Sun Jul 17 201122:40John Kuhn wants to return to the Packers
Free agent FB/RB John Kuhn told Scout.com's Packer Report that he'd like to re-sign with Green Bay.
The Packers are deeper at running back than they have been in awhile, but they should still be able to find a spot for Kuhn. The 28-year-old is exceptional in pass protection and reliable in short-yardage situations. An ideal No. 4 back, Kuhn also had five special teams tackles in three late-season games.

Mon May 16 201108:48Kuhn a sure bet to be back with the Pack?
The Green Bay Press-Gazette believes free agent John Kuhn is "almost a sure bet" to return.
Kuhn, who has accrued five seasons, is tentatively expected to hit the open market. But as the Packers' short-yardage ace and core special teamer, the Press-Gazette expects him to be a priority. Regardless, Kuhn is a poor bet to match his six touchdowns from a year ago if both Ryan Grant and James Starks stay healthy.

Thu Mar 3 201119:21Kuhn draws lowest tender from Packers
The Packers have extended an original pick restricted free agent tender to FB John Kuhn.
Kuhn was originally undrafted, so the Packers would theoretically receive no compensation if they didn't match an offer. Since Kuhn has accrued five seasons, he's headed to the free market instead. The Packers' actions suggest they will only bring him back at a discounted rate.

Wed Mar 2 201111:39Kuhn hasn't drawn offer from Packers
The Packers have not approached impending free agent FB John Kuhn about a new contract.
Kuhn's agent, Kevin Gold, was refreshingly candid about the situation. "Do I feel he's an NFL running back? No," Gold said. "But he was able to play that role. He was a cult hero ... Teams always like to pay for future performance, not past. Our view is John does so many things, and does them well."

Sat Jan 15 201123:20Kuhn scores twice as Packers rout Atlanta
John Kuhn rushed for five yards and a touchdown on two carries in Saturday's playoff win at Atlanta, and added 14 yards on two catches with another score.
Kuhn got both of his TDs deep in the red zone, scoring on a one-yard plunge in the second quarter and on a quick throw from Aaron Rodgers from seven yards out in the third. It's worth noting for playoff fantasy leaguers that Kuhn appears to be Green Bay's go-to guy in scoring position, despite James Starks' feature-back status. Brandon Jackson is just a third-down back.
Tue Nov 23 201011:46Kuhn still expected to see carries
Packers running backs coach Edgar Bennett still expects John Kuhn to see carries down the stretch despite Dimitri Nance's emergence in Week 11.
"You just add another guy that you can count on as we move forward," Bennett said. "We feel like we have three guys who can jump back there and be productive." While Kuhn could still see some touches, he's likely to focus more on his fullback role going forward. Nance has appeared to pass him in the pecking order for carries and could be used as the goal-line back.

Mon Nov 8 201000:07Kuhn received career-high workload
John Kuhn ran the ball 13 times for 50 yards in the Week 9 win over the Cowboys.
He also added 12 yards on a couple receptions. It was the most extensive action of Kuhn's career, as he had never had double-digit carries before. He's the team's goal-line back but isn't worth owning outside of touchdown-heavy leagues.
Mon Oct 25 201000:16Kuhn has quiet night
John Kuhn picked up just 12 yards on seven carries in the Week 7 win over the Vikings.
You can go ahead and cut him loose if you haven't already. Kuhn hasn't scored since Week 1, and Brandon Jackson was used as the team's goal-line back Sunday night.
Sun Oct 10 201017:15Kuhn stuffed at goal line in loss
John Kuhn rushed three times for 12 yards in Sunday's loss to the Redskins.
Kuhn added two catches for five yards. He got his chance at the goal-line as expected, but did not convert on two chances. Kuhn is only an option for the most desperate of owners in TD-heavy leagues.
Tue Oct 5 201011:09McCarthy: Kuhn won't necessarily be No. 1
Packers coach Mike McCarthy said that John Kuhn won't necessarily become the No. 1 tailback after outperforming Brandon Jackson in Week 4.
"I don't view it as No. 1 and No. 2," McCarthy said. Kuhn still has to play fullback at times, so expect Jackson to continue to start but share the workload evenly with Kuhn. The latter is the better fantasy option right now because he's a scoring threat, but neither are enticing.

Tue Sep 28 201000:29Kuhn runs for 31 yards on six carries
John Kuhn ran six times for 31 yards and added two catches for 20 yards in Monday's Week 3 game against the Bears.
Kuhn had an 18-yard run late in the game, the only big play posted from a Green Bay back all night. Kuhn and Brandon Jackson look to be in a strict committee, with Jackson still the third-down back and Kuhn serving as the bruiser. Kuhn failed to convert on his only run from inside the Bears' five yard line.
Sun Sep 19 201016:11John Kuhn runs for 36 yards in Week 2
Packers FB John Kuhn ran nine times for 36 yards in Week 2.
Brandon Jackson was ineffective carrying the ball for most of the game, so Kuhn saw a bigger role than anticipated. Kuhn could stay heavily involved if Jackson doesn't step up and start breaking some tackles. Jackson's goal-line touchdown appeared to be just a matter of the coaching staff throwing him a bone. Kuhn will normally be the favorite for work inside the opposing five.
Thu Sep 16 201009:04Kuhn the backup for Jackson
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel confirms that John Kuhn will be Brandon Jackson's backup going forward.
The paper adds that Kuhn will be a third-down back, but we're not buying that. Kuhn may stay in on third downs for pass protection, but Jackson is a natural third-down back that will be running routes out of the backfield. Deep leaguers should add Kuhn as he is in line for a fistful of "change of pace" carries and will likely handle goal-line work.

Sun Sep 5 201001:46John Kuhn to be third in line for carries
Packers FB John Kuhn is expected to be third in line for carries in Green Bay this season following Kregg Lumpkin's release.
Green Bay would probably grab a street free agent before employing Kuhn as a double-digit carry-per-game back, but he could get some work if Ryan Grant or Brandon Jackson goes down. Jackson and Grant are the only tailbacks.

Fri Apr 16 201013:42Packers re-sign FB John Kuhn
Packers re-signed restricted free agent FB John Kuhn to a one-year, $1.176 million contract.
Kuhn, 28 before the season, appeared in 14 games last year and scored three all-purpose touchdowns, two as a receiver. He also chipped in seven special teams tackles, though Green Bay's fullback depth may keep him on the bubble.
