Sun Oct 30 201117:29Naanee catches five passes in Week 8
Legedu Naanee caught five passes for 49 yards against the Vikings in Week 8.
Naanee had an ugly drop early, but picked up his production in the fourth quarter with Steve Smith drawing extra attention. While the coaches love Naanee for his willingness to block, he's not a fantasy factor as the Panthers' second receiver.

Tue Oct 4 201117:41Naanee struggling with Panthers
Legedu Naanee has caught just 8-of-24 targets this season, good for 33.3 percent.
Naanee has kept his starting job because he's familiar with Rob Chudzinski's offense, but he's been severely outplayed by No. 3 WR Brandon LaFell, who has caught 75 percent of his targets. LaFell is also averaging 10.1 yards per target compared to a wholly ineffective 3.1 for Naanee. The Panthers will have to reverse these roles in the coming weeks.

Sun Oct 2 201118:26Naanee gets four catches on 11 targets
Legedu Naanee caught four passes for 27 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bears.
Naanee ran as the No. 2 receiver, but caught just four of the 11 passes that came his way. Some of that was due to Cam Newton throwing high again, but more of it is about Naanee not getting open. Naanee has just eight catches for 75 yards through four games.

Thu Sep 22 201116:03Naanee expected to remain a starter
Despite Brandon LaFell's impressive play of late, coach Ron Rivera plans to keep Legedu Naanee in the starting lineup.
LaFell plays in three-wide sets, but he's averaging 30 fewer snaps per game than Naanee. LaFall has caught eight passes for 119 yards and a touchdown compared to Naanee's three receptions for 35 yards. Until LaFell moves up the depth chart, he's going to remain too inconsistent to use as a WR3.

Tue Aug 16 201120:06Naanee running ahead of LaFell
Legedu Naanee is running ahead of Brandon LaFell as the Panthers' No. 2 receiver.
Naanee arrived with an inherent advantage considering his history with OC Rob Chudzinski's playbook. LaFell hasn't been able to make up ground in two weeks. Tight end Greg Olsen will be the No. 2 target in a run-heavy offense, so the second receiver is a poor bet for fantasy value.

Thu Aug 4 201118:18Panthers sign WR Legedu Naanee
Panthers signed WR Legedu Naanee, formerly of the Chargers.
The Chargers let Naanee walk after his February arrest on charges of resisting law enforcement and public intoxication. 28 in September, Naanee has experience as a slot receiver and is familiar with the Panthers' coaching staff, much of which was in San Diego last year. Naanee lacks explosive talent, but has reliable hands and should have a good shot at making the final 53.

Sun Jul 31 201115:38Charger won't bring back Naanee
The San Diego Union-Tribune confirms the Chargers have moved on from free agent WR Legedu Naanee.
Asked if there was any chance Naanee would be brought back, beat writer Kevin Acee responded with the one-word reply: "None." Naanee was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest early this offseason, which likely didn't sit well with the front office. A lingering hamstring injury limited Naanee to just 10 games last season.

Thu May 12 201110:55Legedu Naanee has charges dropped
Free agent WR Legedu Naanee had multiple charges stemming from a February 12 altercation with police dropped on May 2.
The sides reached a plea agreement, though details are unknown. Naanee, 27, was accused of resisting law enforcement and public intoxication. It was during the arrest that Naanee asked police officers if they knew who he was, then threatened to "sue (their) ass." The Chargers did not tender Naanee, meaning he will be an unrestricted free agent after the lockout.

Wed Mar 2 201118:52Bolts don't tender recently arrested Naanee
Chargers did not extend tenders to WR Legedu Naanee, FB Billy Latsko, LS Ryan Neill, LB Darry Beckwith, and S Pat Watkins, making them unrestricted free agents.
Naanee recently was arrested for public intox and resisting, afterwards informing police he was "an NFL player" and was "going to sue your ass." Confirms beat writer Kevin Acee, Naanee's "time in San Diego is finished." Naanee ended 2010 with 23 catches for 371 yards and one touchdown in 10 appearances (nine starts). His market value takes a big hit because of the arrest.

Mon Feb 14 201119:43Chargers WR Naanee arrested on 2 charges
Free agent WR Legedu Naanee was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest Saturday in Indianapolis.
Naanee, 27, crossed into an active crime scene at 3:20AM, and while he was being told to leave exhibited a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on or about his breath or person." Naanee allegedly asked an officer "why he was being such an (expletive)." He "actively began to pull away" as police took him into custody, and continued to resist as he was pepper sprayed. "Do you know who I am?" Naanee asked officers. "I am an NFL player and I'm going to sue your ass."

Sun Jan 2 201121:49Naanee grabs four balls in Week 17 win
Chargers WR Legedu Naanee caught four balls for a team-high 79 yards in the Chargers' Week 17 win at Denver.
Naanee did most of his damage in the second half, and his two consecutive catches set up Ryan Mathews' second touchdown run. Naanee stepped up in 2010 to take a more prominent role in the Chargers offense, but injuries hindered his development. He finishes the year a free agent, but the Chargers should want to re-sign Naanee given his reasonable price tag.
Sun Dec 26 201020:11Naanee leads Chargers with 59 receiving yards
Chargers WR Legedu Naanee led the Chargers with 59 receiving yards on four catches in a Week 16 loss at Cincinnati.
All four of Naanee's receptions moved the chains for the Chargers, and he provided a reliable target for Philip Rivers when the QB looked his way. Once Malcolm Floyd returns from an injured hamstring, Naanee will return to a reserve role. Alas, Naanee shouldn't be on fantasy radars if Floyd returns to play Denver Week 17 in a game with no postseason implications. Even if Floyd rests, Naanee doesn't have the same upside as teammate Vincent Jackson, or even a WR3 like Floyd.
Thu Dec 16 201023:46Naanee invisible in Week 15 victory
Legedu Naanee was held without a catch against the 49ers in Week 15.
Naanee was active, but he was never targeted and had no impact on the game. Kelley Washington (2 catches, 49 yards) essentially played as the second receiver behind Vincent Jackson. Send Naanee back to the waiver wire if you picked him up this week.
Wed Dec 15 201016:07Legedu Naanee practices, probable
Legedu Naanee (hamstring, probable) participated in practice again Wednesday.
Naanee will be available against San Francisco on Thursday night, and depending on Malcom Floyd's (hamstring, questionable) status could even start opposite Vincent Jackson. We'd still be looking elsewhere for WR3 sleepers.

Tue Dec 14 201017:01Naanee practices again on Tuesday
Legedu Naanee (hamstring) practiced again on Tuesday.
It's a good sign that Naanee didn't have a setback after returning to a limited practice Monday. With Vincent Jackson and Malcom Floyd back in the lineup, Naanee won't have a big role even if he does suit up this week.

Tue Dec 14 201009:27Naanee hopes to play Thursday
Legedu Naanee (hamstring) returned to practice Monday and hopes to play Thursday.
He practiced in a limited fashion, but after not practicing at all last week and sitting out Sunday, it's a step in the right direction. With Vincent Jackson and Malcom Floyd both back and looking healthy, Naanee's role on the offense figures to be limited even if he does play.

Mon Dec 13 201019:48Naanee denies involvement in fight
Legedu Naanee issued a statement Monday denying that he was in any way involved in a fight that took place in San Diego following the Chargers' Week 14 win over the Chiefs.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reported earlier Monday that "at least one" Charger was believed to be involved in the fight, which left a 21-year-old man hospitalized with serious head trauma. "I was not involved in nor did I witness a fight or altercation of any kind Sunday night," Naanee said. "Period." We're likely to hear more about this story in the coming days.

Fri Dec 10 201018:31Legedu Naanee listed as doubtful
Legedu Naanee (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Week 14.
Vincent Jackson and Malcom Floyd are expected to be San Diego's starting wideouts on Sunday. After so many setbacks, the Chargers are going to have a hard time counting on Naanee until he proves his hamstring is 100 percent.
Thu Dec 9 201017:02Naanee held out of practice again Thursday
Legedu Naanee (hamstring) was held out of practice again on Thursday.
Vincent Jackson now has a better chance to start opposite Malcom Floyd than Naanee does. If V-Jax can't play, Seyi Ajirotutu and Kelley Washington would be the second and third receivers.

Wed Dec 8 201019:35Legedu Naanee misses practice
Legedu Naanee (hamstring) missed Chargers practice Wednesday.
Along with Vincent Jackson (calf) and Patrick Crayton (arm), Naanee is not expected to play against the Chiefs. The Chargers may have to trot out Seyi Ajirotutu and Kelley Washington as their Nos. 2-3 behind Malcom Floyd.
