Ford (foot) had a season-high six catches on six targets for 61 yards Sunday against the Bucs.
Ford is behind Rhett Ellison and MarQueis Gray on the depth chart while Kyle Rudolph is sidelined with a groin injury, and while Sunday's output was relatively impressive, Ford remains a very limited fantasy option in most leagues.

Ford (foot) is active for Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers.
Ford may be suiting up, but he'll presumably take on a reserve role behind Rhett Ellison and MarQueis Gray. He was held without a catch on three targets last week against the Bills, but no Minnesota tight end was able to haul in a pass in that contest. It's likely a situation to avoid from a fantasy standpoint until Kyle Rudolph (sports hernia) returns to action.

Ford (foot) is active for Sunday's contest in Buffalo.
Since Teddy Bridgewater emerged in Week 4 against the Falcons, Ford has been a safety valve of sorts, taking on at least four targets in three consecutive games. Ford will attempt to take advantage of a Bills defense that has yielded 6.2 catches and 57.2 yards per game to opposing tight ends through six weeks this season.

Ford had four receptions for 37 yards and was targeted five times in Sunday's loss to Detroit.
Ford's role in the passing game continues to grow as he played 53 snaps on offense. Ford's role will shrink once Kyle Rudolph returns from groin surgery, but he should be the top receiving tight end option on the Vikings the next few weeks.

Ford had three receptions for 31 yards in Thursday's loss to the Packers.
Of the three candidates attempting to replace the injured Kyle Rudolph (sports hernia) at tight end for the Vikings, Ford looks like he could emerge as the best pass-catching option of the group. None of the players have proven they can be reliable fantasy options in this offense, however.

Sat Aug 30 201423:12Ford (foot) released by Vikings
Ford (foot) was released by the Vikings, ESPN reports.
He was as surprise cut as he caught 11 balls for 133 yards last season. Perhaps he wasn't back from the broken foot he suffered early in the preseason.
Mon Aug 25 201411:44Ford (broken foot) activated from PUP list
Ford (broken foot) was activated from the PUP list.
He had started running last week, so there's a decent change he'll be ready for Week 1. He'll have a lower profile role then late last season with Kyle Rudolph fully healthy.

Thu Jul 24 201414:32Vikes TE Ford recovering from foot surgery
Vikings TE Chase Ford is recovering from left-foot surgery, and will miss all of training camp.
Ford had a stress fracture. It's bad news for a bubble player, though Ford will likely spend the first six weeks of the season on the reserve/PUP list, delaying his roster decision. A 2012 undrafted free agent, Ford has 11 career catches, five of which came last Week 17.

Sun Dec 29 201316:09Chase Ford catches 5 balls in victory
Vikings TE Chase Ford caught five passes for 43 yards in Minnesota's Week 17 win over the Lions.
Ford only played extensively because Kyle Rudolph and John Carlson were both on the shelf. A 2012 undrafted free agent out of Miami, Ford is under contract for $495K in 2014, and will return to compete for a roster spot.
