Wed Jul 18 201214:46Andre Roberts to open season as a starter?
Andre Roberts is expected to open the season as the Cardinals' No. 2 receiver opposite Larry Fitzgerald.
It's a position Roberts held for all of last season, and he managed just 51 catches for 586 yards and two TDs -- poorer production than slot guy Early Doucet. The coaching staff reportedly believes Roberts' underwhelming numbers were due mostly to erratic quarterback play, and not his own set of skills. Either way, don't expect much fantasy value at this position aside from Fitzgerald.

Mon Jul 2 201211:37Cardinals like Roberts in the slot
The Cardinals believe Andre Roberts is ideally suited to play the slot position.
Nothing is set in stone yet, but we'd expect first-rounder Michael Floyd to start opposite Larry Fitzgerald out wide. Roberts can play that spot as well while also competing with Early Doucet for snaps in the slot. The receiver rotation will shake out in training camp.

Tue Jun 19 201213:48Roberts to started ahead of Floyd in Arizona?
Darren Urban of the Cardinals official website projects Andre Roberts to start opposite of Larry Fitzgerald this season.
Early post-draft expectations had first-rounder Michael Floyd as the starter, but coach Ken Whisenhunt has made it clear that nothing will be handed to the rookie. According to Urban, the coaching staff has an increased "level of confidence" in Roberts after his improved play down the stretch last season.

Wed May 2 201208:58Andre Roberts to be used in the slot more
Andre Roberts is expected to be used in the slot more often following the drafting of Michael Floyd.
Kevin Kolb expects Roberts to "thrive" in the slot. "I think he's a special player," added Kolb. Missing the extra gear that most NFL starters possess, Roberts has always been more ideally suited for the slot. He'll vie with Floyd and Early Doucet for snaps in two- and three-wide sets.

Fri Apr 27 201208:58Michael Floyd won't be guaranteed starter
Coach Ken Whisenhunt suggested that Michael Floyd will have to beat out Andre Roberts and Early Doucet to start opposite Larry Fitzgerald.
"Michael Floyd hasn't done one thing in this league as a player," said Whiz, who has a penchant for making rookies prove themselves. Roberts may open the season as the starter, but it won't be long before Floyd sends him to the No. 4 role. Doucet is the slot receiver.

Sun Jan 1 201220:06Andre Roberts held to 24 yards in finale
Andre Roberts caught four passes for 24 yards on eight targets against the Seahawks in Week 17.
Though Roberts averaged a respectable 50.3 yards per over the final nine games, he was held under 25 yards in three of those games while facing soft coverage opposite Larry Fitzgerald. The 2010 third-rounder finished the season with a 51/586/2 line as Arizona's No. 2 receiver. He's no more than a late-round flier for 2012 drafts.

Sat Dec 24 201117:35Andre Roberts totals 75 yards in Week 16
Andre Roberts hauled in six passes for 75 yards against the Bengals in Week 16.
Roberts' 10 targets were second only to Larry Fitzgerald's 11. Though he's averaging 63.5 yards over the past month, Roberts hasn't quite reached WR3 territory in his second season.

Andre Roberts caught six passes for 60 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's game against the Browns.
Roberts is used primarily as the Cardinals slot receiver and has a touchdown in consecutive weeks, but is hardly an emerging talent. In John Skelton's last four appearances as quarterback, he's averaging just 3.5 receptions and 44 yards.

Fri Dec 9 201108:53Andre Roberts' role continually expanding
Cardinals OC Mike Miller can envision Andre Roberts' role "continually" expanding.
During a disappointing first half of the season, Arizona stayed with Roberts as the starter opposite Larry Fitzgerald due in large part to his blocking ability. He's finally caught on as a receiving threat, totaling 20 catches for 286 yards in the past five games. While he's not yet a fantasy factor in redraft leagues, Roberts should remain the starter in 2012.

Sun Nov 27 201117:11Andre Roberts makes two catches in win
Andre Roberts caught two passes for 14 yards in Sunday's win over the Rams.
Roberts was targeted five times, but saw a woefully inaccurate John Skelton sail most of them over his head. Roberts has actually posed better numbers with Skelton under center than Kevin Kolb, but won't be worthy of WR3 consideration in Week 13 against the Cowboys no matter who's at quarterback for Arizona.

Sun Nov 13 201118:19Andre Roberts catches four balls for 55 yards
Cardinals WR Andre Roberts had four receptions for 55 yards and one carry for 12 yards in the Cardinals' Week 10 win over the Eagles.
That makes two nearly identical stat lines in a row, but with John Skelton an inconsistent signal-caller at best we're not overly excited about his future. Early Doucet has outperformed him for most of the year, and the two are likely to cancel each other out for fantasy purposes.

Sun Oct 9 201118:25Andre Roberts catches three balls
Andre Roberts caught three passes for 36 yards in Sunday's loss to the Vikings.
Roberts was targeted six times as the primary wide receiver opposite Larry Fitzgerald. However, Kevin Kolb clearly prefers slot-man Early Doucet. With just 12 catches for 125 yards through five games, Roberts is off the fantasy radar.

Fri Oct 7 201109:04Andre Roberts playing full-time snaps
Cardinals WR Andre Roberts played 63 snaps in Week 5.
Despite the high snap count, Roberts wasn't targeted on one of Kevin Kolb's 30 pass attempts. He has averaged just 22.7 yards per week while the past three games while being outproduced by Early Doucet.

Sun Oct 2 201120:29Andre Roberts held without a catch
Andre Roberts was held without a catch or target in Arizona's Week 4 loss to the Giants.
Roberts has been a disappointment in his sophomore season, catching just nine passes in the first three games before today's dud. He's not worth owning in any format.

Sun Sep 25 201120:09Andre Roberts continues 2nd-year struggles
Cardinals WR Andre Roberts managed four catches for 38 yards in the team's Week 3 loss to the Seahawks.
Despite playing far more snaps, Roberts continues to be outproduced by Early Doucet on a weekly basis. The Cardinals may have to think about dropping Roberts out of the base offense. He's not getting open enough, or making enough plays.

Sun Sep 11 201120:25Andre Roberts gets two catches in Week 1
Andre Roberts caught two passes for 21 yards in Sunday's win over the Panthers.
Roberts was the clear No. 2 receiver, but saw just four targets as Kevin Kolb spread the ball around. Outside of Larry Fitzgerald, no Cardinals' receiver is going to be a consistent bet for production. Slot man Early Doucet has more gamebreaking ability than Roberts anyway.

Tue Sep 6 201115:28Andre Roberts holds off Doucet for No. 2 job
Andre Roberts will open the season as the starter opposite Larry Fitzgerald.
Roberts managed to hold off Early Doucet after entering camp penciled in as the starter. Coach Ken Whisenhunt has hinted at a rotation between the two, however, which will hurt Roberts' chances for a breakout season.

Thu Aug 25 201119:54Roberts not likely to put up big numbers
Beat writer Kent Somers suspects Andre Roberts won't put up big numbers this year even if he holds off Early Doucet for the second receiver job.
Roberts is expected to be moved inside to the slot in three-wide sets, but there's been talk of a rotation opposite Larry Fitzgerald. Somers believes there are just too many mouths to feed in the passing game now that Todd Heap is on board. Roberts may be a year away from a true breakout.

Tue Aug 16 201112:06Roberts to start, but expected to rotate
Although Andre Roberts is expected to start opposite Larry Fitzgerald, the No. 2 receiver role could change within a game.
As beat writer Kent Somers notes, the Cardinals are content with filling the job by committee. Roberts is the starter, but there will be certain packages for Early Doucet, Chansi Stuckey and even Stephen Williams. It's a position that is unlikely to sustain consistent fantasy production.
