Fri Nov 2 201216:50Kuroda obtains qualifying offer from Yankees
The Yankees made a one-year, $13.3 million qualifying offer to impending free agent Hiroki Kuroda.
As opposed to Nick Swisher, the Yankees wouldn't mind if Kuroda accepted. There's a chance he might, as the 37-year-old is amenable to a one-year deal and the $13.3 million figure would represent a raise from the $10 million he made in 2012. Players have seven days to accept or a decline a qualifying offer.

Yankees pitching coach Larry Rothschild told Jim Duquette of Sirius XM Radio Friday that there is a "high percentage" Hiroki Kuroda returns to the team if he doesn't go back to Japan.
That's essentially what Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com indicated Thursday. The Yankees are expected to make the right-hander a $13.3 million qualifying offer, and that might be enough to get it done. Kuroda posted a 3.32 ERA while winning 16 games for the Bombers this season.
