Sun Jan 2 201121:28Avant disappoints with just one catch
Jason Avant caught one pass for 21 yards in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys.
Avant played a ton of snaps with DeSean Jackson out and Jeremy Maclin resting most of the game. But he was targeted just four times and never threatened the defense. Avant ends the regular season with a career-high 51 catches but the possession receiver is unlikely to ever have real fantasy value. He's a glue guy, not a playmaker.
Wed Dec 22 201011:52Avant passes concussion tests
Eagles coach Andy Reid said Jason Avant has passed his concussion tests and is ready to go for Week 16.
Avant suffered a slight concussion on the final play of Week 16, but it won't even cost him any practice time. He has a career-high 48 catches so far this season but is much more valuable to the Eagles than he is to fantasy players.

Mon Dec 20 201012:12Avant suffered concussion in wild win
Eagles coach Andy Reid confirmed that Jason Avant suffered a slight concussion during the final play of Sunday's wild win over the Giants.
Avant tested out well Monday, leaving the door open for the possession receiver to play against the Vikings next Sunday night. The sure-handed Avant has a career-high 48 catches so far this season.

Mon Dec 20 201011:03Avant lost consciousness?
Jason Avant indicated that he might have briefly lost consciousness Sunday after delivering the final block to spring DeSean Jackson for his game-winning punt return.
The Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News' Les Bowen referred to Avant as "down and briefly out" and Avant said after the game that he was "knocked out" on the play. It's possible he might have suffered a concussion, but we should know later this week.

Sun Dec 19 201018:16Avant only seeing targets on third downs
Eagles WR Jason Avant caught three passes for 35 yards in a Week 15 win over the Giants.
Avant went 1-of-2 on third down conversion targets, juggling a sure first down early while coming up with an important conversion late. He will continue to get looks on third down, but is too inconsistent to be counted on for weekly production.
Mon Dec 13 201004:11Avant catches all three target in Week 14 win
Eagles WR Jason Avant caught all three targets for just 18 yards in a Week 14 victory at Dallas.
Avant had an important 13-yard reception on 3rd and five on the Eagles' game-tying drive in the third quarter, but was a non-factor otherwise. His production is too inconsistent for him to be trusted in fantasy leagues Week 15 when the Eagles travel to New Jersey to take on the Giants.
Fri Dec 3 201000:05Jason Avant drops another touchdown
Jason Avant was held to just one reception for four yards in Week 13.
For the second time in three weeks, Avant dropped a touchdown, this one the first of back-to-back Eagles' drops in the end zone. Avant's role is too inconsistent for fantasy viability.
Sun Nov 28 201020:56Avant piles up eight catches in loss
Jason Avant caught eight passes for 83 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bears.
Avant played a major role as the Bears refused to get beat over the top. The possession receiver responded with his best game since Week 10 of last season. Avant flashed his trademark stick-em hands, snatching anything within his radius. Still, we wouldn't count on Avant in fantasy. Most weeks, he'll be the fourth option at best.
Mon Nov 22 201002:45Avant catches two balls in Eagles Week 11 win
WR Jason Avant caught two balls for 39 yards on four targets in the Eagles' Week 11 victory over the Giants. Avant also converted a two-point try in the fourth quarter.
If the Eagles hadn't won this game, then Avant would have been better remembered for a second-quarter drop when he was wide open in the back of the end zone. The two-point conversion provided Avant with much-needed redemption, but he shouldn't be counted on in fantasy leagues unless an injury befalls Jeremy Maclin or DeSean Jackson.
Tue Nov 16 201001:21Avant has nice game with 76 yards and TD
Jason Avant had five catches for 76 yards and a touchdown in Monday's Week 10 win over Washington.
His touchdown came from three yards out after Michael Vick had 7+ seconds to scan the field and stick the ball into Avant in the back of the end zone. He caught all five of his targets, and will continue to be a third receiver that Vick can check down to. He's a great on field player, but he's not going to see enough looks to be a consistent fantasy wideout.
Sun Nov 7 201020:18Avant gets two catches
Jason Avant had two catches for 41 yards in Sunday's win over the Colts.
Avant was back to his usual No. 3 role with DeSean Jackson (concussion) healthy. Michael Vick hit him on a couple nice crossing patterns, but there's nothing to see here. Avant is just a possession receiver and emergency outlet for Vick.
Thu Oct 21 201011:58Mornhinweg confident in Avant
Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said he has "great confidence" in Jason Avant, who will be starting in the absence of DeSean Jackson.
Mornhinweg also noted that Avant will continue to work inside, running mainly underneath routes. He's a good all-around receiver for the Eagles but has little upside in fantasy. Jeremy Maclin will run all the deep routes.

Sun Oct 3 201020:32Avant drops game winning TD pass
Jason Avant caught four passes for 31 yards in Sunday's loss to the Redskins.
Avant had both his hands on the potential winning touchdown pass, but let it slip through his fingers to end the game. The possession wide receiver should be left on waivers.
