Powell left Thursday's game with a foot injury and is questionable to return, ESPN New York's Rich Cimini reports.

The Jets should get by fine without their third-string running back, who had one carry for seven yards and one reception for 12 yards at the time of his exit late in the third quarter. Powell has yet to record more than six touches in a single game this season.

Powell had two carries for 13 yards and two receptions for six yards in Monday's 27-19 loss to the Bears.

Powell gets some work in the two-minute offense and on third-and-longs, but he's otherwise absent from the gameplan, stuck behind Chris Johnson and Ivory.

Powell had four rushes for 16 yards and two catches for 32 yards in Sunday's loss at Green Bay,

Powell is one of the better No. 3 backs in the league, but his upside is capped so long as Chris Johnson and Chris Ivory remain healthy in New York.

Powell had just one touch (a four-yard rush) in Sunday's victory over Oakland.

The Jets ignored their No. 3 back, while Chris Johnson (18 touches) and Chris Ivory (10 carries) were liberally used.

The Jets continue to list three running backs (Powell, Chris Johnson, Chris Ivory) atop their depth chart, ESPN New York reports.

It was nice of the team to eliminate Curtis Martin, Freeman McNeil, and Emerson Boozer from consideration. The Jets can be as coy as they like, but the pecking order appears clear: Johnson, Ivory, Powell. Like most No. 3 backs, Powell will probably need injuries or poor play in front of him to get a significant opportunity.

Powell made the final roster as the Jets' No. 3 running back, NJ.com reports.

While clearly behind both Chris Johnson and Chris Ivory in the pecking order for touches, Powell also seemed to be quite a bit ahead of both Daryl Richardson and Alex Green for the No. 3 role. Though he isn't great in any aspect of the game, Powell offers versatility that makes him a strong choice for the No. 3 role. He's probably just one injury away -- to either Johnson or Ivory -- from having a significant role in the offense.

Making his 2014 preseason debut, Powell (hamstring) had four carries for 41 yards and a touchdown and two receptions for 13 yards on two targets Saturday against the Bengals.

Chris Ivory (ribs) didn't play, allowing Powell to work as the No. 2 running back behind starter Chris Johnson. While Johnson and Ivory are expected to handle most of the workload this season, Ivory has always struggled to stay healthy, and Johnson isn't the same guy who once rushed for 2,000 yards. Powell seems to be locked in as the No. 3 running back, leaving him one injury away from what would likely be a significant role in the offense.

Powell practiced on a limited basis earlier in the week, as his injury isn't though to be particularly serious. The Jets listed Powell, Chris Johnson and Chris Ivory (ribs) as co-starters on the initial depth chart, but Powell seems more likely to work as a No. 3. Ivory, who is known for his susceptibility to injuries as much as his hard running, left Thursday's contest with a rib issue that coach Rex Ryan downplayed after the game.

Powell (hamstring), who practiced on limited basis Tuesday, could play in Thursday's preseason opener against the Colts, the Daily News reports.

Chris Johnson, Chris Ivory and Powell are currently listed as first-teamers on the Jets' depth chart and while we suspect that when all three are healthy, Powell slots in behind Johnson and Ivory, coach Rex Ryan suggests that the team is inclined to use a committee approach at running back this season. "I definitely think it's going to be a committee approach. When you have Chris Ivory, Chris Johnson and Bilal Powell, I think that's a pretty safe bet," Ryan noted.

Powell exited last Tuesday's practice after tweaking his hamstring and had been sidelined ever since. Following a week of rest, Powell re-joined the Jets' running backs in drill work Tuesday; however, given the time he missed, it's probably unlikely Powell will be allowed to play in Thursday's preseason opener. Nonetheless, a healthy Powell figures to compete Daryl Richardson for third-string duties behind Chris Johnson and Chris Ivory.

With Chris Johnson and Chris Ivory expected to head the Jets' backfield, Powell probably needs a break or two to reclaim fantasy relevance, but his current hamstring issue is, at least, not believed to be serious.

Bilal Powell is expected to battle Daryl Richardson for the Jets' No. 3 tailback job in training camp.

Powell's snaps will be scaled back heavily from last year, when he operated as a committee member and passing-down back alongside Chris Ivory. The Jets claimed Richardson off waivers and signed Chris Johnson, putting Powell on the bubble. The 25-year-old is averaging 3.86 YPC through three NFL seasons.

Powell played on all passing downs and was used in committee with Chris Ivory. He added just four catches for 19 yards, with his best play coming on a 15-yard run up the middle in the second quarter. Powell has only one touchdown this season and remain nothing more than a low-end RB4 for the final week of the fantasy playoffs

Bilal Powell rushed eight times for 14 yards in Sunday's Week 14 win over the Raiders.

He added one catch for 24 yards. Powell was used on third downs and in a change-of-pace role behind Chris Ivory, finishing with only nine touches. He's averaging just 54 total yards over the last three games and won't be a recommended fantasy option in Week 15 against the Panthers.

Bilal Powell rushed seven times for 34 yards in Sunday's Week 13 loss to the Dolphins.

He added three catches for 25 yards. Powell was used in a committee and split goal-line work with Chris Ivory, but saw more playing in the second half with the Jets playing from behind. He was targeted five times in the passing game and finished with 10 touches. Powell will be just a low-end RB3/FLEX option in Week 14 against the Raiders.

Bilal Powell rushed 11 times for 41 yards and caught three balls for 24 yards in the Jets' Week 12 loss to Baltimore.

Powell experienced an uptick in playing time because the Jets fell behind on the scoreboard and he is their passing-down back. Chris Ivory rushed just nine times for 35 yards. Powell's snaps are always dependent on what's happening on the scoreboard, leaving him with very little re-draft-league fantasy value. He won't be a recommended flex play in Week 13 against Miami.

Bilal Powell rushed nine times for 29 yards and did not catch a pass in Sunday's Week 9 win over the Saints.

Unlike last week, the Jets never trailed by more than eight points and held a lead for the entire second half. Therefore, it was the Chris Ivory show. Owners are going to have to predict how the Jets will fare on a week-to-week basis in order to project running back usage. We suspect they'll have a lead or be close against the Bills in Week 11 (they have a bye in Week 10), making Powell a hands-off fantasy play.

Bilal Powell rushed for 19 yards on ten carries in Week 8 against the Bengals.

Powell was back in the saddle as the lead dog in the Jets' backfield. It likely had to do with the Jets trailing early and big on the scoreboard. Powell is the team's passing-down and no-huddle back. He also caught four passes for 20 yards. Chris Ivory rushed for just 11 yards on six carries. This is going to be a timeshare moving forward. The Jets host the Saints in Week 9.

Coach Rex Ryan did not suggest injury as a reason for Bilal Powell's three touches in Sunday's win over the Patriots.
