Mon Nov 26 201201:01John Kuhn totals 66 yards in loss
John Kuhn rushed four times for 17 yards in Green Bay's Week 12 loss to the Giants, adding three catches for 49 yards.
Kuhn's receiving yards gave him the most yards from scrimmage of any Packers runner, but there wasn't a noticeable effort to get him more involved in the offense even though his seven touches were a season high. Alex Green and James Starks have been woefully inadequate as the Packers' backfield duo, but Kuhn isn't the answer to the their run-game issues. He remains off the radar in fantasy leagues.

Fri Nov 16 201218:16John Kuhn probable for Week 11
John Kuhn (hamstring) is officially probable for Week 11 against the Lions.
As is Alex Green (knee). Kuhn was limited all week in practice, but is expected to resume third-down duties against the Lions. He won't be a viable flex option.

Wed Nov 14 201219:51John Kuhn (hamstring) limited on Wednesday
John Kuhn (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
It's never good news when players are limited coming off a bye week, but it's possible the Packers are just being cautious with a player they want to re-install as their third-down back. However, even if Kuhn makes it back for Week 11, he'll be a poor flex option in all formats.

Thu Nov 8 201210:46John Kuhn will take back 3rd-down role
Running backs coach Alex Van Pelt said John Kuhn (hamstring) will step back in as the third-down back once healthy.
Kuhn is the team's best pass protector and can handle himself as a short-yardage option. His return will be bad news for Alex Green, who has lost early-down work to James Starks and will have his passing-down snaps siphoned by Kuhn. Cedric Benson is due back Week 14.

Fri Nov 2 201217:42John Kuhn ruled out for Week 9
John Kuhn (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 9.
It could mean some goal-line carries for James Starks behind an ineffective Alex Green, but Green is still the favorite for short-yardage work. Kuhn is week-to-week.

Thu Nov 1 201213:30John Kuhn held out again on Thursday
John Kuhn (hamstring) was held out of practice again on Thursday.
Don't expect the fullback to play this week. James Starks could get a handful of touches behind lead back Alex Green, who should retain short-yardage duties for another week.

Wed Oct 31 201213:25John Kuhn still sidelined
John Kuhn (hamstring) remained out of Packers practice Wednesday.
With Alex Green continuing to fare poorly as the Packers' feature back, Kuhn could be in for an uptick in carries, but it's looking doubtful it will be in Week 9 after he sat out last Sunday. He's week-to-week.

Fri Oct 26 201214:33John Kuhn won't play Sunday
Packers FB/RB John Kuhn (hamstring) will not play in Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
Kuhn won't be available to vulture any goal-line carries this week. Alex Green has struggled badly, but he's set up for a ton of touches against the Jags' No. 29 run defense.

Wed Oct 24 201213:17John Kuhn misses Wednesday's practice
John Kuhn was held out of Wednesday's practice with a calf injury.
It's a new injury for Kuhn, who hasn't missed a game this season. Although a bigger role for the Packers' sometimes goal-line back hasn't materialized in the absence of Cedric Benson, that could change if Alex Green continues to struggle.

Mon Oct 15 201200:43John Kuhn carries the ball twice
John Kuhn rushed twice for six yards in Green Bay's Week 6 win over the Texans.
There was a possibility Kuhn would become a slightly bigger part of the Packers' game-plan following Cedric Benson's foot injury, but it doesn't appear to be in the cards. He has eight rushes for 23 yards and one touchdown through six games.

Fri Aug 24 201210:11John Kuhn handles the third-down work
Packers FB John Kuhn handled all the third-down duties in Thursday's preseason game against the Bengals.
Cedric Benson isn't a passing-down back and Alex Green is still being eased in off his torn ACL. That left Kuhn, an excellent pass-protector, with the gig. He finished with three carries for 19 yards and no catches. Green eventually projects to share third-down duties with Kuhn.

Mon Jul 16 201217:29Packers FB Kuhn still awaiting clearance
Packers FB John Kuhn is still awaiting clearance from team doctors after injuring his knee in the playoff loss to the Giants.
It was originally reported as a nebulous "MCL injury" back in January. Kuhn still won't discuss the specifics, though it was obviously more serious than a sprain. The potential touchdown vulture expects to be eased into training camp if doctors allow him to participate from the start. "I feel healthy enough," said Kuhn. "But sometimes you feel healthy enough and coaches and doctors want to be cautious. We'll see."

Wed Jan 18 201220:39Kuhn has MCL injury, won't require surgery
Packers FB John Kuhn has been diagnosed with an "MCL injury," and will not require surgery.
It's the best possible news for the Packers' would-be Pro Bowler, and means he should be back to 100 percent health well before the start of training camp. Kuhn signed a three-year, $7.5 million contract in July before leading the Packers in rushing touchdowns this season.

Tue Jan 17 201214:28Packers FB Kuhn (knee) out for Pro Bowl
Packers FB John Kuhn will miss the Pro Bowl after suffering a knee injury in the season-ending loss to the Giants.
"He knows for sure he is not playing. He told me that today," Kuhn's father said. "He has to stay off his knee for a number of weeks." Kuhn also told his father that the injury was not career-threatening, and nothing was torn. The 29-year-old should be back to full health in time for OTAs.

Sun Jan 15 201219:05John Kuhn carted off with knee injury
Packers FB John Kuhn was carted off the field with a knee injury in the third quarter of Sunday's Divisional round game.
Kuhn was in obvious pain on the sideline, and the Packers have deemed his return "questionable." James Starks has experienced a bump in playing time.

Thu Nov 24 201116:08John Kuhn gets a touchdown
John Kuhn rushed five times for five yards with a touchdown and added one 10-yard reception in Thursday's win over the Lions.
Kuhn got some extra work thanks to James Starks leaving early, but we know where his value is. The 250-pounder got two goal-line chances today, converting the second one by running behind B.J. Raji and pushing the pile for a third-quarter touchdown. Kuhn now has six touchdowns in 11 games.

Fri Sep 30 201119:35John Kuhn to receive more carries vs. Denver
Packers coach Mike McCarthy indicated Friday that John Kuhn will see an increase in carries in Week 4 against Denver.
"We'll see how the game goes," McCarthy said. "Our primary rotation will be with James Starks and John Kuhn. And Alex (Green) will get in there at some point." Kuhn has already vultured two one-yard touchdowns, but the Packers have been leaning toward a hot-hand backfield all season. Kuhn has exceeded nine carries once in his career. If Starks starts hot, he's likely to remain the primary ball carrier in this favorable running-game matchup.

Thu Aug 11 201118:47Kuhn to handle third-down work for Packers?
John Kuhn is considered the favorite to replace Brandon Jackson in third-down passing situations to open the season.
We'll see how long it stays that way. James Starks and rookie Alex Green both possess the skill-set to handle third-down duties, but their pass protection remains a work in progress. We suspect Starks will be pushing Kuhn by October at the latest.

Sun Jul 31 201117:03Packers bring back FB John Kuhn
Packers agreed to terms with FB John Kuhn on a three-year contract.
The deal is expected to make Kuhn one of the highest-paid fullbacks in the league. He's not an elite lead-blocker, but he can thank Ryan Grant's injury for the added exposure as a ball carrier last year. Aaron Rodgers made it clear that he wanted Kuhn and James Jones back, and the Packers granted his wish.
