Mon Aug 23 2010 | 22:29 | Derek Anderson not much better than Leinart |
Derek Anderson completed 11-of-19 passes for 105 yards in the Cardinals' second preseason game Monday night. |
Anderson did "spark" the Cards on a field-goal drive immediately after Matt Leinart's second-quarter exit, but it's not like it was a great effort. D.A.'s accuracy woes were especially evident in the red zone, and his deep balls were almost all off target. Cardinals GM Rod Graves would be smart to explore the trade market before it gets too late. Sage Rosenfels would be an ideal acquisition. Kellen Clemens, Tyler Thigpen, Troy Smith, and Charlie Batch might also warrant looks. |
Tue Jun 8 2010 | 11:36 | Derek Anderson struggling with consistency |
Derek Anderson has reportedly been "both impressive and erratic" in practice during Cardinals OTAs. |
Anderson's maddening inconsistency has followed him from Cleveland, as he's looked both good and brutal "often in the same series of plays." D.A. does not appear to be putting pressure on Matt Leinart as training camp looms. |

Thu Apr 8 2010 | 09:42 | Cardinals working on Anderson's mechanics |
Cardinals quarterbacks coach Chris Miller believes Derek Anderson's mechanics slipped over the past couple of years. |
Miller will coach up Anderson's fundamentals in preparation for OTAs, as the quarterback tries to recapture 2007 form. While Anderson isn't a good bet to unseat Matt Leinart this summer, he could be a viable fallback option if Leinart stumbles in-season. |
