Shorts had two catches for three yards in Sunday's loss to Houston.
Shorts was targeted a team-high 10 times but fell victim to the accuracy troubles that have plagued rookie quarterback Blake Bortles for most of the season. Despite his status as the Jags' top receiver, Shorts has just 44 total receiving yards over his last three games.

Shorts (illness) finished with four catches for 35 yards in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Shorts battled through flu-like symptoms in the week leading up to Sunday's game but took the field and was targeted by Blake Bortles eight times, which tied for tops on the team. While Shorts appears to be the Jags' unquestioned No. 1 receiver, he's turned in just two 100-yard efforts on the season and has topped 50 yards in just one of his last six games.

Fri Nov 28 201414:41Shorts (flu) probable for Sunday's game against Giants
Shorts (flu) is probable for Sunday's game against the Giants, Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reports.
Shorts, who checks in with 34 catches for 381 yards and a TD in eight games overall, will look to bounce back from the one-catch, six-yard effort he put up in Week 12. Prior to that dud, he caught five passes in each of his previous two games, so a bounce-back Sunday seems plausible against a Giants' defense that allows an average of 254 passing yards per game.
Thu Nov 27 201412:13Shorts (flu) returned to practice Thursday
Shorts (flu) returned to practice Thursday, Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reports.
Shorts' return to practice puts him on track to be available for Sunday's game against the Giants, at which point the wideout -- who has caught 34 passes for 381 yards and a TD in eight games to date -- will look to bounce back from a one-catch, six-yard effort in Week 12.
Wed Nov 26 201417:53Shorts (flu) missed practice Wednesday
Shorts (flu) missed practice Wednesday, the Jaguars' official site reports.
Shorts should be fine for Sunday's game against the Giants, though he's coming off a one-catch, six-yard fantasy dud in Week 12, after catching five passes in each of his previous two outings.

Shorts had just one catch for six yards in Sunday's loss to the Colts.
Coming off of a 119-yard performance against the Cowboys before the bye week, Shorts followed up with a dude, notching just one reception on three targets. Shorts is firmly entrenched as the Jags' No. 1 receiver, but his upside is severely limited by the inconsistency of rookie quarterback Blake Bortles, who threw for a season-low 146 with one pick Sunday.

Shorts (hamstring) caught five passes for 119 yards in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys.
Shorts, who dealt with a hamstring issue in the week leading up to the game, was targeted seven times by quarterback Blake Bortles, second only to Allen Robinson (10 targets). While Shorts' upside is limited by Bortles' inexperience, the fourth-year receiver has been targeted at least seven times in his last five games. On the season (seven games), he has 33 catches for 375 yards and one touchdown.
Sun Nov 9 201411:32Shorts (hamstring) active for Sunday's game against Cowboys
Shorts (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
Shorts' hamstring is not a concern after he was able to log a full practice Friday. He's averaging 10 targets per game over the last four weeks, and quarterback Blake Bortles will likely look his way frequently Sunday against Dallas' mediocre pass defense.
Fri Nov 7 201410:19Cecil Shorts: (Hamstring) Listed As Probable
Shorts (hamstring) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
Shorts sat out Thursday's practice to rest his hamstring, but he is good to go for Sunday's game after getting in a full practice session Friday. Shorts has tallied just 256 receiving yards in six games, but he has been getting regular looks from quarterback Blake Bortles, as evidenced by his average of nine targets per contest.

Though Shorts sat out Thursday's practice with hamstring tightness, he hopes to play Sunday against the Cowboys, the Florida Times-Union reports. "Taking today off to rest it and then go out there and practice [Friday] and go from there," Shorts noted Thursday.
We'll thus revisit the wideout's status Friday, though at this stage it appears as though Shorts intends to practice in some capacity on Friday in advance of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff against Dallas.
Wed Nov 5 201411:03Shorts limited during Wednesday's practice due to sore hamstring
Shorts was limited during Wednesday's practice due to a sore hamstring, the Florida Times-Union reports.
Shorts has dealt with nagging groin and hamstring issues throughout this season and was thus limited Wednesday to gain some rest here and there. Expect the wideout's status to be updated as the week unfolds in advance of Sunday's game versus Dallas.
Sun Nov 2 201417:41Shorts caught five passes for 40 yards in Sunday's loss to Benga...
Shorts caught five passes for 40 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
Shorts was targeted seven times on the day, his fewest since Sept. 28 against San Diego. The veteran, who dealt with a groin issue in the week leading up to the game, is Jacksonville's best receiver, though his value is limited by the deficiencies of rookie Blake Bortles and the struggling Jags' offense. Over the last three weeks, Shorts has a total of 93 yards on 11 catches.

Shorts (groin) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Evidently past the hamstring woes that slowed him earlier this season, Shorts is in line to continue to see his share of targets, assuming his health. Though he has caught just three passes in each of his last two games, he has seen a combined 17 looks over that span.

Shorts (groin) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reports.
Though Shorts has caught just three passes in each of his last two games, now evidently past the hamstring woes that slowed him earlier this season, he continues to see his share of targets, with a combined 17 looks over his last two outings.

Shorts had three catches on eight targets for 41 yards in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins.
It wasn't the most productive day for Shorts, but it's encouraging to see him maintain a relatively high number of targets. He's now been targeted at least eight times in four of five contests this season. Projecting Shorts' value is rather difficult with the inexperienced Blake Bortles manning the Jaguars' offense, but he is the unquestioned number one receiver, which should continue to yield high target numbers.

Shorts (hamstring) caught 10 passes for 103 yards - both game-highs - in Sunday's loss to the Titans.
Shorts has been hobbled by a hamstring issue for much of the season and played Sunday after missing last week's loss to the Steelers. His return was a welcomed sight for Blake Bortles, who targeted Shorts 16 times. Shorts' value going forward may be limited by Bortles' inexperience, not to mention the Jags' sluggish offense, but he's the clear number one option in the passing game when healthy.
Sun Oct 12 201411:45Shorts (hamstring) active for Sunday's game against Titans
Shorts (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Titans.
Shorts was able to fully practice Thursday and Friday after being held out Wednesday. He has played in only two games this year, catching seven passes for 60 yards and a touchdown, and he returns along with rookie Marqise Lee, who has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury of his own. Allens Robinson and Hurns are also active, with the former getting the start ahead of Lee on Sunday.

Shorts (hamstring) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Titans, the Jaguars' official site reports.
Having turned in two straight full practices, Shorts is on track to be available for Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff, though we'd like to see him get a full and productive game in before endorsing him as a lineup option.
Thu Oct 9 201416:07Shorts (left hamstring) full participant in practice Thursday
Shorts (left hamstring) was a full participant in practice Thursday, the Florida Times-Union reports.
We'll have to see how Shorts responds to a return to a full workload at practice on Thursday, but it's a big step in the right direction for the wideout, who did not practice Wednesday. We'll revisit Shorts' status Friday to see what official injury designation he ends up with in advance of Sunday's game against the Titans.
