Sun Oct 6 201312:25Amendola looking good in pre-game warmups
ESPN's Bob Holtzman reported on Sunday Countdown that Danny Amendola (groin) was "full speed" and "looking good" in pre-game warmups Sunday.
Holtzman's report was corroborated by Field Yates of ESPN Boston. While there is still obvious risk associated with starting Amendola in a fantasy league -- multiple reports indicate he may be on a snap count -- he's going to play and his upside can't be denied. Continue to view Amendola as a boom-or-bust WR3. We'd still start Julian Edelman over him this week.

Sun Oct 6 201310:30Pats beat writer: Bench Danny Amendola
The Boston Globe's Ben Volin recommends for fantasy football owners to sit Danny Amendola (groin, questionable) in Week 5.
"Getting a lot of fantasy questions about Amendola this week," wrote Volin, who we can confirm plays fantasy football himself. "I'd still bench him for now, let him prove that he's healthy first." We believe that's the best approach, too, especially after Jay Glazer reported early Sunday Amendola's snaps would be "limited" against the Bengals. He's a shaky WR3 play.

Sun Oct 6 201309:58Report: Pats to limit Amendola's (groin) reps
FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports the Patriots plan to limit Danny Amendola's (groin) reps against the Bengals on Sunday.
Amendola is going to play Sunday. But the Patriots are 4-0, so they don't need to throw Amendola into the fire as an every-down player. He'll be making his first appearance since tearing the adductor longus tendon in his groin in Week 1. With the news that he'll be limited, we'd drop Amendola down to a WR3 this week.

Sun Oct 6 201309:38Report: Amendola (groin) 'good to go' Sunday
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Danny Amendola (groin) is "good to go" for Sunday's Week 5 game against the Bengals.
Amendola has been looking like a "go" for the past few days. He was listed as questionable on the injury report after getting in three limited practice sessions this week without any setbacks. We'll know Amendola's definite status within two hours, but owners can safely pencil him into lineups as a WR2.

Sat Oct 5 201315:07Danny Amendola (groin) travels with team
Danny Amendola (questionable, groin) traveled with the team to Cincinnati and will be a game-time decision for Week 5 against the Bengals.
Amendola hasn't had any setbacks with his groin injury and the Patriots "remain highly optimistic" about his chances of playing this week. His game status likely won't be known until Sunday morning, but Amendola will be a WR2/FLEX option if he avoids being inactive.

Sat Oct 5 201310:57Pats remain 'highly optimistic' on Amendola
The Boston Herald reports the Patriots "remain highly optimistic" about Danny Amendola's (groin) chances of playing Sunday versus the Bengals.
There was "more optimism" about Amendola playing this week following Friday's practice, and he apparently remains on that track. However, the Patriots are still "highly pessimistic" about Rob Gronkowski's (back, forearm) chances of suiting up. We likely won't know Amendola's game status for sure until Sunday morning, but he can tentatively be penciled in fantasy lineups as a WR2/3.

Fri Oct 4 201316:26Danny Amendola listed 'limited/questionable'
Danny Amendola (questionable, groin) was limited in Patriots practice Friday.
Amendola is tentatively expected to play against the Bengals, although we won't know for sure until Sunday morning's inactives list is released. If Amendola is indeed active, he'll be worth firing up as a WR2/3 in all leagues.

Fri Oct 4 201312:25More optimism on Amendola than Gronkowski
The Boston Herald passes along "more optimism" about Danny Amendola (groin, questionable) playing in Week 5 against the Bengals than Rob Gronkowski (questionable, back).
It's as expected, though we're still not quite convinced the 4-0 Patriots will play Amendola if he shows any lingering signs of injury during pre-game warmups Sunday. Clearly, Amendola will be a full-blown, game-time decision against the Bengals. If he is active, we'd still be awfully hard pressed to bench him without elite alternatives. With Stevan Ridley (thigh/knee) likely not playing and Brandon Bolden (knee) banged up, the Patriots could fire up 40-plus pass attempts, avoiding Cincinnati's stout front.

Thu Oct 3 201316:41Danny Amendola still limited on Thursday
Danny Amendola (groin) remained limited in Thursday's practice.
Thursday hasn't provided any new insight into Amendola's Week 5 status. The slot machine was reportedly "moving well" in Wednesday's practice, but that's not much to go on. As is often the case with the Patriots, we might not know Amendola's status until inactives are announced Sunday morning. Thankfully for fantasy owners, the Pats play at 1ET. Mysterious status and all, Amendola will be worth immediate reinsertion into your lineup if he's a go.

Thu Oct 3 201312:11Collie signing isn't tied to Danny Amendola?
ESPN Boston does not sense that the Austin Collie signing is related to Danny Amendola's (groin) rehab.
Amendola was practicing once again Thursday and reporter Mike Reiss reiterates that the oft-injured playmaker is "closing on a return." Amendola is very much in play for Sunday's game at Cincy. If that's the case, there's a good chance Collie will be inactive.

Wed Oct 2 201312:19Danny Amendola moving well on Wednesday
Danny Amendola (groin) is practicing Wednesday.
Per ESPN Boston, Amendola "seems to be moving well." The Patriots aren't going to give us any clues on Week 5 availability, but most signs are pointing in the right direction. Owners will just have be sure they're able to set lineups Sunday morning. The Patriots will reveal Amendola's official status around 11:30am ET.

Tue Oct 1 201312:15Amendola has 'good chance' to play Week 5?
ESPN Boston believes Danny Amendola (groin) has a "good chance" of playing in Week 5.
Ace reporter Mike Reiss isn't citing sources here. He's likely just going off his own observations and gut feeling, so we wouldn't pen Amendola into fantasy lineups just yet. The good news is that the Patriots face the Bengals in a 1pm ET game on Sunday, so we'll know Amendola's status by noon. If he's active, he projects as an immediate target monster and WR2.

Sun Sep 29 201313:03Patriots 'hopeful' Amendola returns in Week 5
NFL Network's Albert Breer reports the Patriots are "hopeful" Danny Amendola (groin) will return in Week 5 against the Bengals.
Despite one late-week report of optimism, Breer says Amendola "never had a real shot to play at Atlanta" on Sunday night. Both Amendola and Rob Gronkowski (back, arm) didn't even make the team flight for Week 4. We'll know more by next Wednesday, but are pleased the Patriots aren't rushing Amendola back to the point that he'd be susceptible to setbacks. Same goes for Gronk.

Sat Sep 28 201316:26Patriots rule out Amendola (groin) for Week 4
Danny Amendola (questionable, groin) has been ruled out for Sunday night's Week 4 game against the Falcons.
Amendola has been practicing on a limited basis, but will miss his third consecutive game. If he can avoid setbacks, Amendola could return for next week's matchup with the Bengals.

Fri Sep 27 201315:55Danny Amendola upgraded to questionable
Danny Amendola (questionable, groin) was limited in Friday's practice.
The feeling around the Pats is Amendola needs one more week off before resuming his normal duties. Tom Brady will likely be without both Amendola and Rob Gronkowski (back, arm) for one more week. Fire up Julian Edelman on Sunday night at Atlanta. Keep Amendola rostered in anticipation of a Week 5 start.

Thu Sep 26 201315:59Danny Amendola still 'limited' on Thursday
Danny Amendola (groin) remained limited in Thursday's practice.
It's just more injury-report games from the Patriots. Amendola isn't expected to suit up for Sunday night's trip to the Georgia Dome, but perhaps Week 5 is a legitimate possibility.

Wed Sep 25 201317:58Report: Amendola (groin) unlikely for Week 4
The Boston Herald seconds ESPN's Chris Mortensen and reports Danny Amendola (groin) is unlikely to play this week against the Falcons.
"I anticipate being 100 percent shortly," Amendola said Wednesday. Beat writer Karen Guregian "wouldn't completely rule out" Amendola suiting up for Sunday night's game against the Falcons, but suggests he has a "better shot" of playing next week against the Bengals. Amendola was limited in practice Wednesday.

Wed Sep 25 201313:12Mort: Amendola likely to miss Wk 4 at Atlanta
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on SportsCenter Wednesday that Danny Amendola (groin) is unlikely to play Sunday night against Atlanta.
"I'd be really surprised if Danny Amendola came back soon," said Mort. "Don't count on it." Although Amendola is moving better this week, he's battling torn adductor tendons in his groin and won't be rushed back by a 3-0 team. Look for Julian Edelman to continue to pile up targets on Sunday Night Football.

Wed Sep 25 201310:41Danny Amendola is moving better this week
Danny Amendola (groin) is reportedly moving better this week than last.
Amendola was in full pads and working during Wednesday's practice. One of the toughest yet most injury-prone players in the league, he at least has a shot to play in Sunday night's game against the Falcons. Amendola completely tore the adductor longus tendon in his groin during Week 1, but will not need surgery and has no sports hernia.
