Tue Jul 13 201010:53Deji Karim to be Jones-Drew's complement?
Jaguars.com suggests that rookie Deji Karim could be used to "keep (Maurice) Jones-Drew fresh" in a role off the bench.
Karim "could turn out to be one of the sleepers of this year's draft," writes Vic Ketchman. The Jaguars' website is obviously going to talk up its own players, but Jacksonville lacked an explosive, playmaking complement for MJD last year with Rashad Jennings in the backup role. Karim is talented enough to push Jennings down the depth chart in training camp.

Thu May 20 201017:26Jaguars have a late-round gem in Karim
According to Jaguars.com's Vic Ketchman, sixth-round RB Deji Karim is showing flashes that that he could be a "home-run hitting back that can take some of the big-play burden off Maurice Jones-Drew."
Karim, a freakish athlete with 4.37 speed and a 43" vertical, dropped several jaws in Thursday's practice with moves that drew video game comparisons. "Deji is extremely explosive and quick," said Dirk Koetter. "He's already demonstrated that he has another gear." Rashad Jennings if a fine backup, but Karim has the talent to blow past him this summer.

Mon Apr 26 201008:50Karim can fill the third-down back role?
Jaguars GM Gene Smith thinks sixth-round pick RB Deji Karim can be a third-down specialist and kickoff returner.
Maurice Jones-Drew was an absolute workhorse last season, almost never coming off the field for a breather en route to 365 touches. Jones-Drew is an excellent receiver and we doubt Karim will be able to knock MJD off the field on third downs. He'll more likely battle Rashad Jennings for a small role.
