Sun Dec 23 201220:21Bilal Powell totals just 34 yards in loss
Bilal Powell finished with -3 yards rushing on three carries in New York's Week 16 loss to the Chargers, but added four catches for 37 yards.
Powell lost yards on both of his first-quarter totes, and didn't carry the ball again until the fourth quarter. He was out-touched 16-7 by Shonn Greene. Although Powell has flashed signs of usefulness this season, he'd be unlikely to be installed as the Jets' feature back if impending free agent Greene walks.

Tue Dec 18 201200:32Powell gets eight touches in MNF loss
Bilal Powell rushed for 28 yards on six carries and caught two passes for 15 yards in Week 15 against the Titans.
Powell was held under double-digit touches for the first time since Week 10, and it came one week after he toted the rock 19 times in Jacksonville. He played primarily on passing downs and lost some work in that area to Joe McKnight, who received four carries. Powell battled a toe injury during the week, so that may explain his limited usage. He'll be a poor flex play option for Week 16 against the Chargers' No. 7 run defense.

Sat Dec 15 201217:51Powell listed as probable for Monday night
Bilal Powell (toe, shoulder) practiced in full on Saturday and is listed as probable for Monday night versus the Titans.
Powell steadily improved throughout the week, going from a DNP on Thursday, to limited on Friday, and then finally "full" on Saturday. He and Shonn Greene will continue to split carries in the New York backfield. Powell is Rotoworld's No. 34 running back for Week 15 and isn't a recommended flex option.

Fri Dec 14 201215:46Bilal Powell returns to limited practice
Bilal Powell (toe) returned to a limited practice on Friday.
The Jets will release their final injury report for Week 15 on Friday. Powell has avoided a fracture in the toe, but has experienced soreness and will not be a recommended flex play on Monday night against Tennessee.

Fri Dec 14 201211:01Bilal Powell to miss practice again Friday
Jets RB Bilal Powell (toe) will miss practice again on Friday.
X-rays were negative on Powell's toe, but he's still experiencing soreness. Although coach Rex Ryan has expressed optimism that Powell will play against the Titans Monday night, it's a good bet that Shonn Greene will be carrying a heavier workload than normal.

Thu Dec 13 201211:28Bilal Powell to play despite fractured toe
The Jets revealed Thursday that Bilal Powell has a fractured toe.
Powell played in a dead-even timeshare with Shonn Greene last week, compiling 78 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. The fracture was likely discovered after the game. Even though Powell won't practice Thursday, coach Rex Ryan expressed no concern over his availability for Monday night's game in Tennessee. However, if Powell is operating at less than 100 percent than a larger piece of this timeshare figures to go to Greene. It's a situation to monitor through Saturday's practice.

Sun Dec 2 201216:12Powell runs for 58 yards in Week 13 win
Bilal Powell rushed 12 times for 58 yards as the Jets outlasted the Cardinals in Week 13.
Powell got the start, but Shonn Greene appeared to have the hotter hand and the Jets stuck with Greene en route to twice as many carries as Powell had. Although Powell has earned increased workloads as the season as gone along, he's not an upgrade on Greene as an early-down ball carrier and hasn't swiped Greene's starting job. Leave Powell on fantasy benches in Week 14 at Jacksonville.

Fri Nov 23 201200:56Powell scores again in Week 12 loss
Bilal Powell rushed 12 times for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Jets' Week 12 loss to the Patriots.
Powell was the red zone back of choice, and that ended up netting him a score from four yards out in the third quarter. New York is moving to more of a timeshare committee between he and Shonn Greene in the backfield, so Powell could be worth a grab in deeper leagues. Greene touched the ball 15 times on Thursday night, compared to 14 for Powell.

Tue Nov 20 201220:50Bilal Powell practicing in full
Bilal Powell (shoulder) is practicing in full this week.
Powell is seemingly always on the injury report, but has managed to suit up for 8-of-10 games this season. The Jets' goal-line and third-down back in Sunday's win over the Rams, Powell appears ticketed for a strict timeshare on Thanksgiving against the Patriots. You could do worse for a desperation flex option.

Sat Nov 17 201215:31Powell (concussion) will play in Week 11
Bilal Powell (concussion, questionable) will play on Sunday against the Rams.
Powell suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter of last week's game in Seattle, so it's a quick recovery for the second-year back. However, he won't have much of an impact in the game. Powell isn't worthy of a roster spot in standard 10-12 team leagues.

Fri Nov 16 201218:35Bilal Powell questionable for Week 11
Bilal Powell (concussion) returned to Jets practice Friday, getting in a limited session.
Powell is officially questionable for Week 11, but it's hard to see him making an impact against the Rams if he's active. The "questionable" tag does suggest he's been medically cleared, however. Even behind lead-footed Shonn Greene, Powell isn't worth a roster spot in 10-12 team leagues.

Wed Nov 14 201213:16Bilal Powell not practicing Wednesday
Bilal Powell (concussion) was held out of Wednesday's practice.
It means he's unlikely to be cleared in time for Sunday's game. Back to a strict reserve role even before his latest injury, Powell can be dropped in 12-14 team leagues.

Sun Nov 11 201218:57Bilal Powell out after concussion
Jets RB Bilal Powell suffered a fourth-quarter concussion against Seattle and is done for the night.
He'll be doubtful for Week 11, as well. Powell played sparingly behind Shonn Greene against the Seahawks, managing two touches for 11 yards. He can be dropped comfortably in re-draft leagues.

Fri Nov 9 201217:18Powell (shoulder) expects to return this week
Bilal Powell (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Week 10 against the Seahawks.
Powell missed two weeks with a dislocated shoulder, but practiced on a limited basis this week and is expected to be active Sunday, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. With Joe McKnight (ankle) sidelined, Powell will serve as the primary change-of-pace option to Shonn Greene.

Bilal Powell (shoulder) returned to a limited practice Wednesday.
Powell missed the last two weeks with a dislocated shoulder and will continue to be evaluated on a day-to-day basis. With Powell and Joe McKnight (ankle) sidelined, Shonn Greene has firmly entrenched himself as the Jets' featured back.

Fri Oct 26 201214:14Bilal Powell listed as doubtful for Week 8
Bilal Powell (shoulder) missed Jets practice again Friday and is listed as doubtful for Week 8 against the Dolphins.
Shonn Greene may be an every-down back in the difficult matchup with Powell out and Joe McKnight still hobbled by his ankle injury. McKnight didn't practice at all this week and will be a game-time decision. Powell's status remains "week to week" with no timetable for return. He's droppable in 12-team leagues.

Thu Oct 25 201212:00Bilal Powell not practicing again
Bilal Powell (shoulder) is not practicing Thursday.
With the bye looming in Week 9, it wouldn't make sense to rush Powell back from a dislocated shoulder. Shonn Greene projects as a workhorse against the Dolphins once again.

Wed Oct 24 201213:53Bilal Powell yet to resume practicing
Jets RB Bilal Powell (shoulder) was held out of Wednesday's practice.
The Jets have been targeting Sunday for Powell's return, but that just got a whole lot less realistic. With Shonn Greene on a mini-tear of late, Gang Green doesn't need to rush his backup. That being said, Greene should be in for a rude awakening against the Dolphins' tough run defense this Sunday.

Mon Oct 15 201217:43Bilal Powell likely shelved thru Week 8 or 9
The Jets are hopeful that Bilal Powell will be able to return from his dislocated shoulder in Week 8 against the Dolphins.
Powell is definitely out for Week 7 against the Patriots. It might make sense for the Jets to hold him out through their Week 9 bye in order to have Powell all healed up for the stretch run. The Jets are currently in first place in the AFC. While that's probably not going to last, they will need Powell healthy to keep Mark Sanchez protected well in obvious passing situations.

Sun Oct 14 201217:41Jets' Bilal Powell dislocates right shoulder
The preliminary diagnosis of Bilal Powell is that he dislocated his right shoulder in Sunday's win over the Colts.
He'll be out indefinitely. The Jets will likely turn back to Shonn Greene as their primary runner, with Joe McKnight in the pace-change and passing-down role. Powell had been key to New York's offense because he can protect the quarterback on passing downs and catch the ball out of the backfield. Wait for more reports on the severity, but Powell is looking drop-able in fantasy leagues.
