Walker (thumb) is not expected to play in Tennessee's preseason opener against the Falcons on Friday, the Titans' official site reports.
Walker is being held out more for precautionary measures than anything else after suffering a laceration that required 12 stitches in practice last Thursday. The veteran tight end practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, so he'd probably be able to give it a go if this was the regular season. His absence should open up more opportunities for offseason acquisition Anthony Fasano and rookie Jalston Fowler to showcase their skills at the tight end position.

Walker (thumb) returned to practice Wednesday but appeared "very limited," according to Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Walker required 12 stitches to shore up a laceration on his left thumb last Thursday, capping his rep count in his first appearance on the practice field Tuesday. As a result, head coach Ken Whisenhunt relayed that Walker likely won't play in Friday's preseason opener in Atlanta, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.

Walker received 12 stitches in his injured thumb Thursday, but team doctors found no fractures in his hand, John Glennon of The Tennessean reports.

Walker suffered a cut on his left hand at Thursday's practice but isn't expected to miss much time, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.
After fitting in some early reps Thursday, Walker left the field and was later seen with a bandage on his left thumb. Such an issue shouldn't affect his preseason availability, let alone his status for Week 1, and his presence should provide comfort to rookie signal caller Marcus Mariota.
Thu Aug 6 201517:49Delanie Walker: (Hand) Leaves Thursday's Practice
Walker left Thursday's practice with a potential left hand injury, John Glennon of The Tennessean reports.
Once drills conclude and initial exams have been taken, the Titans should have a good idea of the extent of Walker's injury. In a receiving corps with of modest options, he appears to be rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota's fail-safe option in the event of certain plays breaking down this season.

Walker had seven catches on 10 targets for 43 yards during Sunday's loss to the Colts. He finishes the season with 63 catches on 106 targets for 890 yards, a team record for most receiving yards by a tight end, ESPN.com reports.
Walker established himself as the most reliable receiving option in Tennessee this year, though that didn't mean a whole lot, as he finished with just four touchdowns. However, if Zach Mettenberger can continue to develop next season, Walker could do the same, though a jump to the upper-tier of fantasy tight ends is fairly unlikely.

Walker (knee) caught 4-of-6 targets for 54 yards in Thursday's 21-13 loss to the Jaguars.
Walker, who was listed as questionable on the final injury report, did not appear to be bothered by his knee. His target total fell somewhat below expectations, given that Charlie Whitehurst attempted 35 passes. One of Walker's targets came in the end zone, and while the tight end did a nice job to get open, Whitehurst misfired on the throw. The Titans face the Colts in Week 17, and Whitehurst will probably get another start, as Zach Mettenberger (shoulder) seems unlikely to play.

Walker (knee) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Jaguars, Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports.
Per Terry McCormick of 247Sports, Walker believes that he will play Thursday, but given the official questionable designation, those planning to roll with the tight end (who caught four passes for 93 yards in Week 15) in their Week 16 lineups will want to verify his status as the Titans' 8:25 ET kickoff approaches.

Walker caught 4-of-5 targets for 93 yards in Sunday's 16-11 loss to the Jets.
It looked like Walker might make one of the best plays of the year, as he nearly scored on a lateral from QB Charlie Whitehurst on the final play of the game. After racing about 30 yards on the play, he was tackled around the 10-yard line though. Despite not scoring, the athletic TE still had a productive game, and will look to keep his solid season rolling Thursday at Jacksonville.

Walker caught four passes for 27 yards in Sunday's loss to the Giants.
Walker was actually targeted 10 times in the game and while the yardage wasn't there in Week 14, the tight end figures to see his share of looks in the Tennessee passing offense down the stretch, with one key wideout, Justin Hunter, now on IR, and another -- Kendall Wright -- still dealing with a hand injury.

Walker (concussion) had five catches on nine targets for a season-high 155 yards Sunday against the Eagles.
Walker suffered a concussion in Week 10 against the Ravens and was held out in Week 11 against the Steelers, but he stormed back with his highest yardage total of the season Sunday. Only wideout Justin Hunter (10) finished with more targets, and Walker could keep the the fine play going, as the Titans will face off against a Texans defense in Week 13 that is allowing the second-most passing yards per game this season.

Walker (concussion) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Eagles, the Tennessean reports.
The report confirms that Walker -- who sat out this past Monday's game against the Steelers -- has passed his final concussion tests and been cleared to return to action, thus making him a fantasy lineup option in a week where there a several key NFL tight ends either out or very iffy. Despite sitting out Week 11's contest, Walker leads the Titans with 512 receiving yards.
