Sat Aug 9 2014 | 13:34 | Decker didn't practice Saturday due to injured quadriceps |
Decker didn't practice Saturday due to an injured quadriceps, Seth Walder of the New York Daily News reports. |
Decker's debut as a Jet on Thursday was subdued, as he hauled in both targets for just 12 yards. The exchange of Peyton Manning for the combo of Mike Vick and Geno Smith was supposed to be alleviated by featuring as a No. 1 wide receiver, but a third consecutive 1,000 yard, double-digit touchdown campaign may be difficult to expect. Any injuries would hinder Decker's chances of the three-peat. |

Wed Mar 12 2014 | 23:27 | Jets ink Eric Decker to be new No. 1 receiver |
Jets signed WR Eric Decker, formerly of the Broncos. |
Decker, 27, set career highs in catches (87) and receiving yards (1,288 yards) with Denver last season, scoring 11 touchdowns. He caught a lot of heat during the free-agent period after experiencing a colder-than-expected market, but is a much-needed addition to the Jets' otherwise barren receiver corps. Decker is a physical, largely sure-handed wideout who moves the chains and can beat defensive backs deep. Unfortunately, he's downgrading quarterbacks in spectacular fashion going from Peyton Manning to Geno Smith, and will be the focus of defensive attention in New York after serving as Manning's No. 3 or 4 option. He'd do well to get back near 1,000 yards with the Jets. Decker will be a borderline WR3 in fantasy this season. |

Wed Mar 12 2014 | 21:12 | Report: Jets 'making push' to sign WR Decker |
ESPN New York's Rich Cimini reports the Jets are "making a push" to sign free agent Eric Decker during his Wednesday visit. |
The Jets may feel some urgency to make a splash after the division-rival Patriots scooped up Darrelle Revis. Decker is currently in New Jersey having dinner with Jets executives. Decker has not generated the free-agent market most anticipated, but we still expect him to sign for something in the $7-8 million per-year range. Anything less would be a coup by second-year GM John Idzik. |

Wed Mar 12 2014 | 07:31 | Eric Decker visiting WR-needy Jets Wednesday |
Free agent Eric Decker is visiting the Jets Wednesday. |
Decker made the flight from Denver to New Jersey on Tuesday night. The top wideout available is meeting with the team that has the biggest need, as the Jets currently feature Jeremy Kerley, David Nelson and Stephen Hill as their top-three receivers. Decker's stats have been inflated by Peyton Manning over the last two years and he may not be a "true" No. 1 wideout, but he'd be a massive upgrade for Geno Smith. |

Tue Mar 11 2014 | 18:41 | All quiet on Eric Decker front for now |
NFL Network suggests the Colts, Browns, Texans and Lions as possible landing spots for free agent Eric Decker. |
It's been eerily quiet on the Decker front through three hours of free agency as teams have prioritized help on the offensive and defensive lines. It doesn't mean Decker won't get paid. He remains the No. 1 wideout available, and all four of these teams are desperate for No. 2 options. Decker's market will heat up. |

Wed Mar 5 2014 | 09:30 | Eric Decker likely to get $8-$9M per season |
The Denver Post expects free agent Eric Decker to command $8-$9 million annually. |
It's a realistic number. The Post cites the annual average salaries of Dwayne Bowe ($11.2M), Greg Jennings ($9M) and Mike Williams ($7.2M), and the NFL's salary cap is increasing by $10 million. So even if Decker's 172/2352/24 line over the last two seasons has been inflated by Peyton Manning, he's still going to get paid. The Broncos are not expected to pony up the cash as they look to 2015, when Demaryius Thomas and Julius Thomas need to get locked up. |

Fri Feb 21 2014 | 21:32 | Broncos confirm Decker, Moreno to test market |
Broncos GM John Elway confirmed at the Combine he expects free agents Eric Decker and Knowshon Moreno to test the open market. |
"I think they have to hit the market, especially when you look at where we are and what we have coming up," Elway said. Decker is expected to command at least $8 million per season and the Broncos don't have the cap space to afford him with Julius Thomas, Demaryius Thomas, and Wes Welker all up for free agency after the 2014 season. Denver is also expected to let free agent LB Wesley Woodyard test the open market. |

Sun Feb 16 2014 | 12:57 | Eric Decker to command $10 million a year? |
The Boston Herald is the second media outlet this week to project free agent Eric Decker's forthcoming contract to be in the $10 million-per-year range. |
Early last week, ESPN New York set the bar at "at least" $9 million a year. "Eric Decker might land $10 million per season," writes Herald reporter Jeff Howe. Howe believes Hakeem Nicks may only command $3 million to $4 million annually. It seems Howe is guessing, but informed guesses are notable. All signs point to Decker being paid like a true No. 1 wideout this offseason. |

Mon Feb 10 2014 | 14:32 | Eric Decker could command $9 million per year |
ESPN New York expects free agent Eric Decker to command "No. 1" receiver-type money, or "at least" $9 million per year. |
It's a pretty optimistic projection in a year where the incoming collegiate receiver group is considered incredibly deep. We'll say this for Decker: Greg Jennings landed a deal worth $9 million annually from the Vikings last offseason, and Decker is worth more than him. Still, if Decker is going to command that kind of money, receiver-needy teams would be savvy to exhaust all possible alternatives. He's a strong No. 2 wideout and not a coverage tilter. |

Sun Feb 9 2014 | 13:54 | Eric Decker not sure about his future |
Free agent Eric Decker acknowledged he's uncertain whether the Broncos will re-sign him. |
"I would love to come back," said Decker. "I don't know my future, either." Decker turns 27 in March, and multiple NFL insiders have reported the Broncos will let him reach the open market, where he's likely to receive several big-time contract offers. The franchise tag is not being discussed as a reasonable means for Denver to keep Decker. We expect him to play elsewhere in 2014. |

Tue Feb 4 2014 | 20:48 | Decker would 'love' to re-sign with Broncos |
Free agent Eric Decker would "love" to re-sign with the Broncos, but admits the situation is out of his control. |
It's the diplomatic tone all smart free agents strike. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that Denver plans to let Decker test the open market, meaning he's all but certain to be playing elsewhere next season. The "win-now" Broncos simply don't have the cap space to lock up Decker with Demaryius and Julius Thomas both entering contract years. |

Sun Feb 2 2014 | 22:21 | Eric Decker held to 1 catch for 6 yards |
Eric Decker was held to one catch for six yards on five targets in Denver's Super Bowl loss to Seattle. |
Predictably erased by Richard Sherman, Decker was catch-less at the half. He finally got on the board with an innocuous six-yard reception on Denver's initial third-quarter drive, but had a fourth-quarter drop. It was a thoroughly ineffective end to Decker's contract year, but he's likely to be highly sought-after on the 2014 free agent market. Decker turns 27 in March. We still believe any receiver-desperate teams targeting him as a "No. 1" will overpay, and likely be disappointed. Decker's numbers with Peyton Manning are an inaccurate reflection of his good-not-great skill set. |

Sun Feb 2 2014 | 15:51 | Report: Broncos to let Decker test FA market |
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Broncos plan to let Eric Decker test the free agent market in March. |
In other words, they won't be re-signing him ahead of March 11. Per RapSheet, the Broncos "view him as a No. 2," and with both Demaryius and Julius Thomas entering contract years, Denver isn't willing to commit No. 1-receiver money to Decker. The team's "hope" is reportedly that Decker will receive his best offer and give the Broncos a chance to match. Ultimately, we expect Decker to follow the money. He'll be the top wideout on the open market. |

Sun Jan 19 2014 | 18:34 | Eric Decker goes for 73 yards in victory |
Eric Decker caught five passes for 73 yards in the Broncos' AFC Championship game win over the Patriots. |
Decker caught the game's initial two first downs on gains of 7 and 21 on short crossing routes over the middle. He added a 19-yarder on yet another crosser late in the first quarter, setting up the first score of the game via Matt Prater's chipshot. Decker added an 18-yard catch on a back-shoulder pass and an eight-yard chain mover on Denver's opening drive of the third quarter. Playing efficient, steady football down the stretch of his contract year, Decker will continue to be Peyton Manning's No. 3 pass-game option in Super Bowl 48, behind Demaryius and Julius Thomas. He's bypassed Wes Welker of late. |

Sun Jan 12 2014 | 20:22 | Decker held to 2 catches for 32 yards |
Eric Decker was held to two catches for 32 yards in Denver's playoff win over San Diego. |
Decker picked up an early first down on a comeback route in Chargers RCB Richard Marshall's coverage, gaining 13. He tacked on a third-quarter reception of 19. The contract-year wideout's biggest play came on a 47-yard punt runback that would've gone to the house had Decker not tripped over his own feet. Decker also had tough second-quarter drop on a surefire touchdown in the back of the end zone, which was tipped and intercepted by Chargers ILB Donald Butler. Expect Decker to play better in next week's matchup with New England. |

Sun Dec 29 2013 | 20:27 | Decker manages to find end-zone in Week 17 |
Eric Decker had four catches for 27 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 17 win over Oakland. |
Decker was a non-factor outside of a 12-yard touchdown in the first quarter. He played into the second half before ultimately being rested. Decker ends the 2013 regular season with 87 catches, 1,288 yards, and 11 touchdowns. An impending unrestricted free agent, the Broncos could struggle to re-sign Decker this offseason. |
