Wed Sep 26 201213:16Mohamed Massaquoi won't be active for TNF
Mohamed Massaquoi (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 4 against the Ravens.
In typical Massaquoi fashion, he's followed up his excellent Week 2 effort with a one-catch performance and an inactive. He should be ready for Cleveland's October 7 tilt with the Giants, but remains well off the fantasy radar. Jordan Norwood will be active in his place.

Updating a previous item, the Browns are now holding out hope that Mohamed Massaquoi (hamstring) can play Thursday night.
The short week is already working against Massaquoi, as he was unable to practice on Monday and Tuesday. If he's active versus the Ravens, it seems clear that it will be in a limited capacity.

Tue Sep 25 201209:20Mohamed Massaquoi likely out Week 4
Mohamed Massaquoi (hamstring) is not expected to play in Week 4.

Mon Sep 24 201211:01Mohamed Massaquoi leaves with hammy issue
Mohamed Massaquoi left the Browns' Week 3 loss to the Bills with a hamstring injury.
Massaquoi had one catch for 14 yards before going down in the third quarter. He rode a bike on the sideline in an effort to get back in, but it didn't happen. Massaquoi is set for more testing Monday.

Sun Sep 16 201217:45Massaquoi reels in five balls for 90 yards
Mohamed Massaquoi caught five passes for 90 yards in Week 2.
Massaquoi worked with plenty of open space against the Bengals. He tied for the team lead with seven targets and led the team in receiving. Fantasy owners can expect Week 2 to be one of the best of Massaquoi's season. Leave him on the waiver wire.

Sun Sep 9 201219:15Massaquoi catches three for 46 yards
Mohamed Massaquoi caught three passes for 41 yards in the Browns' Week 1 loss to the Eagles.
The Browns' passing "attack" was absolutely inept, perhaps because Massaquoi led the way with eight targets. Brandon Weeden insisted on trying to hit Massaquoi on short crossing patterns, a formula that will lead to a lot of empty possessions. Fantasy owners can move along with ease.

Fri Aug 17 201209:54Mohamed Massaquoi doesn't play Thursday
Mohamed Massaquoi (concussion) did not play in Thursday's preseason game against the Packers.
Massaquoi warmed up, stretched and caught passes before the game. But he was held out, seemingly as a precaution given his concussion history. Raw rookie Josh Gordon started opposite Greg Little, struggling to two catches for 38 yards.

Tue Aug 14 201209:02Massaquoi (concussion) back at practice
Mohamed Massaquoi (concussion) returned to Browns practice Tuesday.
It's a surprisingly quick return for a player who was concussed in Friday's opener, especially considering Massaquoi's concussion history. As it is, he should now be ready for Thursday's tilt with the Packers, which the Browns are treating as their primary dress rehearsal for the regular season. Massaquoi is having a strong camp, but could still find himself on the roster bubble.

Sun Aug 12 201219:35Shurmur unhappy with Massaquoi's tweets
Browns coach Pat Shurmur indicated that he was not pleased with Mohamed Massaquoi recently writing on Twitter about his concussion.
Massaquoi actually tweeted that he didn't have a concussion, even though he did. Either way, Shurmur wasn't happy. "Yeah, I don't like (tweets)," he said. "That's my policy. I encourage them not to and I think it's important that they don't. I don't think you can totally harness social media. I've come to that realization. But what I can do is encourage and inspire them to be very professional and not talk about Browns business."

Sun Aug 12 201216:10Massaquoi concussed in preseason opener
Browns coach Pat Shurmur confirmed that Mohamed Massaquoi suffered a concussion in Friday night's preseason opener.
Massaquoi has long, documented concussion history, so this one may shut him down for awhile. The Browns will likely turn to Josh Gordon opposite Greg Little.

Fri Aug 10 201222:08Massaquoi leaves with head injury
Mohamed Massaquoi left Friday night's preseason opener with a first-quarter head injury.
It's not good, considering Massaquoi's concussion history. The injury has not been specified, but another concussion could give the Browns incentive to move on from Massaquoi permanently and go forward with Josh Gordon starting opposite Greg Little. We'll have an update on Massaquoi this weekend.

Tue Aug 7 201217:39Massaquoi enjoying best camp of career
Mohamed Massaquoi "continues to enjoy his finest camp in four NFL seasons," according to ESPN Cleveland.
Meanwhile, rookie Josh Gordon is beginning to drag as he battles "camp legs." Although Massaquoi was listed as the starter opposite Greg Little on the first depth chart of camp, he's undraftable in standard-sized leagues. Gordon will begin pushing him for snaps early in the season, if not sooner.

Fri Jul 13 201208:56Massaquoi 'most affected' by Gordon pick
ESPN Cleveland believes Mohamed Massaquoi is the receiver "most affected" by the Browns' selection of Josh Gordon in Thursday's Supplemental Draft.
Beat writer Tony Grossi believes Gordon's arrival ends Massaquoi's days as an "unchallenged starter," and goes as far as to suggest that his roster spot could be in danger. Coach Pat Shurmur has acknowledged 2012 is a make-or-break season for Massaquoi, though football "czar" Mike Holmgren is expecting "a little bit of a breakout year." Ultimately, Gordon will likely prove too raw to force Massaquoi off the roster, but it's also highly unlikely this is the year the former second-round pick finally breaks out.

Fri Jun 8 201209:03Massaquoi extra cautious due to concussions
Mohamed Massaquoi conceded that he's been extra cautious after sustaining at least two serious concussions over the past two seasons.
Team president Mike Holmgren acknowledged that the blow to the head from James Harrison in 2010 and a second concussion last October have taken their toll on Massaquoi. Two weeks after the latter concussion, Massaquoi was again knocked from a game after feeling woozy. Although he's vying with Jerome Simpson and Devin Hester for the offseason hype award, Massaquoi isn't an attractive fantasy flier.

Tue May 15 201211:07Shurmur puts heat on WR Massaquoi
Browns coach Pat Shurmur acknowledges 2012 is a make-or-break season for WR Mohamed Massaquoi.
"It's time for him to show us what we know he can do," Shurmur said. Shurmur has wisely avoided seconding team president Mike Holmgren's prediction that Massaquoi will have "a little bit of a breakout year." The Browns drafted only one receiver, but Massaquoi could still find himself on the roster bubble without a healthy and productive preseason.

Tue May 8 201215:03Browns expecting breakout for Massaquoi
Browns president Mike Holmgren expects WR Mohamed Massaquoi to have "a little bit of a breakout year" in 2012.
The team's brass has been borderline delusional about its wide receivers for awhile, predicting a breakout for the since-released Brian Robiskie last offseason. Massaquoi hasn't been the same player since taking a blow to the head from Steelers LB James Harrison in October of 2010.

Wed May 2 201213:35Browns hope better QB play sparks receivers
Browns coach Pat Shurmur indicated that the team is counting on upgraded quarterback play to spark the team's receiver corps.
This can work if the rookie quarterback is effective immediately, and the Browns seem to think Brandon Weeden will be. "An outstanding quarterback brings synergy to the whole team," Shurmur said. "... If a quarterback that throws the ball accurately, on time, it makes the receivers looks good." The Browns drafted just one receiver -- fourth-round track guy Travis Benjamin.

Sun Jan 15 201210:04Massaquoi's roster spot in danger?
The Cleveland Plain Dealer believes Mohamed Massaquoi could be the odd-man-out if the Browns upgrade their receiver corps this offseason.
Massaquoi could be sent packing even if the Browns fail to find a legitimate complement for Greg Little. Massaquoi saw his numbers tumble for the second straight season in 2011, and has done little to suggest he's anything other than a roster filler since being a second-round pick in 2009. He's off the dynasty-league radar.

Sun Jan 1 201221:07Massaquoi shutdown by Steelers in Week 17
Mohammed Massaquoi caught two passes for 16 yards in Sunday's game against the Steelers.
Massaquoi needs to prove he can stay healthy for a full season before being considered a long-term option at receiver. With just 31 catches for 384 yards in 13 games this year, he could find himself on the roster bubble next summer.

Wed Dec 28 201116:21Massaquoi, Cribbs both limited Wednesday
Mohamed Massaquoi (foot) and Josh Cribbs (groin) were limited in Browns practice Wednesday.
The Browns' injury prone and ineffective No. 2 and 3 wideouts are both expected to be active for Sunday's regular season finale against the Steelers. Even on a team so thin at receiver, Massaquoi isn't likely to be guaranteed a spot on the Browns' 2012 roster.
