Wed Dec 12 201216:47Rob Housler has knee issue
Cardinals TE Rob Housler was limited in Wednesday's practice with a knee issue.
It isn't believed to be a serious issue for Housler, who should be good to go against the Lions. Although Housler is averaging 6.3 catches over his past three games, he can't be trusted as a low-end TE1 for the fantasy playoffs with Ryan Lindley under center for Arizona.

Sun Dec 9 201220:19Rob Housler racks up seven catches
Rob Housler caught seven passes for 36 yards in the Cardinals' Week 14 loss to the Seahawks.
The athletic, 6'5/250 Housler continues to act as a security blanket for the Cardinals' inept quarterbacks. He now has 19 catches in the last three weeks and is averaging 4.7 catches per game over the last seven. However, Housler has no touchdowns on the season and is getting just 9.39 yards per catch. His upside is capped by the John Skelton and Ryan Lindley.

Sun Dec 2 201216:27Housler goes for 14 yards on 4 receptions
Rob Housler caught four passes for 15 yards in the Cardinals' Week 13 loss to the Jets.
He was targeted six times by Ryan Lindley. Lindley may have a strong arm and ideal physical build for a quarterback, but his inaccuracy as a passer is killing Arizona's offense. Leave Housler on the waiver wire for Week 14 at Seattle.

Fri Nov 30 201208:23Whiz impressed with TE Housler's growth
Coach Ken Whisenhunt has been impressed with TE Rob Housler's improvement as a blocker.
"I'm excited about the way Rob's grown," Whisenhunt said. Veteran Todd Heap was inactive again last week, this time perhaps as a healthy scratch. After career-highs in targets (11), catches (8), and yards (82) against the Rams, Housler should be locked in as the starter going forward. He's a breakout candidate for 2013 if Arizona improves the o-line and quarterback situations.

Sun Nov 25 201220:37Rob Housler has career day in loss
One week after drawing zero targets against the Falcons, Rob Housler caught eight passes for 82 yards in Arizona's Week 12 loss to the Rams.
Housler drew 11 targets en route to posting a career high in both yards and catches. Throwing out Housler's Week 11 dud - where the Cardinals totaled just 70 passing yards - he's averaging 5.5 catches for 55.8 yards over his past eight games. Arizona's disastrous quarterback situation makes any Cardinals' pass catcher a shaky fantasy bet, but Housler is a high-upside TE2.

Sun Nov 18 201216:51Rob Housler not targeted in Week 11
Rob Housler was not targeted in the Cardinals' Week 11 loss to Atlanta.
The Cardinals increased Michael Floyd's role coming out of their bye, but apparently didn't do the same for Housler. Of course, it didn't help the tight end's cause that Arizona managed a pathetic 70 passing yards as a team Sunday. Housler will continue to be a dicey TE2 entering a Week 12 date with the Rams.

Sun Nov 4 201217:55Housler generates 55 yards on 9 targets
Rob Housler caught five balls for 55 yards in the Cardinals' Week 9 loss to the Packers.
It's nice to see Housler more involved (nine targets) because he has some big-play ability, but John Skelton doesn't look to him in the red zone, and the Cards simply don't entering scoring position enough. Housler is worth a stash in dynasty leagues. Don't pick him up in re-draft during the Week 10 bye.

Sat Nov 3 201213:47Cardinals add Housler to injury report
Rob Housler (hip) was added to the Week 9 injury report but is listed as probable.
Housler has racked up nine catches on 12 targets in the past two weeks with John Skelton at quarterback, but he still has yet to find the end zone this season. He's not much of a fantasy option, especially with the Arizona offense sputtering. Fellow tight end Todd Heap (knee) is listed as questionable.

Tue Oct 30 201200:58Housler puts together 32 yards on four balls
Rob Housler caught four passes for 32 yards against San Francisco in Week 8.
Housler saw five targets on Monday night, and the stat line was a standard day at the office for the second-year tight end. He has a good ability to stretch the field, but the 49ers defense is just too powerful. Housler has been sneaking his way up to the TE2 radar, but he's still not much of a fantasy option. We'd like to see him find the end zone.

Sun Oct 21 201218:07Housler posts career-high 54 yards in Week 7
Cardinals TE Rob Housler posted a career-high 54 yards on five receptions at Minnesota in Week 7.
Unlike Andre Roberts' 103-yard effort, Housler's production came within the framework of the offense as opposed to garbage time. His seven targets were the most of the season, and he's now topped 40 yards in three of the past four games. Housler is on the TE2 radar with John Skelton looking his way more than Kevin Kolb ever did.

Sun Oct 14 201220:49Housler catches just two passes on Sunday
Rob Housler caught just two passes for 12 yards against the Bills in Week 6.
Housler garnered the start for the fourth straight week with Todd Heap (knee) out, but he was a non-factor. The tight end saw just three targets on Sunday and is not a fantasy option at the moment.

Fri Oct 5 201200:39Housler gathers 45 yards on three catches
Cardinals TE Rob Housler caught three passes for 45 yards in Week 5 against St. Louis.
Housler continues to see more and more snaps, but he is still far off of the fantasy radar. He's a seam-stretching tight end who plays with a weak-armed quarterback that doesn't get enough time in the pocket to see the field. Housler saw six targets on the night.

Sun Sep 30 201220:07Housler goes for 48 yards in Week 4 win
Cardinals TE Rob Housler caught two balls for 48 yards in the team's Week 4 win over the Dolphins.
Housler helps the Arizona offense as a seam-stretching tight end who can really run, but he's not an every-down player in the offense and through four weeks is on pace for only 292 yards. Leave Housler on the fantasy waiver wire.

Thu Sep 20 201211:07Rob Housler in line for bigger role
Rob Housler is in line for an expanded role in Week 3 thanks to Todd Heap's knee injury.
Heap is in doubt for Sunday's game against the Eagles thanks to a sprained PCL. Housler is a name for extreme deep leaguers and Dynasty owners to watch thanks to his passing-catching skills, speed and 6'5/250 frame.

Mon Sep 10 201215:39Housler played just six snaps in Week 1
Cardinals TE Rob Housler played just six offensive snaps in Sunday's opener against the Seahawks.
Todd Heap played 47 snaps, and Jeff King got in 29. Housler has speed to stretch the seam and some playmaking ability, but he's going to need to make major playing-time strides to come anywhere close to the re-draft fantasy radar.

Thu Aug 23 201219:09Housler sitting out with hamstring injury
Cardinals TE Rob Housler will sit out Thursday's preseason game with hamstring injury.
There's no word on the severity, though it's worth noting that beat writers were surprised by Housler's absence. It's an injury to monitor in deeper leagues, as Housler has breakout appeal if he can eat into Todd Heap's early-season snaps.

Mon Aug 6 201210:08Housler catches 3 balls for 51 yards
Cardinals TE Rob Housler caught three passes for 51 yards in Sunday night's Hall of Fame Game preseason opener.
Housler also let one rocket ball glance off his hands, although Richard Bartel showed incredibly poor touch on the throw. Housler displayed his seam-stretching ability and was consistently open. The second-year tight end's playing time will be a 2012 fantasy concern, but his talent is right on par with a low-end TE1.

Fri Jun 15 201209:21Cardinals plan to incorporate TE in offense
According to the Arizona Republic, it's "clear" that the Cardinals plan to incorporate the tight end more into the passing attack.
Coaches are "excited" about the potential of Rob Housler, who rarely came off the field during spring practices. "To be honest with you, I think the tight ends are probably our strongest position on the field right now," said Larry Fitzgerald. Housler has the speed to emerge as a down the seam threat. Keep an eye on the 2011 third-rounder as a breakout candidate.
