Sun Oct 9 201119:47Daniel Fells leads way with three catches
Daniel Fells caught three passes for 47 yards in Sunday's loss to the Chargers.
The majority of Fells' yardage came on a 31-yard completion with just seconds left on the clock. Fells has just 11 catches through five games as the Broncos head into their bye.

Tue Sep 13 201102:37Fells sees six targets in Week 1 loss
Daniel Fells caught three passes for 32 yards on six targets in Week 1 against the Raiders.
Fells is a below-average as both a blocker and receiver, but he appears to be a favorite target for Kyle Orton. Still, he won't get enough looks in John Fox's offense to have any fantasy value.

Tue Aug 9 201110:16Fells listed as the starting tight end
Daniel Fells is listed as the No. 1 tight end on Denver's initial depth chart.
It speaks to how raw the Broncos are at tight end. Fells is slow as a receiver and is not a quality blocker, but he's ahead of Richard Quinn and Dan Gronkowski. He won't play every down and isn't a fantasy option in John Fox's run-first offense.

Sun Jul 31 201117:21Broncos sign TE Daniel Fells
Broncos agreed to terms with TE Daniel Fells on a one-year contract.
Denver's tight end picture is now crowded, which is bad news for Dan Gronkowski and possibly even reputed blocking specialist Richard Quinn. Fells is expected to get the first shot at the starting job, but he offers little blocking and even less after-the-catch burst. He won't be a fantasy option with the Broncos.

Thu Jul 28 201118:01Fells to meet with Broncos on Friday
Free agent TE Daniel Fells will visit with the Broncos Friday.
If Fells doesn't leave Denver with a deal, he'll continue on to Tennessee. The Seahawks and Rams are also reportedly showing interest, but this might just be a case of an agent drumming up buzz. Fells is a below-average NFL tight end.

Wed Jul 27 201123:44Titans showing interest in Daniel Fells
The Titans are showing interest in free agent TE Daniel Fells.
Tennessee is reportedly one of multiple teams in the mix. Based on Fells' 2010 performance, we're surprised anyone would want him. He's looked awfully slow and mistake prone with the football in his hands. In Tennessee, Fells would compete for a roster spot behind Jared Cook and Craig Stevens.

Mon May 2 201123:04Daniel Fells not expected back with Rams
Free agent TE Daniel Fells is not expected back with St. Louis after the Rams drafted Lance Kendricks with the No. 47 overall pick.
The Rams made a half-hearted attempt to retain Fells with an "original pick" tender in early March. Most likely, they'll rescind it once the lockout ends. Kendricks is a far more talented player, and does the same things Fells can.

Wed Mar 2 201115:58Rams tender Fells as restricted free agent
Rams extended TE Daniel Fells an original pick, restricted free agent tender.
Fells has enough accrued seasons to ultimately be an unrestricted free agent. He offers nothing as a blocker and tends to do more harm than good as a pass catcher, so we're still miffed as to why Fells is valued by anyone around the league. The 27-year-old finished 2010 with 41 catches for 391 yards and two touchdowns, averaging a paltry 9.54 yards per reception.

Sun Oct 31 201016:56Fells reaches paydirt
Daniel Fells caught four passes for 35 yards and a touchdown in the Week 8 win over the Panthers.
Sam Bradford hit Fells for a 23-yard catch-and-run score on a third-and-long in the fourth quarter. It's his second score of the year, but Fells' fantasy value is non-existent, as the Rams also play Michael Hoomanawanui and Billy Bajema a lot and don't throw to any of them consistently.
Sun Sep 26 201020:02Fells scores TD, snags three passes in win
Daniel Fells caught three passes for 22 yards and a touchdown in the Rams' Week 3 win over the Redskins.
Fells helped the Rams to a quick 14-0 lead when he snagged a three-yard jump pass from QB Sam Bradford early in the first quarter. He should gain fantasy value as the rookie signal-caller continues to settle in.
Thu Sep 23 201018:00Daniel Fells limited on Thursday
Rams TE Daniel Fells (knee) was limited in Thursday's practice.
Fells sustained the injury on a Week 2 circus catch but later returned to the game. He should be fine to start for the Rams this week, but fantasy leaguers shouldn't have him anywhere near their lineup.
Sun Sep 19 201016:25Rams TE Fells pulled Sunday with leg injury
Daniel Fells was pulled Sunday with an apparent leg injury.
Fells made a circus catch and rumbled for a 36-yard gain before falling awkwardly out of bounds just before the goalline. He walked off the field under his own power but could need to take a few quarters off, if not the entire game.
Mon Aug 30 201011:35Fells has missed time with a leg injury
Rams TE Daniel Fells has missed time of late with a leg injury.
Coach Steve Spagnuolo described his tight end competition as "steady," but Michael Hoomanawanui may have moved ahead after he broke out with Fells sidelined last week. We'd rather carry Hoomanawanui in deep redraft formats and Dynasty formats.

Sun Jul 25 201009:16Fells set for a breakout in St. Louis?
Rams beat writer Jim Thomas believes that TE Daniel Fells has a chance for a breakout season as a pass-catcher.
Fells has flashed some skills as a H-back type of receiving tight end, but we're not sure that the word "breakout" should really be associated with him. There's just not enough talent here. It's worth noting that Thomas says Fells and blocker Billy Bajema are locked in as the Rams' top tight ends according to Thomas, which leaves fifth-round pick Michael Hoomanawanui out in the cold.

Thu May 27 201006:50Daniel Fells (knee) not working at OTAs
Rams TE Daniel Fells has been unable to practice at OTAs due to a knee injury suffered late last season.
Fells suffered a sprained ligament and thighbone fracture above his right knee in December, an injury we're guessing required surgery. Meanwhile, rookie Michael Hoomanawanui has shown better hands than expected. The fifth-round pick can block, which may earn him a chance to start on Opening Day.
