amendola will return to New England in 2014 -- $2 million of his salary is guaranteed -- but his fantasy value has dimmed considerably.

Sun Jan 12 201400:38Danny Amendola has three-catch night in win
Danny Amendola caught three passes for 77 yards in New England's Divisional Round win over the Colts.
53 of Amendola's yards came on a second-quarter deep ball. As usual, Amendola was running second fiddle to Julian Edelman, but he could be thrust into a much-bigger role if neither Aaron Dobson (foot) nor Kenbrell Thompkins (head) can go for the AFC Championship Game.

Mon Dec 23 201309:09Danny Amendola snaps cut drastically
Danny Amendola played on a season-low 32-of-69 snaps in Sunday's win at Baltimore.
Aaron Dobson returned from a foot injury to play on 54-of-69 snaps, and the Patriots used a lot of two-tight end and fullback formations as they nursed a big lead all day. It led to Amendola catching just two passes on 32 targets. There's a danger that his usage will be similar in a Week 17 home game against the Bills.

Sun Dec 22 201320:40Danny Amendola has two-catch afternoon
Danny Amendola caught two passes for 45 yards in New England's Week 16 win over the Ravens.
Amendola drew only three targets as the Pats dialed up just 26 pass attempts in a game they controlled from the opening whistle. Amendola's role appeared reduced from Week 15 with "X" receiver Aaron Dobson (foot) back from his three-game absence. Amendola won't be a recommended daily-league play in Week 17.

Fri Dec 20 201322:10Danny Amendola listed as probable
Danny Amendola (groin) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Ravens.
Amendola got limited work in during all three practices this week. He should be near 100 percent and popped off for a 10/131/0 line last week -- the first game since Rob Gronkowski's ACL tear. Amendola is a fine WR3 play at Baltimore in fantasy's Super Bowl.

Thu Dec 19 201316:25Danny Amendola (groin) still limited Thursday
Danny Amendola (groin) remained limited in Thursday's practice.
Amendola's health is of zero concern, but the potential return of Aaron Dobson (foot) is. Firmly on the WR2 radar, Amendola would slide into WR3 territory if Dobson can give it a go. Dobson believes he'll suit up.

Sun Dec 15 201317:29Danny Amendola catches 10 passes in loss
Danny Amendola caught 10 passes for 131 yards in New England's Week 15 loss to the Dolphins.
The catches were Amendola's most since Week 1, while the yards were a new season high. It was a vintage performance for the $28.5 million slot man, who made a number of tough catches over the middle of the field, including on a 4th-and-8 on New England's desperation final drive. Amendola nearly made a sensational, game-winning 19-yard touchdown grab just moments later, but the ball got knocked out as he was completing the catch. Locked back into an every-down role as the Pats adjust to the loss of Rob Gronkowski and seemingly every one of their "X" receivers, Amendola will be a high-end WR3 for Week 16.

ESPN Boston expects Danny Amendola and Shane Vereen to be "pivotal" as the Patriots try to replace Rob Gronkowski (torn ACL).

Sun Dec 8 201320:55Amendola catches game-winning TD in Week 14
Danny Amendola caught four passes for 36 yards and one touchdown in Week 14 against the Browns.
Amendola drew eight targets and caught the game-winning one-yard touchdown to cap the comeback win for the Patriots. Amendola had been losing snaps to Julian Edelman in recent weeks, but we'd expect Amendola to be a near full-time player the rest of the season with Rob Gronkowski likely to miss the rest of the year with a torn ACL. Amendola has WR3 appeal next week in Miami.

Thu Dec 5 201317:01Danny Amendola practicing in full for Week 14
Danny Amendola (groin) is practicing in full for Week 14.
Amendola has been losing time to Julian Edelman in the slot, but could get back in the WR3 conversation if Kenbrell Thompkins (hip) can't go. Amendola saw an increase in snaps after Thompkins went down in Week 13.

Sun Dec 1 201317:27Danny Amendola goes 5-54 versus Houston
Danny Amendola caught five passes for 54 yards in New England's Week 13 win over the Texans.
Amendola remained behind Julian Edelman in the slot, and only caught as many passes as he did because "X" receiver Kenbrell Thompkins departed with a hip injury. Tom Brady is just far more comfortable with Edelman as his security blanket right now, finding him for 18/211/2 over the past two weeks. Amendola is 8/71/0 during the same timeframe. Amendola will be a WR4 for the first week of the fantasy playoffs.

Mon Nov 25 201302:00Amendola a non-factor in win over Broncos
Danny Amendola had just three catches for 17 yards in Sunday night's Week 12 win over the Broncos.
Amendola was shut down by slot corner Chris Harris and secured only three of his six targets in the passing game. He had just one catch in the second half and overtime combined. Amendola has now been held under 50 receiving yards in two of his three games and will be a low-end WR2 in Week 13 against the Texans.

Tue Nov 19 201300:59Amendola catches six short passes in loss
Danny Amendola caught six passes for 45 yards in Week 11 at Carolina.
This was the Amendola we saw in St. Louis. He entered the game with a respectable 12.9 YPR average but posted a 7.5 YPR mark Monday night. Amendola did his work out of the slot, sitting down close to the line of scrimmage and picking up minimal gains. His longest grab went for 13 yards. Amendola saw seven targets on the night and should post bigger games down the stretch. He remains a WR2. The Patriots host the Broncos next Sunday night.

Thu Nov 14 201319:58Danny Amendola practicing in full for MNF
Danny Amendola (groin) is practicing in full for Week 11.
Coming off the Patriots' bye week, Amendola should be as healthy as he's been all season. If he can stay healthy - and that's a big if - Amendola should pay major WR2 dividends down the stretch for owners who held onto him.
