Raiders claimed WR Andre Holmes off waivers from the Patriots.
Although Holmes has been cut twice since late November -- first by Dallas and most recently by New England -- he's 6-foot-4, 210 with 4.45 speed and the Raiders need all the talent they can get. He'll compete for a roster spot.

Cowboys declared WR Andre Holmes, CB Mike Jenkins, RB DeMarco Murray, OG David Arkin, G/C Ryan Cook, C Phil Costa, and DE Sean Lissemore inactive for Week 11 against the Browns.
No surprises here. Murray seems to be targeting a Week 12 return from the foot injury the Cowboys insist isn't a Lisfranc sprain. Felix Jones will start.

Mon Aug 20 201215:27Cowboys WR Holmes undergoing MRI on back
Cowboys WR Andre Holmes suffered a back injury in Monday's practice, and will undergo an MRI.
Even if it's minor, it's an ill-timed injury for a player in the thick of the race for Dallas' No. 3 receiver job. Holmes has come on in practice after a slow start, but has just five catches for 46 yards through two preseason games. Missing Saturday's game against the Rams would be a major blow to his chances of being named Dez Bryant and Miles Austin's top backup.

Tue Aug 14 201217:15Andre Holmes 'really stood out' Monday
Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones said Andre Holmes "really stood out" in Monday's preseason opener, leading the team with three catches for 40 yards.
Jones also hinted that Holmes may have jumped to the head of the class among the candidates for third receiver role. Kevin Ogletree and Cole Beasley played with the starters in three-wide sets, but Holmes is coming on strong. The Cowboys will move Miles Austin to the slot when they go three-wide if Holmes wins the No. 3 job.

Thu Jul 5 201208:48Andre Holmes the early leader for No. 3 gig?
Owner/GM Jerry Jones recently suggested that Andre Holmes has the inside track on the No. 3 wideout job.
Holmes went undrafted out of tiny Hillsdale last season and spent the year on the practice squad. He does have excellent size at 6'5/223. Holmes will be battling with Dwayne Harris and Kevin Ogletree for the job. ESPN Dallas says he would have been called up to the active roster late last season if not for a hamstring injury.

With Danny Coale (foot) out until training camp, Holmes is competing with Dwayne Harris and Kevin Ogletree for the third receiver job. Mon May 7 201220:07Cowboys hoping No. 3 WR is on roster
The Cowboys are hoping that their third wide receiver is currently on the roster.
Dallas is holding an open competition for the job, which was vacated when Laurent Robinson signed with Jacksonville. Although Kevin Ogletree is considered the favorite due to his veteran status, coach Jason Garrett admits that he is far from entrenched. Fifth-round pick Danny Coale, Dwayne Harris, and Raymond Radway will be in the mix, but "the most talked-about player at the position this offseason", Andre Holmes, is the name to watch. It's worth noting that Robinson spent the 2011 preseason with San Diego. Dallas is likely to add a veteran to the mix prior to Week 1.
