Sat Aug 24 201300:01DuJuan Harris says his knee is 'fine'
Packers RB DuJuan Harris told reporters following Friday night's preseason game that his re-injured knee is "fine."
Harris' durability remains a concern, but he looks to have escaped serious injury against the Seahawks. He's still on track to open the season as the Packers' change-of-pace complement to rookie Eddie Lacy.

Fri Aug 23 201321:50DuJuan Harris leaves preseason game injured
Packers RB DuJuan Harris managed two yards on three carries and caught an 11-yard pass in Friday night's preseason game before leaving with a knee injury.
Harris walked off under his own power, though he was limping a bit and had the knee wrapped on the Packers' training table. It was Harris' preseason debut after missing the first two exhibition games with a multi-week knee injury. Harris also underwent offseason surgery to have a cyst removed from his lung. The veteran Harris nominally started Friday night's preseason affair, but projects as a change-of-pace back behind Eddie Lacy.

Mon Aug 19 201313:52DuJuan Harris gets 1st-team reps at practice
DuJuan Harris was the first-team running back at Packers practice Monday.
The Packers seem intent on deferring to the veteran with reps despite Eddie Lacy's bruising, powerful preseason debut where he averaged 5.0 yards per carry. We do anticipate Harris earning a role in the offense -- and perhaps even getting nominal "starts" -- but Lacy will be Green Bay's feature back. Harris (5'7/214) is far better suited for a pace-change/passing-down role. On Monday, Harris was first in line, Lacy second, and Johnathan Franklin third.

Mon Aug 12 201314:02Packers activate DuJuan Harris
Packers activated RB DuJuan Harris (knee) from active/PUP.
Although coach Mike McCarthy recently called Harris the Packers' "starter," the reality is Harris is internally viewed as a change-of-pace back and Green Bay wouldn't have used two quality draft picks on running backs if they thought of Harris as a lead runner. Harris is a threat to Johnathan Franklin and John Kuhn's snaps as a situational, passing-down specialist.

Fri Jul 26 201312:08DuJuan Harris out 2-3 weeks with knee injury
Packers RB DuJuan Harris will miss 2-3 weeks with a knee injury.
Harris was placed on the active/PUP list Thursday. When healthy, he'll compete for change-of-pace carries behind Eddie Lacy. Due to Green Bay's influx of tailback talent, missed reps could hurt Harris' chances of making the team.

Sun Jun 16 201316:48DuJuan Harris confirms he'll be set for camp
Speaking at the Packers' annual charity softball game Sunday, DuJuan Harris (lung cyst) confirmed he'll be ready for the start of training camp.
Harris missed minicamp after a cyst was found on his lung during his pre-camp physical. He promised to be "110 percent" soon, and it sounds like he will be. Harris participated fully in the softball game, swinging a bat and playing in the field. He's a candidate for change-of-pace carries behind Eddie Lacy.

Wed Jun 5 201314:57Cyst found on Harris' lung during physical
A cyst was found on Packers RB DuJuan Harris' lung during a physical, but he said he should be "110 percent very soon."
Players go through physicals before minicamps for reasons like this. Per the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, coach Mike McCarthy said he's hopeful Harris will be available for the start of training camp. When he returns to action, the 24-year-old Harris will work to secure a role in a backfield with two new prominent members in rookies Eddie Lacy and Johnathan Franklin.

Wed Mar 20 201310:58McCarthy has praise for DuJuan Harris
Coach Mike McCarthy singled out RB DuJuan Harris for praise Tuesday.
McCarthy had problems with the lingering health issues of James Starks and Alex Green, but wished he got his hands on Harris earlier in the season. "Once he got ready, I felt great about the way DuJuan finished the season," McCarthy said. We can tentatively pencil Harris in on top of the Packers' committee while we wait to see what kind of talent they add to the position.

Fri Mar 15 201301:41Packers 'feel good' with DuJuan Harris
The Packers reportedly "feel good" about second-year RB DuJuan Harris and "would be satisfied" using him in a 2013 rotation.
The Packers do not view 5-foot-7, 197-pound Harris as a workhorse, but it sounds like they have every intention of using him in a committee. Harris currently sits above Alex Green, James Starks, and Brandon Saine on Green Bay's depth chart. If GM Ted Thompson doesn't pick up a free agent like Ahmad Bradshaw on the cheap, we'd expect the Packers to draft a back on the first or second day.

RB coach Alex Van Pelt suggested that the Packers don't view DuJuan Harris as a potential workhorse back.

Fri Jan 18 201312:03Packers to pursue 'go-to back' in ofseason
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel expects the Packers to pursue a "go-to back" this offseason.
The Journal-Sentinel characterizes postseason lead rusher DuJuan Harris as a "change-of-pace" back. The Packers realized in 2012 that they needed a foundation run game, trying desperately to fit Cedric Benson and later Alex Green into the role. They finished 16th in rushing attempts, but 22nd in yards per carry. Benson is not expected back, and James Starks may not return, either.

Mon Jan 14 201312:21Harris best bet to open 2013 as starting RB?
The Green Bay Press-Gazette suggests DuJuan Harris is "perhaps the best bet" among the players currently on the roster to open next season as the starting tailback.
We wouldn't bet heavily on it. The Press-Gazette concedes the Packers will have to decide if Harris has the size to be the primary back or if he's better suited to the change-of-pace role. Although Alex Green is talking as if he will a major role in 2013, the local papers believe James Starks' roster spot is far from safe at $1.3 million. The Packers will have to decide whether to take another chance on Cedric Benson or perhaps bring another free agent or draft pick.

Sat Jan 12 201323:52DuJuan Harris totals 64 yds, TD in Pack loss
DuJuan Harris rushed 11 times for 53 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 11 yards in Green Bay's Divisional Round playoff loss to San Francisco.
Harris made a couple of big-time cuts on his 18-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter. He's shown himself to be an effective "space" back, with smooth hands, a muscular lower body, and impressive balance that allows Harris to be a deceptively efficient tackle breaker. Although Harris seems unlikely to return as Green Bay's starting tailback in 2013, he should have a roster spot locked up on his minimum salary of $555,000.

Fri Jan 11 201310:21Harris to split time with Starks on Saturday?
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel considers DuJuan Harris "likely to split time with" James Starks (knee) in Saturday's game at San Francisco.
The takeaway here is that Starks has leapfrogged Ryan Grant and Alex Green on the depth chart for what will be his first game in over a month. The Journal-Sentinel concedes that Harris "may render the other backs unnecessary" if he is effective early in the game.

Sun Jan 6 201314:29DuJuan Harris behind focus on ground attack
Coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that DuJuan Harris "has something to do" with the Packers' growing focus on the ground attack.
"He's a pretty cool customer," added McCarthy. "I don't think a lot gets him excited. He's a steady personality. He's getting better." Harris clearly has the hot hand in the Green Bay backfield, though next week's matchup is tougher at San Francisco. Alex Green didn't leave the sidelines for a second straight week while Ryan Grant was limited to 14-of-68 snaps.

Sat Jan 5 201323:22DuJuan Harris totals 100 yards vs. Vikings
Packers RB DuJuan Harris rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries and caught five balls for 53 yards as Green Bay dominated the Vikings in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
Harris started for the second straight week. Despite his pint-sized stature, Harris ran with physicality and balance, making him very difficult for Vikings defenders to bring down. Harris isn't a great talent, but he's sharp on outside zone runs and has earned Green Bay's feature back job with back-to-back solid performances. He'll have a tougher go of it at San Francisco in the Divisional Round.

Mon Dec 31 201216:13Packers plan to 'keep progressing' RB Harris
Although the Packers do not have a starting running back, the coaches are "doing everything we can to keep progressing" DuJuan Harris as the playoffs begin.
"He does have unique skills and run ability I haven't had the opportunity to work with in my time here," explained coach Mike McCarthy. The starter for Saturday night's game will depend on game plan and the work week, with "game flow" and "hot hand" determining the ultimate breakdown in playing time. "We'll try to make sure all three of those guys are ready to go," added McCarthy.
