Fri Jun 18 2010 | 08:09 | Shipley, Caldwell locked in top four WRs |
Jordan Shipley and Andre Caldwell are locked in behind Chad Ochocinco and Antonio Bryant on the Bengals' depth chart, according to ESPN's James Walker. |
Bengals.com named Shipley "Best Newcomer" in the team's most recent minicamp, and he already appears to be in sync with Carson Palmer in the slot. Jerome Simpson and Matt Jones have also impressed in underwear practices, but Caldwell will be Shipley's primary competition this summer. |

Tue Jun 15 2010 | 18:54 | Shipley seeing time in three-receiver sets |
Third-round WR Jordan Shipley has been lining up with the first team "frequently" in three-receiver sets this spring. |
Coach Marvin Lewis has praised Andre Caldwell and Jerome Simpson this offseason, so it's too early to say Shipley has an edge on the No. 3 job. Those three, along with Matt Jones, will stage a training camp battle to determine the winner. |

Fri Apr 23 2010 | 21:34 | Bengals grab slot receiver Shipley |
Bengals selected Texas WR Jordan Shipley with the No. 84 pick in the 2010 draft. |
The Bengals got the message when the passing game imploded down the stretch, and now they're determined to hand Carson Palmer the missing pieces. Shipley isn't viewed as a future starter and his measurables won't impress anybody, but he's an ideal slot receiver. Andre Caldwell's development has stagnated, so Shipley could push him in 2011. Cincy faithful have to be going nuts after the Bengals passed on local hero Mardy Gilyard. |
