Jeff Reed will sign his franchise tender soon, a league source tells Mike Florio of Profootballtalk.com.

It's interesting to note that Reed has had some minor off-field issues in recently, including disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Still, the Steelers clearly didn't deem the incidents serious because they gave Reed the franchise tag. He won't get the long-term deal he wants, but he'll make $2.814 million in 2010.
