Fri Nov 12 201010:16Daniels likely out, Dreessen in for Week 10
The Houston Chronicle considers Owen Daniels (hamstring) "likely" to miss a second straight game.
Coach Gary Kubiak is calling Daniels a game-time decision. Joel Dreessen, who led the Texans in targets (8) and receptions (5) last week, would get the start if Daniels can't go. In which case, Dreessen would be worthy of high-end TE2 consideration.

Sun Nov 7 201018:23Dreessen totals 66 yards in Week 9
Joel Dreessen led the Texans with five receptions for 66 yards against the Chargers in Week 9.
Dreessen also led the team with eight targets while filling in for Owen Daniels. Third-stringer James Casey was heavily involved as well, posting career highs in receptions (4) and yards (41). Dreessen is the better bet next week at Jacksonville if Daniels misses another game.
Sun Oct 3 201019:28Dreesen shows up with big game
Joel Dreessen caught five passes for 73 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Raiders.
Owen Daniels was active but played a limited role due to his hamstring and knee issues. Also, Andre Johnson (ankle) was inactive and Jacoby Jones left early with a leg injury. All that added up to a fluky game for Dreessen, who shouldn't be added in fantasy. He's a former long snapper without much upside.
Wed Jul 28 201010:15Dreesen still the starter for now
Joel Dreesen will run as the Texans' No. 1 tight end in training camp due to Owen Daniels' ACL injury.
Dreesen doesn't have upside, so it will be interesting to see how quickly second-year man James Casey can close on him. If Daniels' recovery doesn't go according to plan, Casey is a name to keep in the back of your mind. He's a much better pass-catcher than blocker.

Thu May 27 201001:41Dreessen had ankle, shoulder surgeries
Texans TE Joel Dreessen is working fully at OTAs after undergoing ankle and shoulder surgeries after last season.
Owen Daniels (ACL surgery) is out, so Dreessen is currently the Texans' first-string tight end. He'll likely continue to run with the starters into training camp, though James Casey and Garrett Graham will get plenty of snaps.
