The Blazers finalized a buy out of G/F Shawne Williams' contract on Friday, making the 6'9" swingman a free agent.

Williams was owed $3.1 million next year and although he missed the end of last season after undergoing foot surgery, he will be healthy by the time training camp begins and figures to draw some interest once teams figure out their salary cap situations early next week.

The Blazers are reportedly working on a buyout for Shawne Williams, who is owed $3.1 million next season.

The Blazers are setting their sights higher, targeting FAs like Roy Hibbert and Eric Gordon, and would benefit from clearing cap space. Williams will likely draw interest from multiple teams if and when he joins the FA pool.

Williams will be eased into the rotation and his ceiling seems pretty low, considering he's playing with a fractured foot and the constant threat of shin splints. Nevertheless, he's a valuable addition to the rotation now that Damion James (foot surgery) is out indefinitely.
