Sat Jun 25 201108:39Brooks thinks Young ends up in Buffalo
NFL Network's Bucky Brooks believes that Vince Young will ultimately end up in Buffalo.
Young would certainly be a great fit in the Bills' offensive scheme and could potentially flourish under Chan Gailey, but all indications out of Buffalo are that Ryan Fitzpatrick is on firm ground as the team's starting quarterback. Vince would likely need to compete for a starting gig regardless of his landing spot, and at this point he's much more likely to beat out Chad Henne in Miami.

Fri Jun 17 201111:58Report: V.Y. wants 'face time' with Dolphins
Vince Young has reportedly spent time in South Florida this offseason as a way to get "face time" with the Dolphins.
Though the Dolphins are reported to have concerns about Young's attitude, we suspect they'll reconsider once the lockout is lifted. The staff has dropped hints that a mobile QB is on the agenda, and Young would be a good fit in Brian Daboll's run-heavy offense featuring play-fakes and roll-outs.

Thu May 26 201110:38V.Y. had NFL's 4th-best QB rating on 3rd down
Soon to be former Titans QB Vince Young posted the fourth best passer rating on third down in the league last season.
The quarterbacks in front of Young were Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger, and Jon Kitna. Behind V.Y. were Matt Ryan, Drew Brees, Michael Vick, and Philip Rivers in that order. Young played in nine games with eight starts, so it isn't like this is a small sample size. Again, no one doubts Young's talent. It's his leadership ability or lack thereof that may keep his market soft.

Fri May 20 201109:37Report: Dolphins not interested in V. Young
ESPN's Chris Mortensen believes the Dolphins have "dismissed" the idea of going after Vince Young as competition for Chad Henne.
Early-offseason word out of Miami suggested the Dolphins were looking for a more mobile QB to challenge Henne. The front office has discussed Young, but is now ready to move in a different direction. Carson Palmer-to-Miami is a pipe dream, so they'll have to settle for less appealing option such as Kyle Orton or Donovan McNabb.

Fri May 13 201112:08Vikes aim lower in veteran QB search
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune seconds a report that the Vikings have no interest in Vince Young.
Young wants his own starting job, not a mentoring opportunity for Christian Ponder. Beat writer Judd Zulgad believes bringing in Donovan McNabb "would have the potential to backfire for the same reason." The Vikes will aim lower in their search for a veteran quarterback.

Thu May 12 201118:20Report: Vikes haven't even discussed V. Young
According to NFL Network's Steve Wyche, the Vikings have not even held internal discussions about the possibility of acquiring Vince Young this offseason.

Thu May 12 201112:25'Real surprise' if Redskins get Vince Young?
The Washington Post's Mike Jones believes it "would be a real surprise" if Vince Young were to land with the Redskins this offseason.
Young is a magnificent schematic fit -- he especially flourished under former Mike Shanahan aide Mike Heimerdinger in Tennessee -- but Jones questions V.Y.'s leadership ability. Jones believes that the Redskins' "future starter appears to be John Beck." To that we say, at least it's not Rex Grossman.

Tue May 10 201122:13Fisher: Vince Young can still win in the NFL
Ex-Titans coach Jeff Fisher believes Vince Young can still win as a starting quarterback in the NFL.
"Vince has won a lot of games; he's led teams to the playoffs before," Fisher said. "I believe he can. It's just a matter of him finding a place that suits him and be in the right place and work hard. But he certainly has that ability." Fisher is right. It's hard to argue that Young can't win at this level. The Titans have posted a 30-17 (.638) record with V.Y. under center the past five years versus 15-18 (.454) without him.

Thu Apr 21 201119:38Munchak: VY is gone, nothing will change that
Coach Mike Munchak emphatically ruled out the possibility that fences could be mended with Vince Young in Tennessee.
"That was a decision made months ago and nothing that is going to happen personnel-wise, or how the draft goes, is going to change that," Munchak said. "It wasn't just a Jeff Fisher decision." Chris Johnson and Stephen Tulloch have both expressed a disbelief that the Titans would dump Young. It's a good sign that Munchak is providing strong leadership even if the decision won't be popular in certain sections of the locker room.

Thu Apr 14 201119:04CJ2K: Young's exit not 'etched in stone'
Chris Johnson believes it's still not "etched in stone" that the Titans will release Vince Young once the CBA is settled.
"A lot of things have changed in the last few months, so maybe Vince will be back," said Johnson. "Now that Coach Fisher is gone, everything is up in the air. We'll just see what happens." Young has made similar statements himself, but there's no way the Titans are bringing him back at $12.75 million (including a $4.25 million bonus). That bridge has been burnt to a cinder.

Fri Mar 18 201110:18Report: V.Y. not considered a viable upgrade
After speaking with NFL scouts and coaches, the National Football Post's Matt Bowen believes Vince Young isn't viewed as a viable upgrade "in the current landscape of the QB position in the league."
We all know the rap on V.Y. by now: He's not a leader, doesn't handle handle adversity well, and lacks commitment and work ethic. It's understandable that NFL teams will be reluctant to hand Young the offensive reins, but his talent and career 26-13 record are tempting enough to grant him a chance to battle for a job in training camp.

Tue Mar 8 201108:53Vince Young still wants to play for Titans
Vince Young isn't giving up hope that the Titans might still take him back.
"I would love to stay in Nashville," he said. "I'm a big fan of (new Titans head coach Mike) Munchak. I always call him Big Hall of Famer in the hallways and things like that." Is it just us, or does Young's mind seem to function like a toddler at times? The Titans might consider keeping V.Y. if wouldn't cost them $12.75 million, including a $4.25 million roster bonus. Confirms the Tennessean,"that's not going to happen."

Mon Feb 28 201114:23Titans GM: We're getting inquiries about V.Y.
Titans GM Mike Reinfeldt revealed at the Scouting Combine that he's received some interest in Vince Young.
"We have had some discussions. But nothing is imminent with him," Rienfeldt said. "There is some (interest), but it is hard." It's going to be nearly impossible for the Titans to trade Young because he's due a $4.25M roster bonus on the 10th day of the new league year, and everyone knows it. Other teams will wait for Young to be released, and pursue him as a free agent.

Tue Feb 8 201113:03Titans still parting with V.Y. under Munchak
Asked Monday if the Titans' stance on Vince Young has changed, new coach Mike Munchak reiterated that V.Y. is no longer part of the team's plans.
"I think Vince, obviously, has already been dealt with, and I'd probably leave it at that," said Munchak. "I think we're going to find someone, hopefully, that fits the personnel we have." The Titans are still hoping to get a late-round pick for Young, but there are too many factors working against them for that to happen. He's likely to be released outright this spring.

Sun Jan 30 201111:44Titans will look to trade, not release, Young
Adam Schefter reported on NFL Sunday Countdown that the Titans are expected to try and trade Vince Young this offseason rather than release him.
His $4.25 million roster bonus apparently isn't coming due on March 10 as originally thought. Instead, it is now believed to be due 10 days after the start of the new league year, which will not be determined until a new collective bargaining agreement is finalized. That will buy the Titans time to gauge interest in Young around the league, and give them a 10-day window to work out a trade once a new CBA is agreed to. Due an $8.5 million base salary in 2011, he will not be easy to move.

Fri Jan 28 201118:08Report: Titans likely to release Vince Young
According to ESPN's John Clayton, Vince Young is more likely to be released than traded this offseason.
The Titans are still saying publicly that Young won't be on the roster, and Clayton confirms that "Everybody on the coaching staff wanted Vince Young gone (last year)." Young is also due $13 million in 2011, a figure other teams wouldn't be willing to add to their payroll. The Vikings have been most heavily linked to V.Y. after hiring his old QBs coach, Craig Johnson.
Fri Jan 28 201112:24GM confirms Titans will trade or release V.Y.
Titans GM Mike Reinfeldt confirmed at Friday's press conference that he plans to trade or release Vince Young.
The bridges are burned, and not even owner Bud Adams can save Young in Tennessee at this point. According to Terry McCormick's TitanInsider, two undisclosed teams have joined the Vikings as potential destinations for V.Y. The Titans' next coach should have a say in whether the team targets a veteran or a first-round rookie as the team's 2011 quarterback.
Fri Jan 28 201108:37Fisher's firing won't save Vince Young
The Nashville Tennessean seconds an ESPN report that Jeff Fisher's exit will not save Vince Young's future with the Titans.
"Forget about it," says beat writer Jim Wyatt. Young's problems in Tennessee weren't limited to Fisher. According to NFL Network's Michael Lombardi, Titans GM Mike Reinfeldt is convinced that he cannot win with Young due to his "lack of leadership, work ethic and commitment to the team."

Thu Jan 27 201119:02Report: Titans still plan to dump Vince Young
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Titans still plan to trade or release Vince Young following Jeff Fisher's exit as head coach.
Interesting. The Titans' front office had clearly soured on V.Y. by the end of the season, but owner Bud Adams remained a staunch supporter. This news suggests the fissure between Fisher and Adams runs deeper, and perhaps that Fisher had seen the writing on the wall for weeks. Young's trade value is in the tank, so it remains a good possibility that he'll end up being released.

Tue Jan 25 201111:33Vikes likely to go after QB in draft?
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune's Judd Zulgad thinks it's more likely that the Vikings target a quarterback in the draft rather than go after someone like Vince Young.
Zulgad is basing his opinion on comments that coach Leslie Frazier has made. It's possible, but maybe not likely, that they could acquire Young and still target a quarterback in the first few rounds of the draft. Young's name has been heavily linked with the Vikings since Titans owner Bud Adams announced earlier this month that the quarterback would not be back in Tennessee next season.
